❤️ Glacier Park HipCamp 🏕️

23 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents40 acres · Coram, MT
Come enjoy peace and quiet in the beautiful meadows near our home. We are located on 40 acres that include forested trails, a large pond, two small ponds, a creek, and frequent wildlife as well as spectacular stargazing at night. All sites have a campfire ring and picnic table. We provide a unique eco-camping experience in contrast to the crowded campground/RV park, and we are only 6 miles away from the entrance to Glacier National Park! Please let us know if you have multiple tents or vehicles as some sites may be a better choice for you than others. No hookups are provided – dry camping only. Parking for larger vehicles/trailers is available at sites 1-6 - an open, flat meadow with the pond on the other side of the road. Tents are welcome in all sites; although, we recommend the back meadow sites (7 and up) for more secluded tent campers (especially in July) as it has less traffic and more privacy. Sites 7-20 (the back meadow sites) have parking for vehicles 26' or less in total length. All sites have access to vault toilets, and all sites are back-in sites with partial shade. Because of the proximity to Glacier National Park and the main HWY, traffic noise and train noise can be heard at the campsites. Visitors are ask to keep their speed to a minimum to reduce dust on the dirt on Greens Road. We are just a short bike ride away (two minutes by car) from attractions such as the Whiskey Barn, The Paul Bunyan Bar & grill, Glacier Hi-Line Ropes Course, and the Amazing Fun Center, maze, and mini golf. It is also easy access to the Gateway to Glacier Bike path. E-bike rentals are across the street from us. Closest Gas station is the Cenex in Coram (1.5 mi away). Closest public (free) landfill dump is 2.2 miles toward Columbia Falls at 9626 Us HWY 2 E. Near Paul Bunyan Bar and Grill (which is also a good restaurant near us). Look for the gated entry and small sign marking Flathead Landfill. Closest grocery is in Hungry Horse at Canyon Foods Grocery (3.5 miles away). There is a laundromat next to this grocery store. Closest dump and water fill up for a vehicle with a holding tank is Mikes Conoco at 1645 9th st W in Columbia Falls (8.9 mi away). Closest town with wifi, cafes, restaurants, urgent care and larger grocery stores is Columbia Falls (9 miles away). We sell solar shower bags, sun screen, card games, cream soda, frisbees, bug spray, coffee, firewood, and more at Sam and Molly's mercantile by our house in the middle of our property. Madison River tiny house/camp site

6 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres · Amsterdam, MT
Our property is close to town but far enough out that you feel secluded. We have wonderful dark nights with amazing views of stars. There is a fishing access a mile down the road, or you can hike to the river which is approximately 1000 feet to the river. The river isn't a real deep river, a lot of people use it to float on tubes, but it has been known to have some nice fish also. The area always gets afternoon wind gusts that happen daily and don't last long but something you'll want to be aware of. On site we have available for rent 2 tiny houses and 4 Rv hook up spots. Our property also has a yurt, an additional tiny house, a skoolie and a motorhome. If you’re wanting to just get away to a beautiful spot, take a hike along the river, float the river or fish this is your place. It’s beautiful and quiet.

The Mooseshroom

15 sites · Lodging, Tents9 acres · Coram, MT
The Mooseshroom is an awesome camping community that is just 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables for guests to use as well. We also have two yurts available for booking on our property. The Mooseshroom is a licensed business that is limited to hosting 18 guests per night. Guests should expect a quiet, peaceful camping experience with plenty of room to enjoy their surroundings. ***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. There's also a train that's fairly close. The noise kinda comes with the territory, guests are also 10 minutes from the west entrance to the park. The noise does tend to subside considerably at night, but for those bothered by this type of noise, you might consider an alternate location. Most guests are truly fine with it.

Old Town River Ranch

7 sites · RVs, Tents30 acres · Three Forks, MT
Old Town River Ranch is a serine river front escape located in beautiful Three Forks Montana. We offer a private off grid camping experience directly on the Jefferson riverfront. We provide a limited number of campsites to maintain privacy for our guests, with just three riverfront spots and three creekside spots. Large aspens and willows span the property. Plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming and wildlife viewing including bird watching. We do have a portable toilet on-site that is serviced weekly, otherwise this is a pack-in-pack-out site. Located just minutes off Interstate 90 (Exit 278) Old Town River Ranch offers a secluded getaway that’s close to all that Three Forks Montana has to offer, Sacajawea, farmers markets, shopping and Bridger Brewing for concerts and just 30 minutes to Bozeman. Stop by to see our friends at the Old Town Farm Stand just before the entry to our Ranch to get your fresh home baked goods & farm raised produce. Come stay a night, or a few, we think you'll enjoy it. Campsite & Camper Sizes. Campsites #1 #2 & #3 can accommodate large campers (up to 35 feet) with fair amount of room to maneuver. Campsite #4 is limited to Truck Campers, Sprinters or very small towables. Campsites #5 (up to 20ft) and Campsite #6 (up to 25ft) can accommodate mid-sized campers with limited but manageable room to maneuver. Notice. We implemented a comprehensive weed management program so campgrounds should be dramatically improved this year. Believe it or not some people don't know this. This is a campground on a river bottom in Montana. We keep it well but its fairly "raw" here. There can be wildlife - large & small game, maybe a few lost cows at times. There can be bugs - mosquitoes & spiders. There can be weeds. Water levels in the river vary dramatically depending on the time of year - sometimes high & fast other times low & slow. Sometimes it'll be really hot, dry & dusty, other times humid & muddy, maybe even flooded in areas, sometimes it can be cold & icy. If these things concern you it might be best to find an alternative. For everyone else, come on in and enjoy, we welcome you!

