We love staying at this location.it is close to clear creek state park and cooks forest.The campsite is level with stone down,it has electric and good well water.The site is surrounded by the forest and is still far enough away from the crowds of people.The owners are very easy to deal with and we have never had to call them for any issues at the site. Had a wonderful time camping at Chris’ land. The stargazing is no joke! Once it gets dark the field is full of so many constellations. Comfortable set up. Best compost toilet Iv’e ever used. Chris was very nice.

Was a perfect weekend getaway! Our top of the jeep tent worked perfect. Campsite was clean, beautiful setting, level enough and well maintained. Was wonderful to meet Chris and his family - most gracious hosts. Enjoyed just relaxing and meandering through the woods and meadow on easy to follow trails. Loved finding the falls and appreciated the little bridge and steps down. Only con was little bit noisy and that was maybe due to holiday weekend. Lot of ATV or maybe dirt bike noise carried up through the canyon and Sunday shooting at the firing range. None of that under Chris’s control and wasn’t unbearable but it was unexpected. Saw deer and awoke to birds singing. Even heard an owl Saturday night which was super cool. Campsites are spaced to where you don’t hear one another with plenty of elbow room. Wish could have seen more of the river from the site but can’t complain about the lush foliage can we?? Overall loved it and shout out to Chris and his family for their hospitality and for all the work they have put in. Great people! Of note, there is a porta potty kinda centrally located for all the sites to access BUT just easier to find a secluded spot on your own without making that walk.

John, the host, is very responsive and kind. I arrived in a Sedan on a rainy day and he was very accommodating. He helped move my gear to the site. The compost toilet is very clean and doesn't smell bad. The compost toilet is pitch dark even during the day so I highly recommend bringing some sort of hanging lantern with you. The site was clean, well kept, and wide. You'll be on grass which acts as a lovely cushion. The space between you and possible neighbors is very generous. The views at night are spectacular. The views of the land during the day is peaceful. It's very quiet at night. During the day, you'll occasionally hear side-by-side, and ATV driving on the access road if you're at a walk in site. There's no Internet here so it's a good time to disconnect. Overall, my stay was pleasant and I recommend this.

We loved it! Even our 13 year old pooch was exploring like a puppy again! We love isolation and this place (site 1) was ideal. We brought our pop up trailer and it felt like we had an “upstairs and a downstairs” with the tent site below. You are on a live Christmas tree farm which made the scenery that much prettier! Would totally come back!

We absolutely loved our stay at River’s Edge on the Canal! Thomas was an exceptional host—friendly, welcoming, and incredibly generous. Our site was beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared with little extras that made a big difference. He went above and beyond by including a BBQ grill, extra firewood, and even allowing us a late checkout, which was a huge help. He also provided access to showers, which we really appreciated. Thomas truly made our stay special, and we can’t wait to come back!

Great place and Mel is awsome. Live the streams and so did my dog. Lots of respect for her after her home burned to the ground and then being flooded out she still makes sure all campers are ok and taken care of. Thank you for opening up your property.

Our site was in the corner of the lot and felt quite private with our own fire pit and lots of cute little evergreen trees around. Plenty of space for our tent, cooking station, and vehicle. We had a great time at site 3! The setup was very thoughtful, with a fire pit, wash up station, and amazing views of the tree farm and hawk mountain. Privacy is great and river access is separate for each camp site. Added bonus: Only a few minutes away from Cabela’s in case you forgot to bring something! Would absolutely return when warmer to take a dip in the river!

