I could write a novel on how much my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay. First off this is in beautiful Trinidad, CA which is an amazing redwood town with gorgeous coastal beaches and views and so close to the national park. Secondly, Lisa and her Husband Jeff are phenomenal hosts and you can tell they take excellent dedication and care into this space they call the elf cabin. The cabin itself is GORGEOUS it is so perfect for its size and surprisingly so so so so SOOO CLEAN especially for how rural it is located, you get the perfect package with a beautiful outdoor vibe as you sleep but the comfort of sleeping at home. There is a camp style kitchen with two plug in stove tops and a fully functioning bathroom with amazing running water. This places literally deserves awards, please you need to do this as if your life depended on it the price to reward ratio is ridiculous it was so much fun and so cozy!!

I found the campground very user friendly. The bath and kitchen area was very nice, with plenty of space, plenty of hot water in the shower and sinks. Tent was spacious. River was clear and beautiful.

This was my favorite stop on our trip. We loved it so much. We stayed in Arcata to spend time with the Redwoods. We loved every aspect of it honestly: - The location was awesome, close to good eats/coffee but feeling really removed and tucked away in the trees. Also it was a great distance to all redwood interests! - The outdoor kitchen was great, had all the essentials, we enjoyed many meals out on the porch. - The outdoor shower was a dream. Super simple but tucked into the trees and the water got hot fast! - The bed and inside area was great. We could have used bringing one more blanket probably but we like sleeping cold so it worked great for us (we didn’t need the wood stove) - The land it was on was lovely - And the overall ambiance was spectacular - oh and we made lots of slug friends. Loved every one of them! Ted and Emily were awesome, they were around their property just doing their thing and were super timely and attentive with any questions or additional info. Wish we could have stayed longer! Would definitely stay there again!

The Perch is a magical getaway! Stunning river views pair perfectly with a cozy tent adorned with fairy lights, creating an enchanting vibe. We visited in May when the weather was perfect, falling asleep to the sounds of the river and waking to the songs of birds and the river’s ecosystem! We loved the privacy and well-designed communal spaces, like the outdoor kitchen and bathroom (very nice and clean!). River access via a short hike was a fantastic perk. Best of all, Jo and Ro’s hospitality made our stay unforgettable!

I had a wonderful stay at Liam and Sara’s peaceful mountain retreat in Humboldt County. The cabin is surrounded by miles of trails, wildlife, and the calming sounds of Salmon Creek—complete with a perfect little swimming hole. Their dog Stanley was a sweet and playful companion for my pup, and Liam went above and beyond to help transport luggage up/down the steep drive (a big help since I don't have 4WD). The cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed. It's remote—about 20 minutes off Hwy 101—but the serenity and connection to nature make it more than worth the drive. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unplug and recharge in the redwoods.

It was a quaint place. It would’ve been nicer to be farther away from the road. We did not stay in the dome we stayed in the tent. It had everything you needed. I don’t think we got what we paid for. The price should be a little lower, it is just a tent and a cot.

Perfect spot to explore the coast and Redwoods! We loved waking up to the sound of chirping birds while being cozy in the comforts of the cabin. Everything we could have needed was provided in advance in the cabin and Lisa was very communicative and helpful during our stay. We would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy basecamp near the coast and redwoods.

This was a very cute cabin. You fell asleep to bird noises, which felt like a movie moment for me. It’s also extremely cozy in it. The commute from the cabin to the city was very good. The hosts were really helpful. Overall an amazing experience staying here.

An amazing hipcamp for a more outdoorsy experience yet close to town. The location was easy to find, comfortable, cute place and with all the amenities needed. We loved that we were allowed to let our dogs off leash and their resident dogs are friendly. They also have basic utensils but don't forget to bring your own sheets, pillows and blanket. I would recommend this stay to anyone and would come again!

