Weekend Trip to Hardyes Countryside Camping

Beautiful camping spot in the Black Mountains. Loved the separate pitches in the meadow, with plenty of space for the kids to run around. The swing and the stream were a hit for the kids, and lovely walks from the campsite. The facilities were basic, but fine for our needs and perfectly clean. Thank you for sharing your lovely farm.

Nice little campsite with all the amenities we required, everything worked well and had a nice shower. The ground has quite a lot of stones so make sure you bring your hammer. Great location, beautiful setting in the rolling hills and Chris was attentive and helpful.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Restful Relaxing Campsite

It’s a beautiful, quiet campsite by the river. There were lots of spring blossoms when I went. The shower and toilet facilities were well maintained and the kitchen looked good too. Andy was really friendly. It would be a great place for cycling as it is very flat. The river was also calm for paddleboarding and swimming (at your own risk).

1 night at Meldon Lake and Woods Wild Camping

This place is truly magical. I’m reluctant to give a glowing review as it’s so wonderful and would hate not to be able to book in again, but I have to absolutely praise this place. As a solo female camper I was feeling nervous and didn’t know what to expect, felt completely safe and happy. Fab location, private spot next to the lake, dogs allowed to roam freely which is rare. There is a lovely ranch at the top of the farm as you enter, which I had no clue about and was a pleasant surprise would love to come back again, so much to see and do and the peace and tranquillity is lovely. 1 bit of negativity would be walkers coming through, but that’s no big deal. Would highly recommend, thank you for a wonderful stay!

1 night at Meldon Lake and Woods Wild Camping

This is a beautiful and secluded spot with views out over Dartmoor. A footpath/bridleway runs through the site and can be followed up to Meldon Reservoir and way-marked walking routes. The access instructions from Phil were excellent. We were in a 6m long motorhome (long wheel base van) and navigated well along the narrow lane. Would love to return for a few nights; we were only there for one night and were the only people there. Beautiful!

1 night at Cwmffrwd Farm Campsite

Such a great site! Nestled on the mountainside, very natural setting, fire pits and special flat areas for vans. Host was so very welcoming and friendly. Exactly what I'd hoped to find. The walks directly from camp were stunning, lots of different routes to choose from. For families there were self-guided nature activities on site too. Will definitely be going back!

Firstly I must say what a lovely person Andy is. A great host, so kind and friendly and couldn’t do enough to ensure we had a fantastic stay. The site is just beautiful! So peaceful and quiet, immaculately kept and all the creature comforts you could need. Super clean facilities and very well stocked. The fishing in the river that runs through the site was amazing! I caught 4 pike in just a few hours on simple jig head tactics. We had such a good time that we extended the stay by an extra 3 days!! Thank you Andy for your hospitality, absolutely first class and we can’t wait to come back!

The Hen's Dens at Orchard Organic Farm is our small and unique site offering three timber tents / glamping pods - The Hen's Dens and six individual camping pitches all set within our organic farm orchards. The three Dens are spaced out in their own quiet and private area of the orchard accessed via a short path from named parking spaces. Inside the three pods is toasty heating, lighting and electric - with a picnic bench outside and space to make up a campfire. You can choose how you`d like to stay, either renting unfurnished and bringing your own beds, or booking a set of camping beds for your trip for an extra fee, so that things are nice and easy. Each den comes with the luxury of your own private lockable bathroom and kitchen area where you can safely keep bits and bobs. We are 9 miles from the mystical Glastonbury Abbey and Tor and directly on a Sustrans 33 cycle path route. The River Brue runs alongside the campsite with damsel flies fluttering by and kingfishers darting back and forth. We are on the Somerset levels so the sunsets are amazing as well as night time stargazing. We have a private, wooden jetty where you can launch your own paddle board. It’s a perfect get away for campers and nature lovers. Bring your own raised BBQs and logs or buy firewood on site. A family run campsite around 30 miles south of Bristol on the banks of the River Brue, it has a relaxed vibe and we try to keep things simple and straight forward.
