I think it would be better for the walk-in campers. Those sites are beautiful. I was camping in a truck camper and the designated spot was a bit hard to get into, with low branches. If you like a working farm and all its associated smells and sounds (I do) it's great. Chickens running around everywhere. Pigs in a pen doing what pigs do. And the hosts were wonderful.

Lovely farm! Beautiful space! The birdsong in the morning was a great way to wake up. Added bonus of the tour on our arrival and getting to meet all the animals! We'd definitely stay here again.

We loved our visit to Tír na nÓg!!! Sue and Holly were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The Hobbit House was cozy and private. The privy was just a short walk away. We lit an awesome campfire and spent the evening enjoying the food we brought and good company with our hosts.

We arrived late and we're too late for Holly to guide/walk us to the campsite. It was a first trip with my mom in 15 years. I wanted to treat my mom, take her out of the comfort zone, make her try something different. Holly was very sweet to leave us a detailed instructions on getting to the hobit house, give us a little tour of her farm, and introduce us to her animals. Pigs, chickens, cows, and her lovely 2 dogs. My mom loved the experience - the tour, the cabin (and its woody scent!), the sweet host, little piglets running about, ... Before this review turns into a multi page essay, I'm just going to end this review with a thanks to Holly. Thanks for the lovely stay - hoping to stay again in the near future!!

It was a surprisingly nice place, a farm camping with happy pigs and chickens, a very nice free camping spot in the middle of the forest with picnic table and campfire. And a hot shower after days was also wonderful.

Literally so amazing, I felt so at home the second I was in the property. They did an amazing job mainting their property and using what seemed like mainly sustainable living practices which was even more of a positive experience to be a part of. 100000/10 would most definitely come here again.

Our stay at the Hobbit house was absolutely amazing! We had everything we needed- everything was well thought out and comfortable. The farm itself is beautiful and super fun to walk around and watch the animals. Such a magical spot. Definitely recommend a stay at Tir na nOg Farm!

Amazing!

It was perfect! My friends and I needed a place to have a small get together and celebrate a friend's upcoming marriage, and when I saw the Hobbit House I fell in love. I wrote to Holly ahead of time with a few questions, and she was incredibly gracious and helpful, offering to put a few chairs along the path to make sure my friend with chronic pain would have places to rest on the way if needed, etc. She met us when we got there and showed us the lay of the land, making sure we knew where everything was and even giving us a bunch of beautiful flowers to decorate the area for our get-together. The House is every bit as cute as we hoped, snug and homey and just far enough into the woods to feel like we were off in our own little world; it's pretty magical. Thank you Holly, we loved being there!

My daughter and I enjoyed everything about our stay on Holly's property. Campsite 4 was perfect, we thoroughly enjoyed watching the pigs in action, and also appreciated everyone we talked with during our stay. We will be back!

Loved the Hobbit House

This is a cozy farm with lovely wooded sites. We chose the Hobbit House as it had been years since I camped, and I wasn't sure I still had the chops. An ideal compromise between total rugged and shelter from the elements. Holly is welcoming and informative, a perfect host.

Camping at Tir na nOg farm

I had a wonderful time camping at Tir na nOg farm! Holly was very warm and welcoming and showed me around the farm. I enjoyed getting to meet all of their animals, including their new chicks! The directions to the campsite were clear and easy to get to. I also liked being able to explore the forest path around the farm and check out their greenhouse. The farm is also located a 5-10 minute drive from Bradbury Mountain State Park, which was fun for a short and relaxed hike. I would love to stay again in the future!

The site one is very close to the road and not very private.There is only one community fire pit. They have a main out house that fills quite quickly but doesn’t get dumped. They gloat about using the human waste for compost maybe that’s why they let the waste fill to the top.

The farm was lovely with lots of well cared for animals. The site itself was just the right size with trees for our hammocks. Check-in and tour was simple and easy. Would love to come back!

We had a great time at Holly's land. The campsite was spacious, the farm animals were cute, and the people were very nice. They showed us great hospitality. And the location is a good if you want to take a short trip to Portland or Freeport.

Such a beautiful farm! The baby pigs were definitely a highlight of the trip, so cute. We had a group of six and were able to fit three backpacking tents at our site. Holly and company were very accommodating and friendly hosts. Would definitely visit again!

Beautiful farm with beautiful souls

Holly and Sue had such a beautiful farm, with such extensive knowledge and passion for organic farming! Since we arrived at the farm, the entire place felt warm and very cared for. Only thing is the outhouse could be more considered, but if that isn't an issue then the farm is absolutely a great choice!

Loved the hobbit hole. So cute. Not far to walk but far enough it was nice and secluded. There was a picnic table for us maybe 30 feet away under the trees where I would have loved to spend time but it rained😩 The forest was just beautiful We also loved the chickens and the pigs. The piglets were just too cute Wished we could have spent more time there

Camping here was great. The host Holly was very accommodating. It was a lot of fun getting to watch and interact with all the animals. The views were awesome, and the farm isn't far from tourist towns like Freeport and Portland if you plan on exploring Maine.

Campsite 3 - Backwoods Bothy

Highly recommend! Me and my friends had a great time, especially if you’re looking for a ‘comfortable’ off the grid experience. We fit a ten person and single person tent within the campsite and still had plenty of space. The area is local to Portland, trails, and a bunch of public bodies of water. The farm is adorable and the animals are so much fun to watch. If I’m in the area again and looking for camping will definitely be staying here!
