The Drovers Hut and hot tub
Shepherd's hut · Sleeps 5The drovers hut started life as a WW2 army animations trailer, it was bought by a farmer to convert to a bale trailer, and was found by Andy in an overgrown hedge. We have made a beautiful hut on the restored chassis. We set the drovers hut overlooking the farmland, with Wistlandpound reservoir in the near distance.
A lovely, cosy, romantic hut, set in a secluded corner. For couples or families. With a wood-fired hot tub and a private bathroom with hot shower and flushing loo. The Drovers Hut has sleeping for5-6, including a king-size bed, single bunks and a trestle bed that pulls out from under the main king-size bed. There is also room to pitch a tent below the decking for extra friends and family or older children. Children are welcome to visit the farm animals (supervised) and collect eggs from the hens. The lovely drovers hut has a gorgeous country kitchen with Belfast sink, solid oak worktop, dresser top, two-burner gas hob, a table and benches and a wonderful wood-burning range stove with oven and hobs above. Lighting is powered by solar panels and candles for added ambiance. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery. All the beds have comfy memory foam mattresses, plump pillows and are made up with quality linen.
Below the decking is a wood-fired hot tub. The drovers hut is fitted out beautifully, in a lovely peaceful corner of the field, has a decking area that with two gates to secure it for dogs or children, outdoor seating, table, fire pit, and bbq. The hot tub is accessed by a gate off the decking. We now have direct access to Wistlandpound reservoir and Exmoor national park via footpaths leading from the farm.
We have just two other glamping lets, all of which are secluded in tucked-away corners of the fields around the farm. If you have a larger party there is the option of the yurt which shares a corner in the same field.
A short walk away, at the top of the field, past the chickens from whom you are welcome to collect fresh eggs for your breakfast, are more toilets, lovely new modern showers with plenty of hot water and heating from our biomass boiler which is on all year round. You will have shared use of the fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble drier and electric points for charging phones or using your hair drier or straighteners. As well as a drying wall to dry your clothes and towels if you get a bit soggy.
Lambing takes place on the farm from the 1st April each year. Guests are welcome in the lambing shed to feed lambs and see them being born. We are happy for budding farmers, young or old to lend a helping hand.
