Great campsite at Hillside! Our first time using Hipcamp and we were very happy. Would definitely recommend Hillside to others. Easy drive to Glenwood Glenwood Springs. Thanks for opening up your property . We were busy with a bike race and didn’t have time to hike on the property but we did enjoy the wild turkeys coming by each morning.

Nice overlook spot, was flat for the camper van, was close to the road but wasn't loud at all, easy to find but was up a little steep section of gravel for 30 ft. Pro master made it up!

Nice spot close, but don’t hear, I-70. I pitched a tent on a shaded enclosed spot on the right side as you enter, the wood chips helped.
Joe was very accessible with questions.

Not what i was expecting. Its more of a pull out on the side of the road. But the traffic wasn't bad. River access is questionable. not sure if you cross private land to access and no established trail that we could find.

Lovely spot! I camped in my car last minute and Joe was quick to respond to my questions. Quiet, many options to camp, beautiful views, and not hot in the am sunrise due to the location of the hillside. Perfect place.

Joes campsite had a nice view and easy access from the road. Joe replied fast on questions. The campsite had a nice wood bed and it was clean. You could hear the traffic a little bit but nothing that disturbed us.

Joes spot was everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. Great spot for a tent with a view. Joe checkin with us before arriving very late at night and stayed not to hesitate to reach out if we needed anything no matter the hour. That spoke to me and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if need.

Joe is still constructing his campground, so some of the info is a bit vague. I suggest calling or texting with him before you get to the campground as service can be spotty (AT&T). He is fast at responding and gives you all the info you need. After getting there he explained there were some spots you could hike to and I was sold! The views are epic and worth the quick hike!!
This spot is not for those wanting a glamping experience. No bathrooms! But I will say it made for the best views while going 😬😳😅!

I got a bit confused by the directions but ended up getting a beautiful spot up on the hill, overlooking the river and mountains. The host was very helpful!

Not a great camp ground. Photos show close-ups of the river and nearby lake hikes, but this is for a property next to a ditch by the interstate. Said ditch is full of trash and graffiti if you look in it. Neighbor campers left their generator on half the night and kept us from sleeping, and the host didn’t do anything.
Also, half the sites are just in a dirt driveway. There is one site on a hill, but it is surrounded by barbed wire on a very treacherously steep, not remotely flat dirt path. And I know it is listed as nomadic camping, but the lack of any property improvement wasn’t great - we could have found something much nicer and more scenic in the woods somewhere.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful site, the views are breathtaking and river nearby. Host is very nice, greeted us, gave us tips around the area places to explore, super friendly.
Absolutely loved the place and definitely recommend! Breathtaking view of the river and mountains and the night sky - so many stars, it just gets better and better every passing minutes. Beautiful site to see the sunset and sunrise. Private and peaceful.

This campsite was beautiful! Joe was so helpful and responsive - initially we got a little lost but Joe answered right away and was so helpful getting us set up. Our campsite had an awesome view of the Colorado River, and was super close to both Glenwood Springs & Rifle Falls State Park! Would absolutely stay here again and recommend 100%

This spot is incredible!! We had a little bit of trouble finding the spot at first (albeit we didn’t have service so didn’t get the hosts text right away. After he texted us it was no problem). But once we found it holy crap! It is beautiful. It is perched right off of the hosts driveway overlooking the Colorado River. With mountains behind you and in front you, it makes for amazing sunrises/sunsets. We only stayed here for one night but genuinely did not want to leave in the morning! Joe stopped by in his truck and asked us how we were doing and if we needed anything. Very friendly with a beautiful piece of property. Would definitely stay here again

Easy spot right off the highway! Tucked into the trees so it still feels pretty secluded. Nice wood chip ground. Beautiful spot for sunset. Would go again if staying near rifle falls!

I had a great stay here! The location is a perfect stop-off before the west-to-east drive through the rockies, or vice versa after the mountain drive. I drove from LA to this camp spot & it was a perfect break so that I didn't need to do the mountain drive to Denver at night.
The other reviews had me a bit confused, but I think all this listing needs is a little more info. There are multiple camp spots, it seems like there are two main areas; one lower off the road, and one higher off a private driveway. Both have multiple parking spots and wood chip areas for comfortable camping. The initial instructions tell you to look for the gates directly off the road, which is the lower spot, but I received further instructions from Joe that directed me to the upper spot. The views from the upper spot are just as shown in the listing, but I could views being different if you are parked in the lower spots. Spots are close together, might feel crowded if full. Would be great to get clearer instructions and to have photos of the campsites. A photo guide of arrival instructions might be helpful, because arriving after dark could be tricky. Would also be nice to get a more detailed description of where the public restrooms are relative to the property.
Overall, a GREAT stay, great views and convenient location for travelers. Price was fine considering the upkeep and communication from host. Just could use some more detailed instructions for visitors upfront to improve the experience :)

Exactly as advertised. This location is perfect for a quick boondock. One thing to note is that our cell service is with AT&T and we had no reception unless you hiked up the hill. The hill overlook is indeed beautiful and Joe is working on a road that makes it more accessible. We would certainly stay again! Also, did the white water rafting and hot springs in Glenwood Springs….. both were Awesome!

This site is very similar to Harvest Host sites at which I have stayed. Really just a semi-circle off a country road with a mostly rock base, capable of hosting ~3 travel trailers/RV’s. About a 12-15 minute drive off the interstate and not particularly easy to find using GPS. Given that it is similar to a Harvest Host site and well off I-70, the price should reflect that fact (e.g., charges of $20-25), not $40.

Great spot for a quiet night of sleep in the area. Easy quick drive into town for services.
Joe was a great host and even let us stay when I had booked the wrong night. Greatly appreciated as it was my mistake. This is a great spot to access the Glenwood Springs area from.
