PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING... 30 acres of mostly reclaimed farmland. We are located where Glade Creek flows into the Monocacy River. There is evidence of civil war activity here and the old river ford is on our property. Creek and river access make this a beautiful, peaceful place that is full of life. The energy here is overwhelmingly positive. Our house was built in the 1850s and the neighboring farm was built shortly after—lots of history on this property. You will be able to camp right next to Glade Creek which is always cool, clean, and refreshing. Our goal with opening the land up for camping is to eventually phase out commercial farming on the property and transform it into woodlands using native plants and trees. We've already started by planting hundreds of native tree species along the creek and river banks. Each camper gets us closer to that goal! Thanks for your support! See our map in the gallery for a complete overview of our property including site locations. Please note that you will need to drive back through the crossing to access the portable toilet. Property occasionally floods. Zero flash floods, just slow river overflow. Check this site for flooding info. https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?gage=fdkm2 Flood stage is 15 feet.

Site North - Mr. Dennis
97% (47)
Tent site · Sleeps 8
Site six is an open site with lots of breathing room. This one gets lots of morning sun but has great shade in the afternoon. It has its own path down to the river. Easy access and tons of places for tents and parking. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING... 4 of the 5 sites are right next to the water. All are green and very lush. You will need a vehicle that can drive through our creek ford (decent ground clearance will suffice). Most vehicles can handle this (a Honda HRV did it with no problems). If not, you can park and walk in. Fire is allowed in the fire rings. Wood is around but we recommend bringing your own starter. Pack out all trash. Great for fishing or just relaxing outside under the stars. All spots are mowed and easy to set a tent on. Your dogs will love it! Be careful of poison ivy. No other dangers. Tons of deer and the occasional fox or wild turkey. 4 miles to historic downtown Frederick and a mile to the Walkersville Train which the kids love! Less than a mile from the Fountain Rock Nature Center. Relic hunters welcome! UPDATE - We now have a portable toilet (serviced weekly). It is behind the solar panels across the creek. You can cross the pipe at your own risk or drive over and park next to the fire pit by the creek. Text me if you have any questions. 301.788.2092. Site One - Stanley Tucci

Site one is closest to the entrance and far from other campers. It's on a small hill with a fire pit under a large pear tree. This site can accommodate 2 or 3 tents easily and is within close walking distance to the creek and a slightly longer walk to the river. Also has plenty of parking. Site Two - Budrow Wilson
Had a great time at Site 2. Heads up---We did get a stuck in the mud after crossing the creek and then had trouble getting back out again so had to park and walk our supplies to the site. Made for an interesting start to the camp though, we have stayed here before and had no trouble at all but it had rained quite a bit and things were just too muddy for our 2 wheel drive SUV to manage, 4 wheel drive would have no problems. Once off the main muddy path to the sites the rest was fine, grassy and flat and at the end of our stay things had dried up enough that we were able to drive to pick up the load up at least. Site 2 is nicely tucked away and although there was one other camper staying at another site for the first night we did not hear or see anyone the whole time we were there. We had our two dogs who loved the creek and being able to walk the paths around the sites. Lots of wildlife to look at and hear and beautiful wildflowers. Plenty of fire wood to be had. All in all a nice trip and we would come back and stay again.

10 out of 10 , would highly recomme
This is an incredible experience. The farm is beautiful and the sites are far enough, that you are completely private. We brought a little projector to watch movies under the stars. The river access is remarkable. Thank you for our trip and we will be returning.

We had such a great time at Ellie’s Favorite! The camp site was a great size for 4 of us and a dog. There were a few other people at the other sites but we were far enough away that we couldn’t see or hear them the entire trip unless we walked by! We will definitely be back!

We love tent camping here! This was our first time at this site but we have stayed at another site as well. Cannot recommend enough to everyone. The site is far enough away from the others that it's like being on your own in the woods. The river is a few steps away and has amazing fishing that the kids loved. My dogs love it here as well. Communication is amazing. We will def be back many times! Such an amazing place to camp!
