Great little campsite. Frog was a great host. Easy access to water and electricity. 20 min from downtown Helen. Lots of shade. Plenty of armadillos hanging out near the site at night! We would stay here again.

I found this little spot after driving all day and really just needing to get some sleep. I booked my reservation around 10pm, and within minutes I received a call from Byron. I was there within 20 minutes or so, at which time I had the pleasure of meeting Byron, who led me to my spot. It was dark when I arrived, but the reservoir was still beautiful. I rolled my windows down and fell asleep to the sound of fish catching their dinner. I awoke in time to watch the sun rise over the water, and man was it worth it. I got a good night's sleep, a beautiful sunrise, and the absolute pleasure of meeting my gracious host, Byron. I will coming back many times in the future, without a doubt. Thank you for everything, Byron! You've got a beautiful spot there, and I enjoyed my stay very much!

I love this spot! It was very peaceful out on the land.. The owner was very kind and helpful. I would recommend like a caddy or something to put toiletries in while taking a shower. Also, when you take a shower, you do have to hold the handle down. I wasn’t unable to keep the water continually running while taking a shower. Regardless, I would come back.

We loved our time spent at Deer Valley site #1 we stayed 4 nights we was amazed being that close to town was so peaceful, each spot has a Picnic table, fire ring and electrical hookups along with water and sewer. The spaces are separated real good allowing privacy the spaces are wooded very nicely laid out, when in Chatsworth GA Deer Valley won’t disappoint you. When we are back in the area we will stay again. Thanks for a great visit

3 nights at Deer Valley RV Park

I loved that it was small and private. We used site 4 which was perfect for a pull through but I must admit looking with longing at the back in sites that were shady. A huge thunderstorm came through and we were told that a tornado touched down nearby. I’m not surprised, pieces of the roof from a nearby business flew by us. We are in a Class A bus and it didn’t move. Kudos to Forest River for my well made tin can! We never saw the host, but that was ok, everything was easy to see and hook ups were a breeze. Perfect if you want peace and quiet and privacy.

2 nights at Lake Side At Bear Creek

This spot is breathtaking! We were a little nervous because our rig was just on the edge of being too long to get in but Byron met us at the drive and made sure we squeezed in safely. And then the whole world opened up to this gorgeous lake that felt as if it was there just for us. Our dogs had a blast sniffing around and Byron even treated us to some free firewood and an afternoon paddle in the lake. HIGHLY recommend this site on the waters edge.

My husband and I spent 4N’s the end of May in the Orient Express! Enjoyed every minute from the coziness of the airstream to the oh so close location to Savannah! Loved the beautiful creatures roaming the pastures, (horses)!! Best part….coming back to the quiet and peacefulness after the hustle bustle in downtown Savannah….The stay was PERFECT! Will recommend to friends!!! Thank you Chad and Angie……

