4 nights at Patty's RV Paradise

This property is picturesque and very private. The hosts are incredibly generous and available - there are kayaks, fishing gear, cornhole and kites provided. Watching the herons and ospreys feed right in front of us reminded us of the old Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom hour. A crab house, a bar and a market are within strolling distance. Cell service (with Verizon) is poor, but that’s not necessarily a negative. We’ve already scheduled another long weekend.

Weekend Trip to About Tyme Farm

We enjoyed our get-away to About Tyme Hip camp. Pam was very accommodating with water and electric also the fire ring & wood. We watched the sunset each evening on the quiet farm. We recommend the site to Hip Campers craving an unique place to relax. We are looking forwarding to our next trip to About Tyme.

Weekend Trip to Harbor View

The space on the grass was nice , bathhouse was clean. It was fun to watch the nice boats. My family had a great time. I would visit again!

Beautiful spot and Darlene was very accommodating. Unfortunately, had to leave early due to a pet medical issue (not related to the site). Absolutely look forward to going back!

This was worth every penny or dollar. We loved feeding the baby goats and bunnies. The chickens were...well...chickens. Lots of goats. It is a little work, but worth the extra time. We enjoyed our time and you will too.

I really enjoyed staying here , Paula was super helpful and showed me everything upon arrival. Electricity was easy to get to and a very short walk to the shower house and bathrooms. I would stay here agian if I am in the area!

Weekend Trip to Happy Heart Highlands and Alpacas

Kimberly was very responsive. Directions were excellent. Parking was easy. Spot was level. It was very quiet. Loved seeing the Alpacas and cattle. There is also a talkative peacock and 2 friendly cats. There is a dog kennel nearby which got lively with the thunderstorm but not a big deal. We didn’t have cell service with Verizon but our friends with AT&T did. I like that they have firewood and eggs for sale there. It was very quiet overnight. Bring bug spray or a way to keep them at bay. We used a fan and two thermacell bug repellent devices and we were fine. We will be back. Close to lots of things to do.

Communication was great all along the way -- efficient, clear, and friendly! Unfortunately, cannot comment on the site itself since we had to cancel unexpectedly, but Keith was very helpful and flexible about the change, and we will be very happy to camp here in the future.

We haven’t found a better host anywhere across the country! Juanita is super responsive and respectful and her property is absolutely beautiful! We would highly recommend a stay here! Add a night or 2 to appreciate the beauty around!!

Beautiful secluded spot. I use Starlink to connect to internet for work and it was good when I arrived but as the canopy of leaves started to grow in it blocked my signal. Host had WiFi via an extender which was good enough for me to work.

1 night at Redemption Springs Farm

Most campers enjoy the unique-things along the way. This place is one of those stops along the way. Ours was an in-and-out, overnight respite from the road. Directions were perfect, always a plus.. too often a surprise. Seth greeted us, as we texted him about 30mins out. Seth and his family run this unique farm 'Redemption Springs'. Google them, as they are doing 'it' old-school. Ya know, when food was genuine ... not corporate farmed. Just know you will meet many new creatures you'd expect. Aiden the Ram (yes, a RAM) was particularly memorable. He greeted us like a welcoming puppy.We purchased some goodies from their store while there. I wish they were local to us.... The site was too easy. We drove in and out, effortlessly. Strongly recommended!!

This stay was the perfect stay. The only thing I wish is to have had more time here. It was everything and more. Juanita is the best host, she went above and beyond and over succeeded past my expectations. I was greeted with a gift that I’ll always appreciate. Comus Sky farm is beautiful. It has everything you need. She has a beautiful Airbnb on the property I’m definitely coming back to book another stay.

Pamela has an absolutely beautiful farm which has wonderful accommodations. Pamela is a wonderful person to work with and very welcoming. She made us feel like it was our home. We loved her property. It was very accessible to the surrounding areas.

3 nights at Happy Heart Highlands and Alpacas

Spent 3 nights at the Alpaca site. Had a great time. Set up about 6 feet from the fence line and had Alpaca TV my whole stay. Easy to get to Harpers Ferry. No sewer hookup but the KOA is very close and allows anyone to use their dump site for $20. Great communication from host Kim both before and during stay.

