I loved tent camping on Shayna’s property! She was super friendly and the property was absolutely beautiful! There were a few other groups camping the same night as our group, but it was still very quiet and peaceful. This site was really close to Pioneertown, which was great. Thanks Shayna!

Boulder Nook
We had a great time spending the weekend at the sanctuary, if you're looking for a place to unplug and connect to the desert, I highly reccomend it. Everyone there is very welcoming, one of the local dogs took us on a hike and dropped us back off at our campsite, you can tell he has done that before. The boulder nook site was private but primative so make sure you bring everything you need. Would love to visit again soon.

The Boulder Valley
This property is a true sanctuary of natural desert boulder beauty and panoramas so be prepared to take lots of stunning pictures from sunrise to sunset.
It is also a sanctuary of quiet for rest, refresh and recharging the soul.
Occasionally this can be interrupted by a high flying jet liner, but mostly the only sound you will hear are the desert birds and sometimes the communities peacocks.
Exploring among the boulder ridges was wonderful.
Shayna is a wonderful caring host and made sure the camp site was exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks to the owner and Shayna for a much needed sanctuary away from the rat race of city life.

This is a really beautiful spot with hosts & caretakers who clearly love the land they are tending. Much care has gone into making this a great experience for everyone who visits. We can't wait to go back. Thanks to Shayna et al., including Budda. We had a great experience.

I had a great experience camping on the property! The land is super beautiful and Shayna was a very welcoming host. I only booked for one night but I would definitely stay again and for a couple more days next time :)

This property is indeed a sanctuary. Great hiking and vistas on the property. My campsite was very comfortable and quiet, with good solitude. The community that lives on the property are very welcoming and hospitable. And they are very respectful of your space and privacy. Shayna and Robert are great hosts. I appreciated the conversations with Robert & Rick.

Unique remote spot. The view is great and it is so silent and calm. Some tips for future campers. You do have to take unpaved dirt roads for a few miles to get to the site. I was fine in my 2wd sedan. The dome has two windows that are missing coverings so wind does get through. I tried camping without a tent the first night but found it too cold for me. There is a picnic table and benches for you to use. I also found that I got a little bit of cell reception at the picnic table overlooking the view. Nice to know it’s there if needed. Might vary based on the phone carrier you have. It worked w t mobile.

Shayna & robert were the nicest host/owner of this 600 acre sanctuary. I’ve never experienced anything like this when it came to camping. I was nestled in with 50 foot boulder surrounding me and it was so peaceful.
Even the restrooms were very clean and well kept.
I’m definitely going back and be sure to leave a generous donation.

I stayed at the primitive campsite here, and it was amazing. The site felt very private and it was the perfect spot to just sit out and stargaze. I only stayed one night, but I wish I stayed longer to explore the land more! You could get amazing views of the sunrise and sunset throughout the property.

Shayna is a wonderful lady with excellent hospitality, really welcoming and show us around. Such a gem here we had such unique experience and great time! One of the best camping experiences, beside this time of year the weather is still cold but staying in the dome in a cold day made it wonderful.

Shayna was so wonderful. She greeted us and upgraded us to the Overlook site with amazing views. The site was clean and quiet with lots of space to explore to beautiful rock collections. This beats the overcrowded Joshua Tree any day.

Pure magic! It is like Joshua Tree without any crowds. The people caring for the land are incredible souls who are so excited to share this special place. The views breathtaking. The drive out includes some dirt roads that make it feel like an adventure.

I spent the better part of my three day weekend enjoying the outdoors at the foot of some epic boulders. I could not ask for a more stunning, isolated and tranquil location away from JTNP.
As a first time visitor and coming late from work, I navigated through a mile or two of dirt roads getting to the sanctuary later than expected. Shayna was in touch early on to check on my ETA and met me on arrival. She gave me the highlights and details of the location and escorted me to my campsite. While we only met briefly, she set the tone for my stay with her positive vibe and helpfulness.
If you are into primitive or dry camping, this spot is an excellent alternative to the constantly booked Jumbo Rocks site in JTNP. I’ll be booking another stay shortly as three days was nowhere enough time to appreciate this unique location.

We loved camping here. My partner and I camped in our sprinter van which worked out perfect cause it was a bit windy, so if your tent camping prepare for a bit of wind. (Mid February) Beautiful land, great/friendly staff, lots of area to explore. Definitely will come back

Overall it was a beautiful stay at the Boulder Garden Sanctuary Geodome. The dome really makes you feel like you have a home and then your tent is your room haha.
FYI if you are coming for Joshua Tree just know it’s about 30-40min drive from the park. But the drive in the morning is absolutely gorgeous so we didn’t mind. Everyone we met was extremely kind and welcoming.

Awesome place. Feels both really safe and so secluded. You can only see nature once you're at the site yet you're not far from the hosts or other campers. If you're looking for somewhere really peaceful and quiet then this is it!
