We had a great time on Tim's farm! We stayed in our camper near the playground, which was perfect for our two children. They have a great little farm store with tasty ice cream and other fun finds. Of course the highlight were the alpacas and the sheep. We went to interstate park and hiked to Taylor's falls which was beautiful and only about 10 minutes away. We will be back!
Honestly, one of the top camping experiences we’ve ever had. It was just my 8 year old and I and they made us feel right at home. Perfect place to unwind and who wouldn’t love unlimited sheep snuggles and alpaca eye contact?!
They’ve really done a great job though and we are already planning our next trip out. 10/10.
Absolutely gorgeous campsite! Tim was a wonderful host. We had everything we needed and more here! The animals were friendly and very fun to pet. We will be back!
Such a great place! I mean who wouldn't love hanging out with Alpacas? The campsite is perfect. I was by myself but could totally see it's the perfect spot for families.
The farm is so fun! The owners were super nice. This place is not far outside the cities but feels like it is. The animals were very enjoyable to be around. The views are lovely. They have cute things scattered about. A fun barn to shop for gifts. We had a great time tent camping! We would love to go back and stay longer! Thank you Tim and crew!
We had such a wonderful time! Our kids are still talking about the animals. The entire property is beautiful and very close to all the activities near Taylors Falls.
Finding this place was super simple. The ease of check in was amazing and we were shown exactly how to access everything. So fun and peaceful.
Things to note:
•Distance from car to spot is a little ways so a wagon is helpful for hauling stuff to site.
•The ground ( and all our tents and belongings) were wet each morning not from over night rain but just everything was super wet ( maybe usual for Minnesota we don’t know as we aren’t from here) so packing for that expectation may be needed.
•The alpacas (and all the animals) are just so adorable and sweet.
Great place. Would recommend.
Had a great time at Tim's and felt very welcome to explore his property. We all loved feeding the alpacas and interacting with them and the sheep. The barn store and flower picking area were fun to peruse as well.
Enjoyed camping on the farm and the unique experience. My kids enjoyed waking up to the sound of animals. The market is adorable and we loved the ice cream!
Tim was a gracious host and our campsite felt very private and safe. The alpacas were gorgeous and so fun to feed. The stars and moon were incredible especially the first night when the skies were clear, and the site was conveniently located to explore the area. 10/10 would definitely camp here again
Tim was incredibly kind when I accidentally selected the wrong date for my trip and he allowed me to pay for the extra day I'd be there with cash in person. The farm was absolutely beautiful, the alpacas and chickens and sheep were a delight to see, and the barn shop had so many neat treasures available for purchase. Highly reccomend to anyone still questioning whether or not this is the place!!!
What a great place! Tim was an awesome host! My son loved the play-ground, picking flowers for his Mom, all the sheep and chickens! We enjoyed fresh ice-cream and day one, Tim let the alpacas Rome free! Such a cool experience!!!
We will de back for sure!!!
Wonderful location to put our tent up and enjoy the stars and sounds of the night. We heard coyotes, sand cranes, owls and cows in the distance. The alpacas and baby doll sheep were so sweet to have around us.
Time was very helpful on arrival showing us to our campsite and explaining all the fun around the farm. You can feed the animals as many times as you’d like and explore the flowers and area as you please. Girls trip was fun for the night getting familiar with the alpacas, checking out the barn and having free rein to enjoy their farm however we wanted. It was relaxing and since we were the only campers for the night it felt very private as well. Would definitely go again but will need some bug spray!
Cutest farm for camping for a family! They have 20 acres of land to choose where you’d like to camp. Plenty of things to do! There’s a little market shop at the barn, my kids loved the alpacas and chickens, very friendly animals. There’s also a little playground for the kids to have fun! Thank you for making our first camping trip memorable, will be back for sure.
Camping at the alpaca farm was a nice little getaway. The hosts were extremely welcoming and having access to visit the animals whenever we wanted was a huge plus!
We stayed on Tim's land for one night and it was amazing! We live in the cities on wanted a getaway that was less than 1 hour away and this was the perfect place. The alpaca and sheep were so fun to watch, pet, and hangout with. Along with that they have a u-pick flower field and market! If you are looking for a quite place to stay that is different from your typical camping experience I highly recommend staying here!
the farm was lovely, and Tim was very sweet and accommodating. the animals are truly amazing.
it rained most of the time i was there, but that was not Tim's fault and it was still super fun!
Tim's place is wonderful, and all the previous positive reviews are quite right on -- large peaceful open space, only one other small group was on the land, and the friendly alpacas and sheep were a huge hit with my daughter. We were also able to do some great shopping in the barn of homemade items, and take home some fresh eggs as well. It's not wilderness camping, but is just as described and does get very quiet and peaceful after the sun goes down ~9pm-ish, and you just hear the frogs and crickets...
Thx Tim, we look forward to returning! :-)
We really enjoyed our two night stay on Tim's property. Tim was very accommodating in helping us find a spot to land even though some of his typical sites had been affected by the recent heavy rains. During our stay we felt at home. We had three kids along that loved visiting the animals regularly. They have a fantastic little market on-site. We took a short field trip to one of the many state parks nearby during the day. It was a great little get away out of the city.
What a great spot! We really enjoyed feeding the animals, the store upstairs in the barn, and talking to Tim about the land. We camped next to the corn crib in the field and it was comfortable. The port o potty was the cleanest one I’ve seen which was much appreciated. Great spot, would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
What a delightful camping spot. Quite secluded and has all of the charm and personality you won’t get at just any old spot. Tim and family are an awesome hosts and really cares about their land, animals and guests. This site really shines with the tiny details of the experience including the barn shop and u-pick trailer. Looking forward to visiting again sometime!
