1 night at Riverside Restful Relaxing Campsite

Lovely place, very serene spot near the river and easy to get to Avalon Marshes and Brent Knoll. Great for a little swim in the river and sitting around in the evening enjoying the birdsong. Only one other van when we were there (a Sunday night) so it was very quiet. The little kitchen was nice for washing up and would be great for cooking if it was a rainy day! There is a road nearby but it's not very busy and there was no noise at all at night. Currently only one toilet and shower but both were clean and worked well, and they were installing more. Andy was lovely and welcoming, and the general vibe was very chilled. Thanks a lot, we will be back!

Weekend Trip to Radcot Leisure on Thames

Beautiful location. You are on a tiny little island, with boats on the river. The pub is beautiful. I didn't actually go there other than to check in but it was lovely. Lots of outdoor seating, there was a pizza oven too, which wasn't on but would be great if it had been.

Weekend Trip to The Barn KT9

KT9 barn is brilliant. The bell tent was spacious and we loved the extra bits of detail on the campsite like the hammocks and badminton net. Outdoor toilets and showers were clean and a good bit of the experience for the kids

We had a great time at The Barn. The site was very peaceful and the pitches were well maintained. We had a nice walk to the pub for dinner and had a great coffee in the morning on the onsite cafe.

Wonderful hospitality and a beautiful site. Myself, my wife and daughter backpacked into Hook Farm from London for a two night break. We were warmly greeted on arrival by Megan. We wandered round the site to select our pitch. Lots of choice, beautiful scenery, woodland and green grass. The natural and environmentally friendly ethos here is evident and refreshing. Some slopes to be aware of but entirely manageable; good to arrive on the earlier side to have the best choice. We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Fox. The owner, (my apologies for not recalling your name!) is a true gentleman and perfect host. I was looking for the easiest way to walk to the shop for a few food bits, he stopped his vehicle to enquire as to whether I needed assistance, we then had a lovely half hour chat about all sorts of things. 5th generation farmer, the 6th generation stopped by also! Genuine hospitality and friendly, warm people who care about what they do. I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation, followed the cross country directions and had a fabulous walk to the shop, then again later with family to the Fox. We loved our experience and stay at Hook Farm. A gem of a place and made to feel very welcome. A treat to find a rural site that is simple yet beautiful without artificial noise and with just the right, simple facilities for a recharge.

Lovely spot, allowed to pick our own 'pitch' - nothing marked out, just go where you want. It's a back to basics campsite as advertised and that's what I like. We recevied a friendly welcome and everyone on the site was plesant and stuck to the no music after 10 rule. Lots of families and a good atmosphere.

We are 9 miles from the mystical Glastonbury Abbey and Tor and directly on a Sustrans 33 cycle path route. We are on the Somerset levels so the sunsets are amazing as well as night time stargazing. We have a private, wooden jetty where you can launch your own paddle board. It’s a perfect get away for campers and nature lovers. Bring your own raised BBQs and logs or buy firewood on site. A family run campsite around 30 miles south of Bristol on the banks of the River Brue, it has a relaxed vibe and we try to keep things simple and straight forward. It’s ideal for doing some day trips nearby, then lighting the BBQ and playing Frisbee (games box you are most welcome to use). Our big sister site is just 4 miles away, and the café bar at 'Wall Eden Farm' serves fantastic coffee, cake, and family-made Somerset cider. Nonetheless, it’s likely that the awe-inspiring castle is what’s drawing you to this part of Dorset. As one of the county’s major tourist attractions, with a location in the middle of the Isle of Purbeck, who could blame you? It’s had that effect on people for years and one of the results of its popularity is a wealth of campsites within easy reach of the castle walls. Things to do in Corfe Castle

The evocative ruins of Corfe Castle stand at the heart of the Isle of Purbeck. Visible for miles around they are one of Dorset’s must-see attractions. Managed by the National Trust, the entrance fee allows you into the grounds and visitor centre where you can learn about the centuries of building, rebuilding and destruction that’s shaped what you can see today. In the nearby village, you can visit Corfe Castle Model Village to see what the castle would have been like before it was left in ruins by Oliver Cromwell’s allies in the English Civil War. The steam and diesel trains of the Swanage Railway puff their way right past the castle, which has its own stop in the village, en route from Norden to the seaside at Swanage.

Although it’s known as an island, Purbeck is really a peninsula. Surrounded by water on three sides, when you’re on the peninsula, you’re never too far from the sea and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Jurassic Coast. Apart from the seaside fun of Swanage, there’s fossil-hunting and snorkelling at Kimmeridge Bay, world-class wildlife watching at RSPB Arne on Poole Harbour and the fascinating rock formations at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The pretty and historic town of Wareham is also within reach and for rainy-day fun there’s Monkey World Ape Sanctuary, the Bovington Tank Museum and Thomas Hardy’s Cottage.
