Another year kicking off the summer at forest echo and we couldn't have had a better time! Caretakers are always amazing and kind, the chickens laid a special "mini egg" and Scott went out of his was to give it to my daughter. You can't beat the farm fresh eggs for breakfast. As always, will absolutely return!

Had an awesome stay at the Pine Cone Cabin. The land was perfect for a short weekend trip with some friends. The cabin was very convenient and comfortable. Fire pit was awesome! Would definitely go again.

Rustic cabin with a stocked kitchen, amazing fireplace and my favorite, the sleeping porch. Situated 0n acres of gorgeous property ours to explore - hime, swim, paddle or just relax. Scott and Rose were lovely at check-in, could t have asked for nicer hosts. Perfect way to truly disconnect - no WiFi or strong cell service, just peace and quiet. I read an entire book yesterday - that hasn’t happened in years!

Beautiful and quiet piece of land, craftsmanship and coziness of the cabin was breathtaking. Lots of amazing hikes around as well as the state park across the street. Will definitely be back!

3 nights at Forest Echo Cabins

We had a great time at Forest Echo and can't wait to go back! The property is absolutely gorgeous. The cabin was so very comfortable and the cleanest of any hipcamp cabin I've visited. The forest and land is beautifully cared for, and I loved the flowers and ferns around the cabin. The lake was beautiful and perfect for canoeing and kayaking while the farm pond was picturesque for sitting and relaxing and a fun swim spot too. The people were extremely kind, welcoming and helpful! The hike down to the lake isn't an issue for most people, especially not active ones. However, if you have mobility or breathing problems it may be difficult. We still made it without a problem, but some may find it difficult.

This was one of my favorite camping experiences ever! The Little Cabin was charming and super comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, and the toilets were among the cleanest outdoor facilities I’ve ever used—bonus points for the complementary hygiene products, which were a very thoughtful and nice touch. I hope to have the opportunity to come back soon and bring along some of my favorite people to share in the experience!

3 nights at MalloRied Sugarwoods Cabin

This sweet little cabin was exactly what we needed to get out into the woods despite a ton of rain. We stayed dry and cozy and still got to unplug and unwind and enjoy nature. The cabin is fully stocked very clean and very comfortable. We were even able to have a couple campfires since there is a large covered dry wood pile. Road in is steep and tricky but no problem for our full size 4x4 pickup truck. Darren was the perfect host with tons of great recommendations and super communicative. Quick to respond to any questions we had. The cabin and site were spotless when we arrived and so peaceful. Lots to do in the area!

I stayed here with my adventure cat for a peaceful birthday weekend, and while it rained too much for the hiking I'd anticipated, it was so cozy to read and only hear the sound of rain and birdsong. Great little hut in the woods! It had all the essentials as well as various games and entertainment. We went during a rainy day so it was nice to stay dry. Solar lights did not work when we went, but there were several lanterns. It got stuffy in there at night, so a little window crack could be nice. Worth the view!

Everything was perfect and well taken care of. The cabin was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The showers and outhouse were very close to cabin. I have to say, the outhouse was the best rustic design I’ve seen. The grounds were so peaceful and private. We didn’t use the tent sites but they looked perfect also. It’s very relaxed there. Very few demands of the guests. The trails lead right from the door and were well planned, extensive and had something for all levels. They were scenic, technical. expansive. Trails for days. We will be going back.

We loved this little unplugged cabin in the woods! Lorraine is a wonderful host and was so kind and caring. The cabin has literally everything you need which was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Forest Echo Cabins

My family and I had a great time in the Ripley Hill cabin! We stayed here last year and loved it so much that we came back and brought along my sister’s two teenagers. There was plenty of room for all of us, a nice newly renovated bathroom, and the fireplace came in super handy for the chilly nights we had. So much of what we needed was already there, such as kitchen equipment, lighting, games and cleaning supplies, plus lots more. The hosts were very kind and accommodating even though we forgot to text before we left. Thank you!

This spot is an outdoors lover’s dream! You are a walk or bike ride away to hikes and trails. Also, the town of Poultney is 3.4~ miles away. There is an amazing used book store and some nice little diner spots. Oh yeah, the cabin is awesome too! On my first night I jumped in the canoe and just bopped around on the pond. It has everything one human could want. I love this spot, and I will be back!

We loved this sweet little cabin on Caitrin and Hardy’s gorgeous property. The bed was comfy and having mini fridge, power outlets and a hot water kettle made are our “camping” weekend feel luxurious. We loved the big windows and waking up to beautiful nature right outside the door as well as the direct access to the Slate Valley mountain biking trails. Can’t wait for our next stay here!