This site is a beautiful space to camp and relax. You can hear the cows moo off in the distance and the rooster isn’t too loud either. The pond is beautiful and the sunsets are stunning.

this was one of our favorite campsites we’ve seen! the space was so secluded & peaceful, it was everything we could’ve ever imagined. the host was so responsive, made sure we were in good hands, and was so accommodating for our spontaneous last minute trip!! (: we will 1000% be staying here again in the near future, and will be recommending it to anyone and everyone. we also stopped at the crows cupboard in the afternoon for coffee and pastries, and had the most lovely time there. the owner was so kind, genuine, and ensured we had everything we needed and more. thank you chris for a lovely time on your campsite! We had a group not understand this so I want to make sure it is clear. Firewood is for sale here for CASH! Please bring CASH with you. Sixty acres of magical trees, a one acre pond, and a three acre field. From the road there is a two hundred foot elevation gain to the top of the hill. Along the way are several hundred feet of rock ledges, caves, and critters. Most of the land is sloping, but the hilltop is flat as a table, with prehistoric-looking ferns under a dense canopy of mature trees. The campsites are ultra secluded- about a quarter mile apart from each other. All sites include a fire pit, cooking grate, picnic table, and sites 2&3 have platforms. Camp ONE: is on the top of the hill, and a small car can be driven to within 150 feet of it. It is pretty flat, and surrounded by blackberry bushes, ferns, and trees. Camp TWO: is on a bluff overlooking a picturesque swamp, filled with hemlock trees and ferns. This site can not be driven to with anything less than a high clearance SUV (ie- jeep wrangler), so I consider it a hike in site. It is under a ten minute walk from the pond and parking lot, but the view and feel is worth it. (It has been brought to our attention that there is occasionally a group riding atvs on a neighboring property that are audible from this site. We have no control over what time it happens, so please keep this in mind) Camp THREE: is accessible with a four wheel drive vehicle, something at least as high as an SUV. It is the closest to the house and pond, but still far enough to feel secluded and completely private. If you choose to walk there, it’s only a couple minutes from the parking area. Throughout the property, there are many quiet places to hang out, flat spots to do yoga, trails to explore, and fishing and swimming in the beautiful pond. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. All camp sites are on the eastern border and close to the main road to access property. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest, watch nature's critters, read or just relax in a hammock. No hunting on property but fishing permitted along "river" aka Red Bank Creek. Please keep fires in firepit and noise levels low. Stay on 10 beautiful acres of rustic, private land with many good camping spots to choose from in grassy areas with lots of trees. Enjoy boating/fishing/swimming. We have a gazebo at the lake shore, and an anchored swimming float. Kayaks, canoe, rowboat, and peddle boat are available. Lots of wildlife around the lake to enjoy. Campfire ring, water spigot (private drilled well) and electric available on the property. Neighbor cottage partially visible, but our property is pretty secluded and private. Picnic tables and chairs provided. Well behaved pets okay, leashes may be required. Mostly level terrain, ample parking area. Very peaceful here. My favorite place to relax, with a guitar and a glass of wine! Choose your own campsite; spots are reasonably private and secluded. Mowed paths throughout camping section; both sunny and shady spots on both sides of stream. The lake and dock area and the boats, the gazebo, and metal fire ring and picnic tables, are communal. Parking is in a large gravel area behind cottage. Campsites are located across a small stream, easily accessible (less than a 3 min walk) from the parking area. Path immediately next to parking leads to a nice camping area alongside stream. Truck and car-top tents in the parking area may be allowed upon request. We ask that cars stay in the parking area, but there is a wheelbarrow for use in transporting your gear to the spot you choose. There is no bathroom. (Cottage is private.) You must pack it out, or bring your own portable toilet with disposable liner bags. Trash and recycling cans are provided. No shower, but the lake is great for swimming.

Austin Dam Memorial Park

Just outside the quaint town of Austin sits a vivid reminder of one of Pennsylvania's worst disasters – the Austin Flood. In 1909, the dam was constructed on Freeman Run to power the Bayless Papermill downstream. Many wondered if the dam was safe. On September 30, 1911, Austin found out. Poor construction, coupled with torrential rain, resulted in the dam's collapse. Nearly 400 million gallons of water were released, destroying everything for 8 miles. At least 78 people perished in the tragedy. It was the second worst flood disaster in Pennsylvania's history and sixth worst dam failure in U.S. history. The tragedy sparked new legislation to improve dam safety, and the Austin Dam was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The ruins of the dam still stand, surrounded by a 76-acre park, as a tribute to the lives lost in the Austin Flood. Don't miss one of Potter County's best kept secrets!

