The best view of Mount Shasta (Root Chakra) in the County is included in your stay. We are a fun-loving group of outdoor enthusiasts who are passionate about sharing our love for adventure with our guests. Tommie is a world traveling professional whitewater raft guide. (Ask about a trip.) A professional backcountry freestyle snowmobile rider, snowboarder,slalom water-skier, wake-boarder, inventor, entrepreneur and party animal. Our location boasts a state-of-the-art auto shop, equipped to help anyone traveling with any mechanical issues (Even if you are not a booked guest). We also offer a variety of workshops to teach our guests various skills such as building a small cabin or a 10,000 sq. ft. custom handcrafted log home. We'll teach you how to use a scribing tool to fit logs together, make log furniture, and grow food. We even have raised bed designs with high tunnels for year-round gardening, and we teach cloning methods for healthier plants, composting, and making custom soil designed to your specific needs. If you're interested in Permaculture, Hugelkultur, or Aquaponics, we've got you covered. We are certified. We'll teach you everything you need to know about properly using chainsaws (non-operating), including instruction on using an Alaskan Mill. For those interested in firearms (without ammunition) or crossbows, we'll teach you cleaning, maintenance, and safety. If you have no clue about mechanics, “You should” out there doing all this traveling. We even offer a workshop on small engines to big engines maintenance and repair, as well as the use of diagnostics and the necessary tools. For those who want to take things to the next level, we offer a 1-hour crash course on the maintenance, safety, and operation of a Bobcat E45 excavator. Our location is surrounded by breathtaking outdoor scenery, including a variety of rivers, lakes, and museums. We are proud of the Native history in the area. Stayed one night, traveling back home over labor day weekend. Tommie was a great host. He greated us, guided us to our site, showed us around, answered all of our questions and then gave us our privacy for the evening. Great view of Mt Shasta. Zero light pollution, which makes for a great night time show in the sky. Saw the Milky Way and every star visible. There is a lot of work being put into the site right now and during the day, it's obvious things are being worked on (which when they are done, the place will be amazing). Evening and night, with that sunset and stars, while sitting at your site, you don't notice it because your eyes are on your site and looking upward. Thank you Tommie, we had a a good night.

Place is under construction (which I personally enjoy), probably not for too much longer, but be aware. This is a place of vision, hosts are making something special. This is the essence of Hipcamp - a spot you would never find otherwise, with spectacular views, and laid out and decorated by interesting and capable people. Will definitely return to see their progress - Thanks!

The best camp in Mount Shasta

Tommie is an absolute gem! He was so completely accommodating! He has a tremendous passion for community and for living Off the grid. I feel like I got an education along with my camping trip and walk away feeling like I want to move in that direction myself. I am a single mother and have two girls and so camping can be hard, so his attention to detail and my needs was incredible! The campsite itself is magical and I can’t wait to go back with an entire crew of people and rent out every single spot. He is currently building a moat/pawn where he’s going to place a vintage sailboat/pirate ship for families to stay in and a swimming area for the children. He has two dogs that were so sweet and my girls played with them all week. The campsite is just one mile away from Pluto‘s cave, if you’re coming to Mount Shasta to “make contact.” Just a few minutes drive to most waterfalls and lakes, but my five-year-old was so in love with the campsite and the dogs that she just wanted to get back to camp every day. My girls and I also dance and did meditation and photography up on his platform called the “Orbshire”.” The campsite has a direct view of mount shasta. Tommie cares about you getting everything you hoped for from your camping trip! The site had a hammock and water for washing dishes, and the water he provides is straight from the mountain and is crystal clear, ice cold, and pure to drink. Definitely will be coming back here again, and I rarely return to the same place teice.

2 28/29Fs road tripping to Oregon and needed a place to sleep for the night. For one night, $20 was amazing. We did see in the description that the property was under construction but didn’t realize everything was currently sand/dirt and where the tent was suppose to go was covered in hay. There was no running water anywhere and the porta potty was locked. They locked the gate- the only way in and out as campers- at night which could feel either safe or scary depending on the kind of person you are. As 2 females, no other campers and no one else on the property that we saw, this felt stressful. I feel if we had been able to meet the camp host, we may have felt different. It’s not on a main road, but I heard cars driving past all night. Also should mention, that while you do get a beautiful view of Mt. Shasta, its not necessarily at the base of it. It was an additional 35-40min drive from the town at the bottom of Mt. Shasta. I’m sure the property owner as great ideas for this camp site and will have a lot to offer in the future, but as is, I would not stay again.

I loved my stay at Tommie’s property! He was gracious, responsive, and accommodating. I got there very late one night and it wasn’t any trouble. I felt right at home. Nothing beats the view I got of the moon rising over Mt. Shasta. Tommie has so many wonderful things in the works for his property. Do not sleep on this listing!

Great spot! Nice view of Shasta. Pluto’s Cave lava tubes are super and just a mile or two down the road. Very helpful and kind people! They provided tarps to help us out with a leaky tent during a surprise, late rain/snow/ice experience! Dog friendly.

Tommie was great and super accommodating. We made a real last minute reservation and arrived while it was dark but he was right there to show us where we needed to be! It was a shame we were only there for one night cause he seemed like a super cool dude who we’d like to have chatted with some more. Would definitely go back to this property.

We had an awesome time camping on Tommie’s property. The sites are private without being isolated and perfect for tent camping. The property has a beautiful view of the mountain and is close to nearby hiking and exploration spots. Our dog loved running around and playing with Tommie’s dogs. Tommie is a really cool dude to hang with and swap stories, he’s also very accommodating and chill. He has big plans for the place and we will definitely be back to check it out!

Tommie had no shortage of cool historical facts and fun life anecdotes. The vibe was very chill and as a solo female traveller I felt very safe. The property is still coming together but I got to stay at the ZAP-ity doo da site which had incredible views and a fascinating back story. I even got to see one of the cloud formations Tommie was telling me about. If the views arent convincing enough, the host is what makes this place. Tommie went out of his way to make me feel safe and well taken care of , he also let me accompany him to feed the chickens which was a fun treat. As someone who drove down from Canada , I will be back.

Great hospitality! Amazing Mount Shasta view, very beautiful! Enjoyed Tommie’s story telling a lot! He told lots of mystical and cool legends about the area. Star gazing from the camp site was awesome, including Starlink launch of at least 15 new satellites.

Beautiful location! Nearby sights like Pluto's Cave and a 45 minute drive to the top of Mt. Shasta. My lady and I rented a tentsite from Tommie, and we were in for one of the most incredible views we've ever seen. No light pollution in this area means you sit under the interstellar tidal tail. It was like a seat in the middle of the universe. We witnessed a meteor shower for hours into the night, unlike anything I've experienced. Tommie has some incredible plans for the space and I'll be coming back for years to come.