It is within driving distance of larger towns like Rutland and Killington, Middlebury, Waitsfield, and Warren, and West Lebanon NH for day trips. Public transportation is a 20+ minute drive away - a vehicle is necessary (4-wheel drive and snow tires are required in the winter months). Parking for 1-2 vehicles is available. The owner has golden retriever (Kodak) - he is friendly and (usually!) well-behaved but does bark and run to greet you, so please drive slowly and don't be alarmed! You’ll arrive to a cozy cabin that can comfortably sleep 2, or up to 4 if needed, equipped with a potbelly stove and basic cooking equipment.The mountain, once a source of wood for the Stanley Tool factory and a site for bridle trails in the summer and Nordic skiing in the winter, is now best known as a the birthplace of the Spartan Race and host of the infamous Death Races, as well being a popular mountain biking destination called the Green Mountain Trails. The trail system boasts 25 miles of flowy trails for all abilities as well as a stone staircase climbing from the base to the top of the trails at Shrek’s Stone Hut. Awake to an incredible sunrise and panoramic Green Mountain views after a night underneath a starry dome unblemished by city lights. Chilly evenings in the hut are easily tempered by a pot belly stove fed by seasoned wood. A built in bunk accommodates two people, but it’s possible to sleep up to four guests.

A former farm now a 150 acre forested retreat. Mt Ascutney, a 3500' monadnock is to the north and view in excess of 60 miles to the south. Dogs, we have inherited a dog that is not fond of other dogs. If you are coming to the pond or just walking by please let us know so we can make sure our dog is inside. Phone numbers on the wall of the cabin. The road has gotten quite rough with all the wet weather. 4wd with ground clearance is recommended. Total trip from our house is 320yd if your car is not up to the trip in. Curl up in front of the fire and relax. Marsh Billings farm museum in Woodstock has lots of Vermont Country store is close and Woodstock has unique shopping. Spacious one room camp, bunk bed, dinning table, and chairs. Sweeping view to the South. Swimming pond 5 minute walk. LP burner and some cooking utensils. Wood stove for those chilly nights. No electricity but LED battery lighting. l. Note that we do not charge a cleaning fee like some sites. We appreciate our guest leaving the camp as found. So far so good! Camp has the following: LP 2 burner cook top, pots and pans, dishes, flat ware, some spices and such. Fresh clean water will be at the camp when you arrive. The furnished jugs have been cleaned. If you still wish to bring your own drinking water please do so in reusable jugs. We are trying to limit plastic use. NOTE: Using GPS, Google map, or other device our address may come up as Perkinsville, Ascutney, or even Springfield even though the town is Weathersfield. Check the map and just confirm that Center Grove Rd is shown or called out as off of Weathersfield Center Rd. We DO NOT furnish wood for the outside fire pit. There is plenty of wood to scavenge on site. There is a small buck saw in the cubby. However if it has rained or raining you may want to bring kindling wood. We now have slab wood for sale if you do not want to rummage for wood in the forest PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN KINDLING WOOD FOR THE STOVE. Chunk wood is furnished for the inside stove. There is a splitting maul, snow shovel, and hatchet Check in and out times are flexible if no one is booked on either side. And last but not least if wedding bells are in your future your host is a Justice of the Peace and can perform wedding services!

The Guide Cabin On Honcho Mountain

The Guide Cabin is accessed via a half snowshoe/hike/bike from the Rt100 killington . You must snowshoe or ski up in the winter, and you must hike or bike up in the summer. It is carry in and carry out for all your belongings. Vehicles are not permitted on the trails. BACKCOUNTRY SKIING IS ONLY PERMITTED WITH A GUIDE. Skiing gladed ski runs requires a guide and is not included in the cabin rental. For more information, please contact us for more information and check out our backcountry skiing page. No walking or snowshoeing on the groomed ski trails. Check in is after 3 pm and check out is 10 am. Day time check-in is strongly encouraged! Parking: Overnight parking for cabin guests is located at the trail head on Route 100 (details in confirmation email) Directions to Cabin: You will be emailed specific directions to the cabin after booking your reservation, including GPS coordinates. In general, there are two common ways to get to the cabin: No driving or ATV’s allowed to get to the cabin, you must hike/bike/ski/snowshoe in. No snowshoeing or hiking on the ski trails. No Pets Heat: The cabin is heated with a wood stove, and instructions are provided inside. You should be comfortable operating a wood stove if you are reserving the Guide Cabin.
