Perfect campsite to spend the day by the river. Campsite has a beautiful trail you can walk or bring a tube with you and float back down to your campsite.
Owners are extremely nice and what everyone to enjoy their time at their beautiful property.

Awesome campsite. We had a tent and a hammock on campsite 2. It was a lovely experience. Only took a little over an hour to travel to the campsite from Atlanta and the firewood alone would keep us coming back. Hosts were awesome and checked-in often.

I love staying here!! I’ve stayed three times now and it has been so nice! Good views, clean and organized facility, family friendly but also can be romantic! Our kid loved the Cherokee fish trap and the mini playground. Can’t wait to come back!

Such a great place! The campsites are very clean and spacious. George is so nice and helpful- even helped us fix our air mattress. Everything is right on the river- so fun for kids!

What a great place! Ginni, George and the family were fantastic. Very clean grounds, nice people, beautiful river, gold mining, rope swing, tubing, campfires with unlimited wood, fishing and more. The kids had a blast! Highly recommend!

What a great spot! The owners and family are phenomenal and on site a bunch to make sure your stay is going well. The property has a river running right through it so most sites are right on the water. They have tubing on site that doesn’t require a shuttle. You can bring your own or they have plenty there to rent for $5. The sites might be a little tight for real large tents, but site 11 was perfect for us and our trailer for our motorcycles. Lots of great day trip rides and very close to the Smoky Mountain 500. The closest store for supplies is less than 5 minutes away with Publix being about 10 minutes away. We will be back!

This was my third time camping at Castleberry Bridge and, other than the rain (which only came after dark), it was a perfect weekend.

Castleberry Bridge is one incredibly beautiful Camp- We had such a wonderful time. The campground is well-planned and well-maintained. George, Ginny, and Nick were excellent hosts-very helpful and friendly-making sure everyone had what they needed. It was amazing being right on the Etowah. The day area is perfect for picnicking, fishing and tubing. There was a mix of families and couples and all were having a great time. We are looking forward to our next trip.

We usually go for remote sites that are not shared, but this place was great! Even at holiday full capacity, the sites are nicely spread out and didn’t feel crowded.
The frequent presence of the owners is a reminder that you are being welcomed into a family operation, and gives the sense they wouldn’t tolerate any nonsense (every person we encountered was super friendly). You can easily ask questions…which is helpful because cell signal is nonexistent. I like the privacy and safety gate, and how dog friendly the place is.
The river is beautiful for floating and splashing about, gentle in some spots, fun rapids in other spots. We didn’t have any bites fishing, but it was fun trying. There is a really cool Cherokee Indian fish trap. There are trash cans (never overflowing, alway kept up) well distributed and first aid kits everywhere. Great firewood is supplied (!) and sites have stumps for seating. $5 for tubing is a bargain! Fun little games are distributed throughout. It’s only 10 minutes or so away from necessities. The stargazing is great! The porta potty was clean and appreciated.
Note: You will likely hear road noise from cars and trucks on the road above the site, and periodically they drive a loud tractor type vehicle (sounded like an industrial mower) through the sites. Once it was after dark, which I found kind of surprising.
All in all a wonderful family friendly camping area. I’m very glad we found it for the holiday weekend and we will definitely go back!

Perfect location to hop in the river. George and Gini are the best hosts you can ask for. They communicated early and often before we arrived, had a fire pit with wood in it, and a great community area. Literally all we did was show up and have fun all the other details were taken care of.

It was a great experience. Gini and George were wonderful from the 1st meet to the last day we were there. They were easy to get along with and always had a little comedy. They helped us find kayaks to rent, which was HUGE.

Beautiful, exceptionally maintained campsites right on the Etowah River. Plenty of firewood and incredible hospitality from George & Ginny. You can swim and tube down the river, or just sit back by your campfire and bask in nature. I did both. Castleberry Bridge is simply wonderful! 💯

We vacationed with our 3 poodles and had a wonderful few days. The campsites are well stocked with wood and George is a great host, we very much appreciated the torch to get the fire lit!
You can tell the work and effort he has put into this campsite. The river runs alongside all the campsites and there are trash cans, first aid kits, and doggy clean up bags posted up all throughout the area. There were trails to hike and a really fun rope swing over one part of the river. Our trip was peaceful and relaxing. There is a town not ten minutes away and a dollar general just a few miles up the road if you forget something and need to make a quick trip. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere and just surrounded by nature. We cannot wait to come back!

We only stayed 2 nights at Campsite 2, but by the end of our trip George and Virginia felt like lifelong friends. Everything was perfect, tubing down the river was amazing(thank you George for the tubes), having s’mores by the fire, grilling hot dogs, and enjoying nature. You can tube on the river or kayak on the river right from your tent and George can help you with everything you need. The campsite alone is more than anything you could need, but George and Virginia’s hospitality is what makes this place unique and a must comeback again and visit type of place. Highly recommend!!

I had the privilege of camping here and I loved every minute of it! The hosts are attentive and kind, they clearly love what they do! The campsites are right on the water and each site has places to sit and a campfire which I loved. There is also a community area with games and tubing. This site was so much fun, cute, and had a lot to do which campsites don’t always have. Also, the nearest Walmart is a 10 minute drive, so if you forget anything you don’t have to drive 30-45 minutes! I will be returning with my family soon!

First off the land is absolutely amazing. George has made a wonderful place at Castleberry bridge campground. He's also an exceptional host and steward of the grounds. It's very family friendly and community oriented and has a vibrant history to the area. I highly recommend this for your next getaway or camping trip as you won't be disappointed. There is plenty to do and see here with more to come in the future. Will definitely be coming back sooner rather than later! Thanks again George!!!

Camping at Castleberry bridge was lovely! My friends and I had a great time and George went above and beyond - he even built fires for us! We stayed right along the water and went for a dip one day even though it was cold! We went hiking at amacalola falls and went into dahlonega for lunch one day. The site is close to other campers but it still felt quiet and private.

We had an incredible experience at Castleberry Bridge in Dahlonega, GA and can’t recommend it highly enough. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and super well-maintained. We visited in March with a large group, and the hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
The campsites were spotless, and there’s a great community area with easy river access that our kids absolutely loved. They had so much fun exploring the Indian fish trap, playing games, and enjoying everything the space had to offer. It was the perfect mix of outdoor adventure and laid-back fun.
The porta potty on site was impressively clean and well-stocked throughout our stay (which is always a huge plus when camping!). Another standout feature: firewood was provided and the fire pits were prepped and ready to go when we arrived—no need to bring your own kindling or fire starters. It made settling in so easy and stress-free.
We’re especially grateful to the camp host George and his sweet dog Chase—getting to know them was such a wonderful addition to our stay. You can tell a lot of care and heart goes into this place, and it really shows.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, family-friendly, and host-supported place to camp, book this spot! We’re already planning our next trip and telling all our friends to check it out.