Our mission is to build awareness of a more environmentally friendly self-sustainable method of producing a higher quality and nutritional variety of food while providing and encouraging the consumption of a more nutritional diet to the youth of our community. Our vision is to change the behavior of children now and the diabetic and obesity rates of future generations through healthier and more traditional diets provided by better farming methods using Permaculture. Within the Permaculture is a community activated, working farm that will educate, support, and inspire the participants, school tours, and visitors to eventually reproduce Permaculture gardens of their own. Gardens that will continue to provide a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs for families throughout the area and beyond. Changing the minds of young and old to a safer and more natural way of growing their own food and to improve the choices they make about the foods that they consume. Our primary focus is to change the behavior of children by changing the food they choose to eat. As they tour the farm, they can pick the fruits and vegetables of their choice to bring home with them. They can also pick fruits and vegetables to bring to the smoothie shack where we make them a smoothie of their own design. All of these services are free. We, as Permaculturist, have the responsibility to keep this knowledge alive by offering as much training as possible. We have designed a coordinated efforts program in which we provide free instruction in Permaculture techniques. We have just completed a free 12 week course in HOW TO BUILD A PERMACULTURE GARDEN IN THE BACK YARD OF AN HOA SUBDIVISION (See attached syllabus) Permaculture in Paradise strives to create a complete ecosystem by rescuing abandoned and neglected farm animals. While these animals are free to roam and engage with minimal fencing, they are content to stay in their happy oasis. Guava trees near the duck pond provide the ducks with a shaded resting spot. The ducks feed on vegetable plants growing near the pond. The chickens happily share space with the ducks and feed on any insect intruders in their vegetable garden. All 4 ducks were rescued at a very young age (unkown) and have flourished with contentment. We have 8 older hens, producing 7 eggs a day, providing eggs for and shared between the rescued dogs, cats, and a homeless family we sponsor. The goal is to be self-sustainable by growing all food for the ecosystem. We are in the process of rescuing a rooster, 2 goats, and a pig. We have a barn that contains 40 piglets that have all been adopted out. Available for our next rescue, is a mature horse in need. In 2023, we began acquiring larger animals needing shelter. We are creating ties with organizations such as Farm Santuary and Humane Society to rescue farm animals. These animals also serve as entertainment for children who tour the farm. Built on Native American land, we have built 2 playgrounds and a recreational pond for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing and cabins for camping. We strive to make eating fruits and vegetables fun. WE NEED YOUR HELP! WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP PLANT OUR ORCHARD. We have received a grant that will provide up to 530 fruit and nut trees of 30 different varieties depending on the number of volunteers that sign up. They will donate 2 trees per volunteer, plus a 3rd tree for the volunteer to take home. The process will take about 2 to 3 hours and will be held on a Friday and Saturday in February, March, or April. You may sign up for Friday, Saturday or both. Because we need the volunteer list in order to determine tree count, we must have a head count prior to knowing the event date. Once we have the date, we will notify you. Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit campsite has soft opening under way! This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet. Answer: The kind who doesn't mind paying $100 per nail. I hate to come across like this, but those doing this type of damage are ruining it for everyone else.... Be warned. If there is dangerous weather, flood watch, tornado, etc. I will be happy to refund the time we were under this watch.... PLEASE READ ALL THIS BEFORE BOOKING.....This is a recreation area, NOT A CAMPGROUND. You have access to 44 acres in the mountains of North Georgia, on Tallulah River. Trout fishing, camping in beautiful Rabun County. Lot's of outdoor activities in the area. Forest Service land, and more nearby. This is not a campground, but a private Recreation Area on 43.7 acres on Tallulah River, which we love to share. Yes, there is a house here an there along the border. People choose to camp in the easy to access area, instead of hiking out to more seclude places on the property. So if you have a problem with the house being there across from the "sweet spot" please just choose a different place to spot. I find it so funny people want to come to secluded and be able to DRIVE TO IT, with no other people around. It is mostly secluded, but people do live around here, and a few houses border this property. People have actually given us bad reviews because of this. Hike in and camp away if it bothers you that someone lives across the river. And yes, there are chickens, foxes, coyotes, bears. Yes there is a road. Yes, they cut the trees down along the road to build the new bridge. Yes I have planted trees, and it will be more private as these grow. All this being said, please read on... This is rural neighborhood in Persimmon Community, Georgia. There are neighbors. Act accordingly, the few who do not! We are a few miles from NC line, and about 20 or so from SC line, in the most Northeast corner of Georgia. We are blessed with mountains, water, and a great community. 