Located on 600 acres, we have developed the previously used agriculture land into a trail center in hopes of transforming the property from an underutilized farm into a facility that could support local outdoor recreation use and programming. Currently there are 14 miles of purpose built trails, with plans to install up to 30 miles of natural surface trails that will create access to and feature the natural beauty of the property, which includes open meadows, mature hardwood forests, rock outcroppings, an area of volcanic activity, seven freshwater springs, headwater streams (including Brook Trout habitat), and three distinct knobs. These features provide a rich and unique landscape for a trail system. With so much here, there is no need to leave the property. T-Mobile has the best service. AT&T and US Cellular 50-80% coverage. You must bring charging cords. We have a propane instant water heater for the outdoor shower. Firewood bundles are stacked under the deck with roasting sticks. All lights are solar with a few battery operated ones. There is a grill and propane tank on site with grilling utensils, cutting board. Plates and silverware provided. We offer a cooler just bring your own ice! If you forget your shower accessories, don’t worry we have you covered. You will also find a 4 cup French press and water kettle. Bug spray and hand sanitizer on site! A propane heater is available upon request. Find us on social media @ OldeTymeCabins There is plenty of space to lay down some sleeping bags for the kids! We are less than a 1/4 mile from Maniac Mountain Haunted House, so you will hear the chainsaws, gun shots, and screams during the Sept-Nov time. We have 160 acres of wilderness you can explore. Be cautious of wildlife and look for WARNING signs. We have a private shooting range in the bottom fields of the property so you may hear gun shots April- September. The range is for our junior marksmanship program to practice for Nationals and local matches. For winter months Oct-April water supply will be limited. A propane buddy heater can be requested as well.

Spruce Knob Lake Campground is an absolute hidden gem. If you're looking for remote and beautiful camping and hiking, this is an amazing place. We stayed in one of the 'walk-in' campsites, and there were no other campers within eyeshot. We took the Seneca Creek trail and it was achingly beautiful with mysterious shady groves of evergreens interspersed with fields of spring wildflowers and waterfalls. Will definitely return. This is also a great place for fishing enthusiasts, since the lake and streams are well-stocked by the state with trout and other species.

Site 51 was relatively exposed and located next to the bathroom. We were able to grab a campsite on the Friday of the 4th of July weekend. Campground has a large number of RVs. I would prefer the river sites on a return visit.
