Site 2 Sugar Flats
This is a great place to camp, with gorgeous hiking trails close by. The birdsong was amazing. There was a particular bird around 8 pm that made such beautiful sounds I'd never heard before. And plenty of firewood around so didn't have to buy.

We had so much fun staying on Helen's site and letting our dog run around our area while we relaxed. Lots of space to set up and beautiful birds singing, lots of fire wood available for when it's appropriate. I was initially nervous about arriving there and locating the area, but Apple Maps took us right to the dirt road and Helen's directions are very accurate. It was no problem at all for our '05 Chevy pickup. The outhouse was very well maintained and did not stink at all, which is impressive! Helen was very communicative until the moment we lost service and again, once we regained it upon departure. It was quite buggy during the day, so some netting would be handy if that bothers you! Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful and secluded spot. Excellent for a quick weekend get away as a solo female traveler. I felt safe and slept like a rock.

We enjoyed camping in this site. The instructions to find it were very clear. The site itself was clean and very spacious. Loved having access to the outhouse which was also clean and well maintained. We did hear music throughout the whole night some distance away from the site as if it was a concert or some venue, but it was far enough that the sound could be drowned out by our own sounds while camping, or while sleeping. I’d definitely return to this site.

Nice spot with a clean outhouse and space for a small-medium group. Make sure to bring plenty of water as there’s nowhere too close to refill.

Sunnyside Site A at Grouse Ridge
Helen's land and Sunnyside Site A were ideal for our quick overnight. We were just there to enjoy the Perseid meteor shower, and we couldn't have picked a quieter or more lovely spot. Helen was very helpful and responsive and even went out of her way to make sure the trail to Grouse Ridge was freshly marked for us. If you need a quiet place to get away, look no further. Highly recommended!

We had to change plans due to the Park fire and opted to look towards Tahoe. Not knowing the area we wanted to make sure we could book a sight instead of searching for a dispersed spot after a long drive. The campground is in a beautiful area that is a short drive past a swimming hole and a small stocked fishing lake. The grounds are obviously still being developed and cleaned up but make for a cool, quiet night away from other campers. Entry to the campground not ideal for low clearance vehicles.

We really enjoyed camping at Helen's site! Good elevation for temps at this time of year, good directions, good site in general. No cell reception (as described in the site description) which tbh I enjoy. Close to lakes. My kids and I liked it and we'll probably go again.

It was easy to access and felt very safe!! It was perfectly secluded but was also placed a good distance away from other lots so that you aren’t disturbed by neighbors, but they are reachable if an emergency happens.

Beautiful, clean, and quiet. Site neighbors were also nice. Perfect Father's Day weekend getaway. We felt very safe, and instructions for everything were spot on. We will be back, we loved it so much.

This is an amazing place! Helen is a great communicator and the place was easy to find and access, even for my Corolla. I definitely recommend following the yellow ribbon road! It’s a beautiful walk and I got to see a White-headed Woodpecker and Western Tanager for the first time!

I almost don’t want to leave a review because I don’t want anyone to know about this gem! The land is in pristine condition. No trash or waste anywhere. You feel like you are in the middle of untouched forest. It’s absolutely gorgeous. There are four sites total, I believe, and they feel far enough apart that it feels quite private. I camped the sugar daddy site and loved it. It’s a large site with multiple spots to choose from. I opted for a more secluded part of the campsite to the left underneath the welcome sign on the tree. This is a pack in/out campground, so be prepared to take all your waste with you so we can keep this place clean and beautiful! There was an outhouse, however, I did not use it since I have my own bathroom set up. There is occasional road noise, but it’s not too bad. I definitely recommend this site if you like some seclusion in the forest.

Site came in clutch for weekend camping, lots of kindling around the area to start a nice fire. Only thing that I would say needs improvement is that although an outhouse was on the property it wasn’t useable, there was a hord of bugs that weren’t able to be cleared out and the door was broken so use a bathroom back up plan.

Had an amazing time with great views and even little patches of snow to play in, it was the first trip of the year with the misses and the little one and we will definitely be back, very close to beautiful Lake Fuller and Spaulding. Great sites and not to close to others only a few total sites great atmosphere and wonderful bird songs!

Second time staying here and we were the only campers again. Just such a great site. Close to lots of trails, quiet, and has a clean little outhouse. We’ll be back!

Beautiful drive up the property! I would highly recommend for a quick getaway. It’s not too far from civilization but just far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet sounds of nature. Property was very easy to find. If you open the directions from the app into GPS… it puts you exactly where the entrance to the dirt road is. No service once you are there but GPS should be able to track you to the exact spot with out service. Beautiful and private camping spots!

I highly recommend a stay at the property. There are varying types of sites that are spaced enough for privacy and each gives a slightly different type of stay. The access to the property overall is great as it’s just off a paved road. And it’s close to many of the lakes, streams, hiking trails, and forest roads in the greater Grouse Ridge area. While it’s not on a body of water, Fall Creek is a 2 minute drive where you can easily fill up your Jerry cans (of course you should still filter before drinking).
The outhouse is about the nicest I’ve been in - made of wood with basically zero odor.
Helen was always quick to respond and helpful! A truly great host!
I will absolutely return!