The Fairy Forest

The Fairy Forest is 4 acres of redwood trees one mile from the magical city of Trinidad, CA. People have been camping in our meadow since the 1950's, and I'm happy to carry on the tradition, by opening it up to you. There was a fire on the property in 1901 which left the burnt out hollow stumps which you'll see by the shower. There's one old growth redwood on the property, behind the glampy tent, but everything else in roughly 120 years old. Every year we try to make your glamping experience better and better. This year, we've added an artisan picnic table, built on site, and some solar lights leading to the shower. Outdoor sink and cook space is next on our list! There used to be two campsites on our property, but we closed down one of them to give guests in the glampy tent exclusive usage of the outdoor shower and porta potty. We are also renting out our cabin this year, which has been our home for the last 3 years. There's 10 local beaches to explore in the area, great little restaurants and businesses, and countless trails- including Strawberry Rock, which is right down the street from us. We're 19 miles away from Orick, which is the gateway to Fern Canyon (make a reservation in advance) and all the trails with old growth redwoods. And we're 16 miles from Arcata, a vibrant, colorful and creative city that is home to the first farmer's market in California, which is quite the experience if you find yourself here on a Saturday. Redwoods Bend Retreat

The Redwoods Bend Retreat is a place to get away from it all. Located on the Yurok reservation right on the Klamath River just outside Orick, CA, we are "off the grid", through a Redwood forest and over a mountain down into the Klamath River valley. We have a 5 acre meadow, and orchard with 50 trees, peaches pears, apples, cherries, plums, pluots, apricots and grapes. We are right on the Klamath river. It's a great place to come and recharge your internal batteries. There is no cellphone service and none of our sites have internet service. Our Main House was built in 1952 and retains the flavor of the 50’s. It houses a kitchen, dining hall, a living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. Our log-built Lodge overlooks the Klamath River with 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen, bathroom and wrap-around covered porch. Our Pumpkin and Blue Cottages. They are close to the double Yellow Shower house and toilets, and they have hot and cold running water, a propane cooktop, and a wood stove for heat. We do NOT have refrigeration, and our solar batteries or generator provides us lights at night. Campers who use our Cottages may use their own sleeping bags, but we have beds with mattresses and pillows and clean bedding. We also have an Upper Barn bedroom and half-bath rental. Our two-story Riverview Yurt appeals to folks who want a full kitchen, a private shower and flush toilet overlooking the Klamath river from our 50 x 50 foot upper deck. Luscious to sit outside and watch the river flow by during the day, and to let the water lull you to sleep at night. For families (up to 8), folks who like to fish, or old friends who just want a very special get-away. Each of our six campsites have a picnic table and a fire pit. Our Maple River, Grotto River and Pepperwood River sites overlook the gorgeous Klamath River. Our Morning Meadow, Orchard Meadow, and Deer Meadow sites are close to our 5 acre meadow where blacktail deer graze in the evenings. We have a Yellow double Shower House with two separate sides, each with a toilet, sink and shower and on demand hot water, so folks don't have to wait. There's also a new Camp Shower at the corner of the orchard for our campers, along with two outhouses for camper use, one at the bottom of the road down to the meadow, and another in the woods just past Deer Meadow Camp. We see lots of wildlife; silver foxes, a bald eagle and a family of river otters downstream, vultures, blue heron, occasionally an osprey will fly overhead clutching a freshly caught salmon and call to each other to brag about it! There are rare sightings of timid black bears who run from humans, but sometimes can be seen grazing in the meadow with the black-tail deer. We're surrounded by old logging trails made by the lumber companies 80 years ago when they clear cut the old growth redwood on our side of the mountain, and now it's completely reforested with 200 ft tall Doug Fir, Madrone, Cedar, Oak, other pine species and Pepper wood trees, and we have written permission from the Green Diamond company to allow guest to hike on their adjacent properties.

The beach is just 25 minutes away. The is the best location for a surf and turf get away! Onsite, you may see red fox, deer, turkeys, bear, possums, skunks, and a huge variety of birds. You'll also likely see our chickens and dogs: the beginning of our organic, sustainable, off grid farm. We've been carefully tending and nurturing this forest for just over two years to mechanically remove invasives like scotch broom, himaylayan black berry, English ivy, Pampas grass, bull thistle, and non-native onions while reintroducing native species.
