we enjoyed fireside camp and lodge! the shower was beautiful, the hot water was scalding though even on the lowest setting so we just took cold showers. the picnic table also tipped over on us because we were sitting together on one side of it, so be careful with the picnic tables. everything else was beautiful though

Easy in and out. The horses are absolutely adorable. I didn't spend much time walking around but the horses are worth the visit. Look for the 2 red wagon wheels.

Easy to access. Lots of spaces to choose from. Quiet. Didn’t use the shower but did use the porta potty, which was nice. Well situated to Foster Falls and Fiery Gizzard trails. Would stay here again!

We had the most wonderful time at River Life RV Resort. It’s a great place to take in nature’s true beauty. Laura and Delon were the most amazing hosts! We loved that our dogs could be off leash, running around with other dogs on the property. We hope to return again soon!

The view from the top campsites is amazing. Access to the camps from a paved road is very easy. Power connection conveniently located to RV sites. The outhouse was clean and close, but too close to campsites. During our 3 day stay it was quiet and peaceful. The road noise is present, but not persistent.

I love staying at Running Water Creek. As always, the bathhouse was an amazing addition to my experience.

Wow ! This was the most peaceful and beautiful place ever. There’s so much to explore ! The waterfall is so beautiful, the trees, all the camp grounds, & most importantly, the people. Grant and Becky were great hosts. Very nice people and as a girl who camped alone in my car, I felt extremely safe. Thank you. I can’t wait to go back !

After Bonnaroo was cancelled, we were in search of another place to camp for the remainder of the weekend. This site is so cool. It was a much more relaxing change of pace for our weekend with great access to nearby hiking and a great waterfall/swimming hole. The hosts were super responsive and accommodating. Such a relaxing getaway. It’s well kept and quiet. This will forever be the place my dog learned to balance on the paddle board! No one else was there when I was but the sites are well spaced for privacy. Would definitely come here again.

We loved tent camping here! Plenty of space for us and our two dogs! Fun fairy houses and mushrooms to find and there is a huge waterfall near one of the other sites on the property - about a 10 min walk away.

Weekend Trip to Elk Head Overlook

My family loved camping at Elk Head. The scenery was beautiful..it was peaceful and quiet. I accidentally booked the wrong site (non-electrical) and the host graciously fixed it for me. We went down there for Bonnaroo and unfortunately it got canceled so we ended up leaving a night early. The host generously provided us a refund even though it was absolutely no fault or her own. I would recommend this place and we would definitely stay here again.

1 night at Campsites Fall Creek Falls Stables

Dale welcomed us upon arrival. The sites were clean, and well appointed. A BBQ grill/fire pit, with wood ready to burn. A beautiful forested private setting, with a large picnic table, convenient hook ups and exceptional water pressure. The bath house is clean and well designed. We really enjoyed our stay for the strawberry full moon. The night bird calls and the fireflies were an added bonus. We also took a ride with Dallas (guide), Big Red horse and Rocky at the stables. The horses were well behaved and Dallas was knowledgeable and kind. We enjoyed the many flowers, mushrooms, and beautiful trees. We definitely plan to return.

Chris is an amazing host. Very informative and helpful. The campsite was very private and beautiful. The river is very calming and peaceful. For deep woods camping it is awesome. I will definitely be going back and already recommend to my friends.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Howlin Hills. Jenny was a gracious host that made sure we had everything we needed. The sites are nicely laid out and right along the river. Campers can enjoy a relaxing day of fishing and floating! The porta John’s were kept clean and the spring fed showers were refreshing after a hot and humid day in the sun! We will definitely be visiting again.

