The tipi and the land around it was amazing. We had everything we needed. Carie’s husband was very helpful when we arrived; I’m also so glad Carie was thoughtful enough to have us change tipi’s d/t the rain on our first night. Despite a little dampness, we stayed nice and warm.

Bison Tipi Retreat
We had an amazing time here! The bison tipi was perfect for us and our dogs. The bison tipi had the perfect set up for hammocks to sit back and relax. I would highly recommend this location. It also allows for a good amount of privacy from the other campers. Thank you for the stay!

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful time in Carie’s teepee! The land is beautiful, the animals are fantastic and Carie goes far above and beyond for those who chose to stay at her property. Would recommend 100%, what a fantastic experience.

We loved our visit so much!!!! I can’t even find the accurate words to describe our time at Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch Creekside Retreat! The bison were majestic, Carie was wonderful, and it felt great being in sync with nature.

A beautiful setting and a wonderful setup! Carie is a great and responsive host, and she and her husband have created a lovely retreat. The tipis are spacious and so well maintained. There’s a fire pit and picnic table, and she included some basics for cooking. And the sights and sounds of the ranch are delightful! Low grunts from the bison, silly calls from the peacocks, and all sorts of birds and other wildlife. Highly recommend staying here!

Such an amazing place and the teepees are far apart for privacy. An absolutely wonderful host, and I was excited to get send bison meat from her. Would highly recommend anyone there. Our host loves what she does and is very helpful and kind.

Bison Tipi Retreat
We had never camped with our baby (or at all!) and Carie’s tipis were the best introduction to camping. She was super responsive, friendly, and answered all of our (many) questions about the bison and the farm. Campsites were so peaceful and well kept. Carie had thought of everything with supplies, which made the night a breeze. Loved it! We’ll be back, with friends!

Got away from the city for the night and ended up here in Thornville, OH, 10 minutes away from Buckeye Lake. Stayed at this working bison ranch in their White Tail Tipi and it was a relaxing stay. The farm was scenic and the bison burgers were delicious. Carrie was a great host and everything was at the camp that you would need to be comfortable. Recommend this for anyone looking to get away from their normally busy lives & needs relaxation/peace.
Can’t wait to stay again!

Ever since I visited Cherokee Bison ranch, and learned that they had tee pees, I was all in! This is something that I have always wanted to try. Carie & Jarrod were so accommodating. They went above and beyond.
The Bison, grounds & tee pees were so majestic. I definitely can't wait to do this again in the spring!! I highly recommend wholeheartedly!

Carie was wonderful and stayed up late to meet us as we road-tripped across the US. The tipi has been our best camping experience thus far, and she had everything that we could have wanted! (dishwashing station, history of tipis, firewood available for purchase, etc)

We were super excited about our tipi stay on Carie’s property, but the weather took a turn for the worst the weekend we had booked. It had already been raining a few days, quite heavy, from the Hurricane Helene after math and we intended to make the most of it and hope the rain stayed to a drizzle. Carrie greeted us on arrival and was super friendly and informative and we went to our campsite and set up for the night. Carrie had mentioned having a tarp on the bed because of all the rain, but it was quite saturated when we showed up. We hoped that was from the heavy rainfall the day before and removed the tarp and put our bedding on and went on a hike around the property and off to dinner. The rain kept up during this time and when we returned from dinner our bed was wet and water was still dripping in to the point that we just packed up and went on home. The tipi had a rain catcher, I’m not sure if it just couldn’t keep up with the amount, or something had obstructed it from operating properly. I mentioned to Carrie the next day that we ended up leaving early and she offered and gave us a complete refund. She said she cares about happy guests and that wasn’t the experience anyone wanted. That just speaks to the kind of host she is! We can’t wait to try again and hopefully with more favorable weather conditions! She has a lovely property and provides everything you could need for a great stay; just need to figure out the water leaking in to the Bison tipi!

Definitely recommend staying on Carie's land for a quiet, relaxing weekend. It rained most of our trip so we were very thankful to have the tipi for shelter. We loved having a view of the bison right from our campsite. Even grabbed some frozen bison meat from the store on the way out, delicious.
Carie is what you hope you get from a host when renting somewhere to stay. She was very welcoming and was a message away if we needed her. Can't say enough nice things.
Overall a very relaxing, secluded, unique stay that we would book again if we are staying in the area.

We visited Cherokee Valley Bison Ranch for a one night getaway, and it was an unforgettable experience! Carie, the host was friendly and knowledgeable.. The Bison are well cared for and seeing them roam freely on the private land was truly awe-inspiring. The peaceful, natural surroundings make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Staying in the teepee added a whole new level of adventure to the trip. The kids haven’t stopped talking about it! We all enjoyed exploring the creek and land. Highly recommend this hidden gem!"

White Tail Tipi
Took the grandkids to Carie’s Tipi and we had an absolute blast! The bison were so close but safe behind an electric fence, the kids cooled off in the creek, and plenty of space to explore. My favorite is how bright the stars are there. Beautiful place with a wonderful host, highly recommend!!

What an awesome spot! We had the best time.
The Bison tipi site had everything you could possibly need and then some. It was such a cool experience sleeping in a tipi and hearing the Bison grunting in the distance. Beautiful evening breezes and the kids had fun wading in the creek and catching minnows. In the morning we made a little fire inside the tipi with wood pellets and cuddled up in our sleeping bags. The kids really enjoyed the cots we rented too. Then on our way out we picked up some bison meat and grilled bison burgers for dinner when we got home. Delicious! Absolutely worth every penny! We’ll be back for sure!

Bison Tipi Retreat
We loved camping in the Tipi on Carrie's bison farm. It was so peaceful and beautiful with the grazing bison in sight and a refreshing creek to cool off in. The campsite was immaculate! Carie is a terrific host and it it so wonderful to see the pride she takes in her heritage and so sweet of her to share her stories and land with her guests.

We absolutely loved camping here! The Teepee was awesome and everything was so beautifully set up. The Bison are awesome and the flowers are gorgeous - we even saw hummingbirds. We had a blast splashing in the creek. I hope to return with our whole family soon!

We spent a 2 amazing nights in the Tipi . The Ranch very organized. Clean and calm. Jarrod and Carie ( owners ) were very friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed the place and us as well. We really traveled in the pass. To live the Native Americans life style.
I recommend to try the bison meat, it’s just delicious. I asked Carie before for the meat and she got it ready for me when i checked in. We are definitely going back. Can’t get tired of that place.

This was our 3rd time here. We love coming here because it’s secluded and a pretty large space for our dogs to run around without running into someone else’s site. With only 2 sites, there’s little noise so can you focus on relaxing. We love watching the Bison in the field at sunset. Thanks again Cari!! It’s always a great time! :)

We loved camping in the Bison TiPi. We loved watching the bison graze and play, just steps away from the TiPi where we spent a very comfortable night. It rained a little bit we stayed dry! A wonderful spot for a peaceful weekend away.

We had a nice time. The bison were fun to watch. Nice sunset. Wine and a campfire. But I don't think it is for everyone. Some of my friends would feel like it was roughing it too much. We like those kind of adventures.