Woody's On Flathead Lake

81 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents2 acres · Somers, MT
Welcome to Woody's Basecamp, typically reserved for our tribe of wild firefighters and 1st responders, to put our cheese back on our crackers, between dispatches fighting wildfires and disasters. This is our refuge from the hurricanes that chase us, called Trauma and her cousins, Chaos and Turmoil. In memory of Hurricane Rachael. Our Dirty Secret, we survive the impossible, saving other, only to die by our own hand.......sad stats, but true. Worse yet, we can lose our careers if we seek help. This place started as a garden, Woody planted, to ground himself again, it kept growing into what it is now, because of a vision for healing. Woody carved out a mountainside, and created more gardens, where folks can come, ground and plant some good seeds through good times, camping with family and friends, open to the public. Super chill and tranquil with a great location, lake out front, hiking out back. A quiet spot, carved out of the base of a mountain. It's walking distance to the Somers Beach and Boat Launch. Blacktail Mountain is next door, Hot Springs, Glacier NP, down the road. There's plenty to do on the lake, in the mountains, or in the towns nearby. Go burn some energy and come back here to ground and re-charge. If you love quaint little towns, you'll love Somers. It offers a post office, café, bar/restaurant, hardware/lumber store, a museum, mansion and a yacht club. Culture, history and beauty here. If you love beaches, the Somers Beach is a great spot with a swimming area and place to launch paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and rafts from. There are spots tucked away next to the shoreline, among the pines, that are super sweet for picnics, or hanging out, whilst the kiddos frolic in the water. The Somers State Park is a part of a Waterfowl Preserve. It's outside of town and pretty secluded. It has a very nice sandy beach and is in a shallow cove. Likewise, it's shallow for a long ways out, so there is no boating traffic here. Perfect for SUP's, kayaker s, kids and dogs. If you love to sail, The North Flathead Yacht Club is a great place to meet locals and hitch a ride on a sailboat For whooping it up! Del's Bar is a great place. Lakeside and Big Fork offer even more, a short drive away. We even have gemstones, a roller coaster and Flathead tours.

Miner Creek Campground

7 sites · RVs, Tents60 acres · Livingston, MT
Nestled on 60 acres you'll find a private campground in a cottonwood grove just across a log bridge over Miner creek. Across the gravel driveway you'll find a second campground that is tucked back in a secluded cottonwood grove, and further down the driveway, you'll find the 3rd site. The campgrounds are 5 minutes to the charming historic downtown of Livingston and the Yellowstone River, 20 minutes to Bozeman, 20 mins to Pine Creek Lodge (great outddor concerts!) and an hour to Yellowstone National Park. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are friendly to other dogs. Our dogs freely roam the property. Miner Creek Campground #1/Creekside Oasis has a picnic table, fire ring, a hammock, solar lighting, a small portable charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal) and a shared outhouse. Although you can car camp at the # 1, please note that the camper spot is just off the driveway, and not across the creek where the tent site, picnic table and fire pit are located. Campsite 2/"Off the Beaten Path" campsite requires a short 1 minute walk through the trees from the parking area. It has a fire ring (bring your own wood), 2 camp chairs, & solar lighting. Do NOT rent this tent site if you need to be close to your car. The creek access is not at the campsite, it is down another trail off the parking area. Campsite 3/"Not for the Faint of Heart" campsite, is just that! It's a 2 minute walk from the parking spot on an uneven trail through the trees. It has a fire ring (bring your own wood), two camp chairs, solar lighting, and a small portable grill (bring your own charcoal). Do NOT rent this tent site unless you are ready, to explore and do not need to be close by your car. Make sure you arrive before dark because although the trail is lit by solar lights even with headlamps it can be tricky to find your way through the trees. The trail is tight and uneven and closed-toed shoes are highly recommended. The creek is not right by the tent site like it is in campsite #1. There is a small break in the bushes that gives creek access. For all sites we recommend storing your food in your vehicle overnight. All sites share a portalet that is located in a common parking area by the trail to camp #2.

Rainbow Gulch Farm

6 sites · RVs, Tents21 acres · Clinton, MT
A small family farm working toward sustainability. Easy to access from I-90, drive in camping for a stop overnight or a home base while you explore the many attractions nearby. Learn more about this land: We are 20 miles east of Missoula, MT near the Kettlehouse Ampitheater in Bonner. Our location is halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. There are mountain bike paths, river access points for paddling, rafting or fishing within minutes of our land. We can even help you know where to go. Our land is surrounded by Nature Conservancy land with a public recreation easement, so you can hike and take your horse for a ride very easily, just let us know and we will point you in the right direction. Our child had a significant medical emergency that required a lot of travel to Seattle Children's and 3 brain surgeries all year, so we don't have the active garden going this year, but the chickens and sheep are happy. In a vehicle, you can pull into one of our pastures for your stay. Where you are depends on which field the sheep are eating! Tents also work in the field. We do not have any hookups. The fields are that - pasture fields. There are quiet neighbors across the fence. We are happy to offer advice about local attractions via messaging. This is pack it in, pack it out During the pandemic we ask that you wear a face covering if you have a reason to talk with us, even across the fence out of an abundance of caution since most of you are traveling from out of state. Tours are also temporarily suspended.