Originally opened as a family campground owned and operated by Denis and Kay Snyder in 1964. Bald Eagle Campsite has been owned and operated by the Snyder family to this day! Come join us in the beautiful forested landscape of Central Pennsylvania. Located a mere 20 miles south of Penn State University, we are surrounded by the many amenities Central PA has to offer. We are welcoming to LGBTQ+ campers as well as all ethnicities. Pitch a tent on a quiet site and drop a line into one of our two trout streams crossing the campground. Hang a hammock between two towering poplar trees surrounded by flowering rhododendron. Or pull up in your camper and relax before and after a Penn State Football game under the blue and white sky. We have small, secluded sites to get away from it all, as well as conjoined sites to accommodate larger groups. On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards. For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent. Campers must be less than 25 feet. Generators are not allowed. Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm. There are no water hookups. Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons. Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350. Our sites are wheelchair accessible, but the bathrooms and showers do have one step up into them. Walk to Snappy's 24-hour convenience store to use their free Wi-Fi, buy bags of ice, or to pickup snacks and a sub in the attached Snappy's Grille. An ice cream stand and restaurant are within walking distance. We require a minimum two nights stay for the recognized holiday weekends for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

River Hills Above the Allegheny

Located just outside of Parker, PA and 25 minutes from I-80, our campsite is very accessible, yet still very remote. With 4 campsites on 75 acres, guests have ample privacy and space, with the freedom to roam this posted property that has no homes on it. Perched high above the Allegheny there are several spots to take in the wonderful views. There is also a waterfall with a 3’ deep pool below it. Great for splashing with kids or dogs, guests love exploring the creek bottom and making new discoveries. The more curious guests sometimes find the ruins of the original homestead, chimney and spring house that sit upstream. The property is teeming with wildlife. Birds and tree frogs will be the soundtrack of your visit, and often deer will be seen nosing along the outskirts of your site in the mornings and evenings. The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. We are a working blueberry and flower farm near the town of Tunkhannock, in the Endless Mountains Region of Pennsylvania. We also have nature and some fun recreational opportunities both on property and close by. On our property we have an 18 hole disc golf course (more info can be found on Udisc or Facebook page "Campsite Disc Golf"). The course has all PDGA approved chain baskets with wood chip or grass tee boxes. We are constantly upgrading the course, it gets better every year! We have some beautiful places for walks (or easy hikes) including walking the course even if you don't play disc golf....it makes for some nice clear trails through the woods. There is a 2 1/2 acre pond where you are welcome to kayak, canoe or paddleboard. A 10 acre swamp, a small creek (that does often dry up in the summer....it's beautiful in the spring), and bountiful wildlife. Nearby are many more recreational opportunities. Within driving distances varying from 5 minutes to an hour (most things within 20 minutes) are a river, two creeks, several lakes (all with public boat access, some with swimming), hiking and biking trails, wineries, brewery, restaurants, a movie theater and shopping (grocery stores and the small downtown are less than 10 minutes). We can provide more information and directions for any activities you are interested in. Our private road which leads to the areas available for camping has only one resident who lives past (with access rights to use the road to get to his property) so it is secluded with no traffic. It can be very dark on moonless nights which is fantastic for stargazing. Intrepid winter campers will find the sky is most crisp clear and incredible in the winter....but the summer is still quite spectacular. Blueberry season is all of July and spilling into August (although winding down by then). During that time the Grassy corner site is more out of the way and quieter. The Most Convenient Woods is close but separate, no one except a passing disc golfer can easily look into your site. You will hear activity in the blueberry field during the day. Possibly including a noise maker that makes a periodic boom in the mornings to keep the birds from stealing all the berries (we are looking for quieter bird scaring options for the future). We try to keep that to a minimum especially if campers are present but can't promise silence. The noise maker is turned off as soon as customers are present so it is just a little while in the morning.
