The ocean view tents sites were STUNNING and I loved the surf outpost shop in case we forgot anything. However, we were crammed in extremely close to the tents next to us. If you're wanting privacy, this may not be the place for you.

loved our stay here! beautiful and very clean facility. we were there over MDW and they had hot dogs and a taco cart.. nice grass area where kids can play. loved the very well curated general store. walked down the path to the beach and malibu seafood - a perfect malibu experience! book the ocean view if you can - so worth it. felt very safe… some highway noise but goes away at night. will be back!!

I loved that the facility’s were clean and workers were kind. Facility has water hose access and electrical plugs available for extension cords at each camp ground. Great views of the water.

I loved my spot - privately tucked into lush flowering plants with gorgeous ocean views where I watched dolphins from the picnic table. Steps from a pathway to trails, seafood restaurant and the beach. I was working from my van for the week. Wifi was strong first few days but then got spotty when more people came but the public library down the road had good wifi from the parking lot. Would definitely stay here again!

Not worth the price — should be no more than $50/night
The location is great and you can see the ocean, but that’s about the only upside.
The campground is very poorly maintained:
- The restrooms are dirty, and many of the showers are either broken or have no pressure when others are using water.
- The sites are extremely close to each other, with no privacy and a lot of noise at night: people walking past your tent to get to the bathrooms, loud groups playing music and talking late.
- The sites themselves are tiny, uneven, and vary wildly in size.
- No shade, no privacy, and unclear information online (especially about dogs).
- none service offer (e.g coffee like in most of the places in California)
There is hot water, yes, but overall this place is a complete rip-off.
Very poor value for money, honestly feels like a scam.

Great views, great camping shop. I like that cars weren’t parked up at the sites. Good bathroom, shower and dish cleaning amenities. Beach across the street is ok, but we drove down to the larger nicer Zuma beach. We will definitely be back

Loved camping here! They have a designated area for rooftop tents where you can see the ocean, the sunset was magical. The bathrooms were clean, hot showers, have your own picnic table, and the surf outpost store is really cute. Felt very safe as a solo traveler. Will absolutely return again.

Great spot! They have a small tent camping area and while the spots are very compact, there weren’t many people there (April 2025). About half the spots taken so it was fine. Amazing grassy area down by the RVs. Bathrooms are immaculate and the showers are perfect (free and hot)

I can highly recommend this location. I am in a Class B van. I snagged an ocean view spot. They put the work in to get the sites nice and level, so I didn't even have to use blocks at all. Spent three days working from the van and in the afternoons exploring the beaches and hills. I even took my first surfing lesson. Staff are kind and helpful. Laundry, bathroom, and showers are clean. Had good friendly interactions with other campers.

A hidden gem for sure! Beautiful views, clean facilities (with showers), full hook-ups, and friendly staff. The location is amazing, steps from the beach. The convenience store is cute and has variety of snacks, food, and drinks. Definitely would come back!

The facilities were great. Clean restrooms, wheel barrows to bring equipment to our site, and the little grocery store was very cute and had lots of handy essentials. The staff was friendly and the view was beautiful.

The tent camping experience was great! It's all the way at the top and provides a great view of the area. There are carts for easy transportation of your belongings. The front desk has a mini mart if you forgot to bring anything.

Me and my partner were struggling to find somewhere to camp for the night and we wanted to see Malibu! I’m so glad we found this place, it’s truly beautiful! The scenery is stunning and the staff/people staying at the site were all super welcoming and nice. I’ve seen some previous reviews about space and saying it seemed cramped etc. I personally thought there is more than enough space to accommodate. Would 100% recommended staying here if passing through Malibu, it is slightly pricey but worth every penny in my opinion. 😊

Wow! Excellent views, quiet park, clean, well maintained and excellent facilities. They even had live music in the picnic area and texted us to let us know the details. There's also a nice trail around the park and it leads to the seafood restaurant next door.

I loved tent camping here! I stayed at Tent No View, but still had a beautiful view of the ocean regardless. Super nice bathroom and shower facilities, and staff were friendly. I wish I stayed longer!

We had a great time at Surf Outpost/Malibu RV Park. My kids sometimes think I'm crazy for wanting to camp on our adventures but the views were beautiful, it was quiet, the bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot. Their signs need some updating/repair but we found our spot pretty quick and they were very helpful with our late arrival. Just be careful with the route since PCH is closed in one part because of the fires (it didn't show on Google maps because residents & employees can still get through with a pass). Would stay there again for sure!