Weekend Trip to Comus Sky Farm

Beautiful land - plenty of space to setup tent. Host was nice and provided us with pots, spatula and firewood. Flush toilet is available in the barn as well. Come prepared with a lot of blankets and beddings since it gets really windy and lower temperature weather make it cold. Running hot water is also available in bathroom here. No showers or picnic tables available. Hiking trails are there that lead to small pond and stream. Host has some horses that you can pet and visible from camping sites. We did not see other animals around but kids loved seeing horses. Overall, great experience for cooking, start fire, setting up tents, hike and host’s support. Recommended for getaways specially when it is just 15 minutes away from city and stores.

The campground is situated in the wooded area on the back of 27 acre horse farm which is known as "The Stables at Mezza Luna." There is Wi-Fi to all the sites. Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint! "They love peppermints, carrots and apples." Who knows, you might get to meet a future Kentucky Derby winner. Nearby attractions include: BLACK HILLS REGIONAL PARK (15 minutes) for boating, hiking or biking Vineyard 61 (5 minutes) Stone Silo Brewery (5 Minutes) Leechwood Haunted Forest (5 Minutes) October weekends only There are also chickens and peacocks that are very anxious to receive your love and affection with any type of treat such as raisins. There also is a playground with swings, monkey bars, seesaw and trampoline. There is a dumpster in front of the barn for you to place your trash. Beneath the pavilion: There is one large wood burning grill suitable for cooking food, one belly stove for ambience/heat and 3 fire rings to build your own fire. Firewood is provided upon request. There are no designated parking spots for now. Feel free to park wherever suits. Potable water is in the barn along with a flush toilet. One 30A outlet is located on the side of the barn inside the paddock next to the horse washing station. Other outlets are located inside the barn, outside the hay barn and run-in sheds; also, on the other side of the barn outside the paddock. Duck eggs are provided as a courtesy welcome gift and are contingent (for purchase) on availability.

All of the fencing at Willows Farm is electric to keep our cattle and horse in and you will get shocked if you touch it. Please be mindful of this with your pets and children. If you are fortunate enough to have the timing right, you can even watch an airplane take off and land on our farm grass strip — "Willows Landing", which is just to the north (cardinal direction) of the campsite. Just 30 minutes to Gettysburg battlefields, historical downtown Frederick, and many other exciting places for exploration, Willows Farm is a great location for fun! Spend an evening watching Bull riding and barrel racing at J Bar W Ranch just a few minutes down the street in Johnsville. If vineyards and breweries are your thing we are just 15 - 30 minutes from many fine establishments. A few of our favorites are Black Ankle Vineyards, Linganore Winecellars and Attaboy Beer. Antique shopping abounds in the nearby charming, little town of New Market. So you're hungry and have a hankering for local cuisine? Take a five minute drive to the quaint downtown of Union Bridge and visit one of the three delicious family run restaurants. Happy Heart Highlands and Alpacas

Peaceful camping with privacy on a 160-acre historic farm! Minutes from Harpers Ferry, Antietam Battlefield and the C&O Canal to name a few. We are within an hour of Gettysburg and within an hour and a half of DC if you're planning a day trip. We have a prime central location with close access to so many things to do. This beautiful property is nestled in a valley between Elk Ridge and South Mountain with incredible sunrises, sunsets and starlit night skies. Walk out to the fishing pond, or follow the trails around the pastures to meet the cattle grazing. We have Scottish Highlands and Black Angus grazing as well as Alpacas. We also have beautiful peacocks on the property. We are a working farm so expect to see tractors and you may even see us baling hay or tending to the cattle. You may smell some animal smells which we work at keeping to a minimum but again, we are a working farm. It’s a true farm experience. Also, please keep in mind that during warm weather you may encounter some bugs. Gnats and flies are always a possibility and of course at times they can be worse than others. That can always be a possibility when camping or being outdoors. Bring bug spray, citronella and anything else to help with insects. If you stay by the pond you may hear frogs which personally I enjoy hearing but some may not. Consider bringing a generator and run a fan if you think the sound might bother you or some way to block sounds. We enjoy talking to our guests so feel free to stop us for a chat. At the RV sites you have 30 and 50 amp power as well as water. All the water spickets are potable and drinkable.

Earthwalk Ways Retreat

We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.
