This is the first time ever I'm giving a negative review. First, when doing research and before going here this place was rated at 100% people like this spot. However, I found out this site is under two names one being the Lone Tree Camp and the other which gave legit reviews named Yosemite Gateway at Serenity Hills. The location, is probably on five acres and the pictures presented are VERY misleading. The land has HUGE slope to which was quite a problem just fornsiting in a chair or trying to put anything on a table (it rolled off). The land itself, not maintained, mowed over weeds, with huge construction like dirt pile with loose dirt everywhere, not good for children. In the description and in directions it mentions mini houses, these are not mini houses but rather trailers still on wheels, if I could attach a picture I would. Next, relaxation factor is not gonna happen because of the constant loud sounds of cars, just like you"re in the city, so not quite nor relaxing. Last, the owner is right there, in there home, like your camped in their backyard which gives the feel of being watched. Overall, I felt like I was mislead and ripped off. I left and found another location to Camp for my second night. To the owners, level the ground, make private Camp areas, and at least put those "mini" homes on the ground.

I thought that this would be a good place to stay outside of the park the night before a weeklong solo backpacking trip. The site is not clearly marked other than with a “ no trespassing” sign. They listed a “campsite” amongst a bunch of tiny homes right next to the highway going into the park. When I parked my car, I looked around for a decent place to just pitch my tent, but there was none with any privacy whatsoever. And speaking of no privacy: the Groundskeeper approached me suspiciously after just a few minutes. I had to explain to him that I had a reservation. He explained that he had been watching me on cameras that were “all over the property”. This gave me the creeps and I left right away. I never stayed here and decided to go into the park and stay at the backpackers camp. MUCH better decision. Lesson learned.

The geodome is awesome and the location is super convenient to get into the park! Stephanie was very kind and lent me a heater since it was quite cold when I stayed there. It’s easy to find, only 30 mins from the park entrance, and the stars are beautiful at night. You won’t be bothered here!

3. Shady Tree Camp-ONLY TENTS
The site is very close to Yosemite National Park and made getting into the park first thing in the morning a breeze. We were able to be some of the first people on the trail despite it being Labor Day weekend. Site was nice and even had a tire swing.

It has a great open view of the sky. Half an hour away from Yosemite park and about 10 from the rainbow pool. It's pretty close to the road, so there is noise which my camp mates didn't appreciate. But overall it's a great location.

Lone Tree Camp is exactly as shown on the hipcamp website. Great location for going to Yosemite.

The Host did a really good job using photography in order to disguise how terrible this spot is. When we arrived someone was in our spot and all the other spots were taken as well. We ended up parking next to the garage since our spot was taken. There were piles of nails and glass on the property, watch for your tires and feet!

Loved the place. Host were very accommodating with our group. Would definitely consider this camp again. Only con was that sites were somewhat difficult to locate wasn't quite sure which one is which although there's only 3 available sites. Besides that, everything was very nice.

4. Fallen Tree Camp
My sister and I recently stayed on Stephanie’s land in our camper van after visiting Yosemite NP. The drive from Yosemite Valley to Fallen tree camp was stunning, so glad we had to travel this way otherwise we would have missed some breath taking scenery. Staying there we felt very safe and it was nice and exclusive with us being the only visitors that night.

4. Fallen Tree Camp
The site was clean and easily accessible overall, with nice views of the skies. But the issue I had was two fold: one, there were 2 other families camping in the same area and a particular spot within this larger area was not designated to anyone. So mostly it was first come first served — i arrived late and so wasn’t able to get a flat or reasonably sized spot. Two, the ground was not at all even, the dry grass was only cut to 3 inches or so, and plenty of grass burrs.

I loved camping out on Stephanie's land! There were other sites nearby but it was still quiet. A couple things to note: there is hardly any cell service so download any maps you may need and there is a little noise from the road during the day but it quiets down at night.

The place was awful. Right on the Main road. No demarcated camp sites, no signage, just someone’s backyard with a porta potty and a table. Half a construction site for a new house on the small lot just construction materials, halfway done. One group had claimed the one flat area and there was no where else for me to camp. I literally looked at it and found a hotel. Stay away.

Overall an okay campsite. It is right off the road and traffic could be heard from our tent, which was not ideal. The photos and description don't show that there's a house next to the campgrounds either, so it didn't feel as private as it could have. Directions on where the potable water was could have been clearer. Otherwise did the job.