Little Bone Cave campground is in the mountains of Tennessee with hiking trails and a beautiful view located on 16 acres. This campground adjoins Bone Cave State Natural Area located in Van Buren County. Big Bone Cave is a 400 acre natural area with trails and a cave that contained bones of a giant ground sloth discovered in 1811 and is maintained by Rock Island State Park. The cave is not currently open to the public. Rock Island State Park (swimming, fishing and hiking) is only 6 miles from the campground and Fall Creek Falls State Park (swimming, fishing, hiking and home of the Annual Mountaineer Folk Festival) is a beautiful 25 mile drive through the winding roads and mountains of Van Buren county. A public boat ramp maintained by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is two miles away to access the Caney Fork River. Come enjoy with friends and family. Campsite #1, "Valley View" is a Rv with 30 amp electric with sewer and water or it can be a primitive campsite that is a wide open space and is approximately 1-2 acres with a beautiful view overlooking the valley below. We do have electric, sewer and water 340 gl tank with a hose, a picnic table and a fire ring at this site. if you'd prefer, you can locate a spot of your choosing off the beaten path anywhere within our 16 acres (ask the hostess for details). Running Water Creek

Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

Elk Head Overlook

Relax on the side of the Cumberland Plateau while overlooking Burroughs Cove and the Elk River. You can see the sites from the main road, if you find yourself on a gravel road for more than 50ft, STOP and verify the address. Sites 1/2 are hard graveled, heavy duty tent stakes are recommended along with mats/padding. There is an electrical box at each end of the hard graveled parking and tent areas (Sites 1 and 2) with 20- and 30-amp plugs, plus 110v. If the power is not working, please check the panel and turn on/reset the breakers, many of our guests turn them off when departing. If you are at Site #2 and the steps above do not work, please check/do the same at the Site #1 panel (it is the master power source). Water is NOT available on site. NOTE: Depending on the time of year (warmer months only) a water container with a limited amount of NON-POTABLE water is on site for your use. Please plan on filling your water reservoir(s) PRIOR to arriving. There is an outhouse for all guests, picnic tables and fire rings for Sites 1 and 2. The camping area is fairly close to SR-50 so please expect to hear some road noise, more so in the winter months. The entrance/driveway is on a small incline, if you are traveling in a light vehicle and a heavy camper, it's best to maintain a slow and steady speed to the camp site (for almost everyone, this is not an issue). If you are towing a camper, we recommend the total length of the vehicle and the trailer not exceeding 30ft, longer set ups can (and have been used) without issue. However, there is not a significant place to "turn around" at the sites and novice drivers (not used to backing out of tight spots with long rigs) may find this very challenging. There is a double gate that is usually closed, and latched so it stays closed, it is not "locked". The site is self-serve (not manned), Site #1 is to the left, Site #2 is to the right, and Site #3 is down the path past the outhouse at the bottom of the path. It is recommended that campers set up early for Site 3 (still daylight) to get an idea of the layout. Parking for Site #3 is by the shed at the main entrance and power is not available at the site.

It over 900 acres of private forested land on Whitwell Mountain, which is part of the Cumberland Plateau in Southeast Tennessee. Take a hike on miles of trails comprised of forest paths, old wagon roads, or coal mining roads. If you find a chunk of coal on the ground feel free to take it home with you as a souvenir. If you are a history buff, you may be interested in discovering previous caretakers from the late 1800's and early 1900's in nearby cemeteries. The camp ground is on top of a mountain, and you will have to go through a locked gate and drive over a mile and half on a bumpy gravel/dirt road. You will be most comfortable in a vehicle that is suitable for rugged terrain. Day trips less than an hour away include the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Nickajack Lake and Bat Cave among many others. All other cell services do not work. We love the creek and our secluded valley. Only a few farmers live down the road. This makes for a very private experience that can be naturalist / clothing optional friendly. The creek is secluded with plenty of trees to enjoy however you wish. Spaces are extremely level and there are good Satellite tv abilities. We have firewood on site and two stone fire pits. Nearby is a wonderful old grist mill, Tim's Ford state park, Tim's Ford lake, Jack Daniels Distillery and other attractions. We are also about 45 minutes from Huntsville, AL with the NASA Space and Science Center. Space #1 is closest to the road. Space #2 has a larger patio. This retreat is the Perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet not too far away from essentials. Hiking adventures nearby include University of the South Domain, Buggy Top, Walls Of Jerico and many more. 30 and 50 Amp pedestals at each site along with water and sewer hookups. Level sites. Due to health regulations, we only accept RVs with a pottie system as we do not offer bathroom facilities.
