Weekend Trip to Camping on private lake

Even on a too hot and windy day, I enjoyed my time at Jim's lake. It was magical to watch the stars come out! Jim was welcoming and you can tell he wants you to enjoy his rustic place. I will visit again.

Our camp site was private and spacious. Jim was very helpful and friendly. He even provided a couple of extra items for us to use.

Very secluded spot. Looks like there are quite a few long term campers, but still plenty of spots for folks just passing through. Our #8 spot that we reserved online was already occupied, but a quick call/email to the offsite manager assured us that we could take any open spot, so we set up in #7 right next door. We did not use the restrooms/showers but took a peek and they were large and clean. Used the pump station which was conveniently located off the road as you exited the campground.

Nice quiet spot. Mostly if not entirely RVs, but we set up our little tent and still enjoyed a good night of sleep under the stars. Nice clean bathroom and great hot shower!

This was possibly one of my absolute favorite places I've ever camped!! Jim was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we could possibly need! Even set up a hammock for us ❤️ the spot was beautiful, well taken care of and absolutely secluded and peaceful! Will definitely be back ☺️

Quaint and quiet campground, with easy pull through sites. The kids loved exploring the pond and woods. There is a large public park about half a mile from the campground with multiple playgrounds and a creek. The downtown is so charming and just a short distance from the campground as well.

Very small campground tucked away amongst fields and trees. Best part we discovered is that a bike trail ran along the side of the campground that connected to a beautiful nearby park, a brewery and a state park. The campground sites were adequate, but the location and nearby trail makes it special.

Plenty of room between camp sights. Jim is very accommodating as we showed up with my husband in a wheelchair and he gave us a better site.

Jim was a great host. He met us right away and was excited to share the surroundings. Our campsite was an excellent location. Shade trees for hammocks (he even had one hanging), table and a few chairs. Quick easy access to the lake. Our dogs had a fabulous time! We only caught a few bullheads but the lake has been low for about a year per Jim. Only 4-6 feet. He had a trolling motor in a paddle boat which our kids really liked driving around. Two kayaks available also. Saw lots of birds, geese, trumpeter swans, and turtles galore. He’s prompt to reply to messages as well as delivering firewood. He ensures a quiet night. He has a couple community toilets, toilet paper provided. We had hand sanitizer but always do when camping. He was fun to chat with. We’d definitely book with Jim again!! :-)

Nice, quiet place to camp. Stayed for one night only but loved the bike bath that connects right to the campground! Saw a beaver near the path and tons of bunnies. Clean bathrooms, would stay again!

This was a great no frills stop. The campground was clean,and well kept. It was on a quiet road. The bathrooms were ok. Concrete floor no frills again. No office on site. Enjoyed our two night stay here. Can’t beat the price either.

This is a newer campground to Rock County near Luverne, MN. This property is known as the "boy scouts" by the locals. When we were kids we spent time on this property riding bike, horses, and exploring. We have turned this 13 acre property into 22 site campground that we are excited to share with you. Shower House/Bathrooms. Campers can enjoy the quiet place to relax and enjoy nature and wildlife, a perfect place for bird watching. This property has 4 camp spots. Sites 1 and 4 have a boat landing. All sites have shades trees that can hold hammocks. All sites are right next to the lake. Site 3 has a dock that all can use. There is excellent swimming with a sandy bottom at the south end of the lake. The lake is stocked with perch in 2024 but has walleye, northern, bass as well. It is also close to many lakes that are good for fishing. I have a 14' fishing boat with trolling motor, a paddle boat, 2 kayaks, and canoe for campers to use for free. Firewood is available for $5/day. There is some hiking on the property and much near by. Biking is also good with small lakes nearby to visit. The camping here is very peaceful with wonderful views and the wildlife is awesome! 120 volt power is at all sites and 220 can reach sites 2 and 3. There is warm showers and flushing toilets. Also all sites are drive through on hard ground grass. Grates are provided for cooking over the fire. There is Wi-Fi internet that reaches sites 1-3

Welcome to Fruit of the Coop! This tranquil 7-acre property is a working farm located just outside of Sioux Falls, in the watershed of the Big Sioux River. Our farm features rolling hills and groves of cottonwood and oak trees, replete with wild turkeys, deer and coyotes. Take advantage of the short walking trail, beautiful sunrises, and the gorgeous views from the fire pit. The property is on a dirt road in a development of homes, mostly on 1-2 acre parcels, located between the town of Brandon and the city of Sioux Falls. You are welcome to walk the neighborhood. Guests have access to 2 marked parking spaces on the right side of the front, paved driveway. All guests have access to the grounds. Please do not enter the farm house or any buildings on the property. You are welcome to appreciate the short, self-guided hiking trail on the farm. The trailhead can be found in the SE corner of the back yard, where the pasture fence meets the treeline. Follow the blue trail markers to the Adirondack chairs, where you can sit with a cup of coffee and enjoy the view. If you’re feeling adventurous, the trail does circle around the entire 7-acre property, ending up near the front driveway. Please note that you will have to climb over or through a triple-strand smooth wire fence at the end of the hike and you may encounter horses on the 2nd half of the trail. 2 free parking spaces on site to be shared with the Airbnb guests. If these are full, please park along the sides of the driveway so a vehicle can get through the center and please do not block any garage doors on the property. You will come across chickens, cats, turkeys, horses and dogs while on your stay. Please treat them with respect and do not chase or feed any of the animals. The horses enjoy being petted from across the fence, but please do not enter into the horse corral or pasture. Our 2 dogs roam freely on the property, as do our 2 cats. Please do not allow any of the animals inside your tent. Even though we love animals of all kinds, we cannot allow guests to bring pets of their own. We want your stay at the farm to be top notch!