43.7 acres access, 1,000 feet of Tallulah River frontage (actually, property line is down the middle of the river), there is a nice road to the place, and a field and Tallulah River...... You can drive into the field, have fun in the river, and camp, build a fire, do whatever you like in our space. If you don't like being close to the very nice neighbors across from the car accesable spot, the camp further up the field, or pack by foot up the mountain. We are NOT a campground. We have no fixed sites. The fire pits were made by campers, not by me (the owner.) People have actually complained to me that there are neighbors across the river. CAMP AWAY FROM THERE IF IT BOTHERS YOU. And yes, they have chickens, that will wake you at dawn... Yes, there is a road. Yes there is a field. No, there are no fixed campsites. We are not a campground. We leave you alone. We will try to answer questions, but I do not sit by the phone. This is just us sharing access to the land. We want to preserve this like this, for as long as we can. I genuinely want to share this place. But that being said, I would rather not interface with campers. I live in the middle of nowhere for a reason. I assume you want to visit the middle of nowhere to be left alone. This is what I will do. I do my best to keep this going, and open to being shared. That's my job. But I am not going to find you stuff to do, watch the calendar, or whatever. Just look up THINGS TO DO IN RABUN COUNTY. DON'T TRESPASS ON NEIGHBORS' LAND If people come on the land while you are here, THEY are trespassing. I try to keep it private, but there is the occasional interloper who wanders on. Just tell them you have it lease, it is private. I am sorry for this. People are, well.... PEOPLE.... There is 44 acres here. Over 1,000 feet of river frontage. There is great fishing here. Please respect the property lines. We love our neighbors, and they love us. We want to keep it this way. Be aware that the property if BELOW the bridge, all the way back to the old cabin. That next branch is the property line. I will try and provide a plat, or map so you will be aware of the lines. There is also plenty of public property in Rabun County. Rabun County is 65% US Forest Service land. If 44 private acres isn't enough, then check out some of the wonderful public places around here. Look in photos for plat of the property. You agree to not trespass. Also, property line is down the middle of the river. Please don't trespass across the river. And while we are at it, please do not do doughnuts in the hay field. Every young kid from Athens seems to want to tear up the hay field. Please don't! We expect it to be left mostly like it was. If I have one more person come and say it is too isolated, or not isolated enough, or there is dirt, or whatever. Buyer be informed. We charge very little to share this gorgeous private land with you. We try to make this simple, friendly, and answer as best we can any questions you have. But just beware that there are NO REFUNDS unless more than 30 days before the booking dates. THE RIVER Tallulah River has great atmosphere, trout fishing, and more. But please be aware that when rain comes, the river can rise quickly. We try to be aware, but you need to stay aware. This is on a flood plain, so it does flood sometimes, and fast. BE AWARE and Stay safe. Our mission is to preserve this beautiful mountain land the way it is, and to share it with people who will enjoy, appreciate, and take care of it. FACILITIES We don't have regular facilities. But we do offer nice new camp toilet for $22. You are expected to either bring your own camp toilet, and bag your waste out, or you can buy a toilet bucket and some plastic bags, and cat litter. This is a brand new unopened toilet lid and a brand new 5 gallon bucket. Bring some cat litter, and some bags to line the bucket, and some Ziploc bags to put this in and seal. The cost of a bucket potty is $22 NO MORE KITTY TRENCHES. You are expected to remove your waste and put it in your trash each time you use it. This is for consideration of others. IF YOU LEAVE TRASH YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50 FOR CLEANUP. IF YOU LEAVE HUMAN WASTE, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $500 FOR CLEANUP.......... I am only saying this because as we get more experience, we learn what people are actually capable of. Most people are very good about everything. But there have been a few people who actually expected me to clean up their waste, and then they gave me a bad review, etc. I am a decent guy. I will share my million dollar property with you for $40 a night. I will leave you alone. But please.... PLEASE... don't expect me to clean up after you. And when I do have to clean up after you, please don't curse me, divert, give excuses. If you camp here you are expected to be decent, and treat me decently. This is only for that 1%... Thanks. Footehills Farmhouse is a small family owned and operated farm in Northwest, GA, in the little town of Taylorsville. We are stewards of 18 beautiful acres, and nestled between hills covered in hardwoods and Old Taylorsville Church Cemetery. We are very close to Atlanta, GA, Red Top Mountain State Park, The Booth Museum, Tellus Science Museum and the City of Cartersville, GA. Enjoy our local winery and brewery as well. GA mountains and apple country are a short 1.5 hour drive from our location. Our farm is a small local market style farm, hosting many TN Fainting Goats (enjoy all the kids in the spring), Sheep and spring lambs, around 40 or so chickens and piggies depending on the season. We also grow figs, herbs garlic and veggies. Please note this is an RV site only no tent camping and no latrine tents allowed. We also have a one dog policy. Thank you for looking at our property.

Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit campsite has soft opening under way! This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 14 mile concrete trail that runs behind the property and all the way out along the south river. Quite the hike or bike if you fancy a good walk. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. We are massively focussed on permaculture as the only sustainable way of life and rapidly moving towards being totally carbon neutral. You will be up close on our early days and see our Solar Roof Cabin (a total of 300 panels and 70kW output when completed). We make a lot of our infrastructure from windfallen and site development trees that are cut and shaped on our own electric sawmill. Much of the rest of the renovations are done using upcycled and donated materials. We are working towards: Total energy and water independence Total structural material independence Food independence via aquaponic farming Providing solar powered refrigerated space to local food distros Providing local kids (and adults) access to training on permaculture and living with minimal impact on the planet.
