EZ Getaway

The campsite was a little tricky to find using Google Maps, but thankfully Emily was quick to help and gave me clear directions that made it easy to get there. Once I arrived, I was really impressed with how clean and well-maintained everything was. A really nice touch was the welcome basket, which even included a toy for my pup—such a thoughtful detail that made us feel right at home. Emily was a great host, and I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful and pet-friendly getaway!

What a great place for a little respite! Emily and her husband are more than accommodating. The campsite is clean and there was a fire waiting for me when I arrived! Also, there were treats on the table, and they brought one down for my dog. Just what we needed! I highly recommend!

Great site! We had a great time, and would recommend to other travelers. Plenty of room, and they even had a hammock and plenty of fire wood set up when we arrived.

We booked this last minute as many other state/federal park campsites were not available. We were so happy with the site, the privacy of the property, and especially the provided firewood. Cheers to Emily for being such an accommodating host!

Emily was a terrific host, with a wonderful location! Wooded and quiet, The site was spotless and exactly as described. Directions, and communication was spot on. Be sure to walk out onto road down to the farmers field at night. The view of the stars was phenomenal!!

Nice private campsites on a wooded hillside. Sites are large, secluded, quiet, and peaceful. Of the two RV sites, 3 is more wooded and 1 is more open and grassy. Site 1 looks to be a bit more level.

Our stay at Emily's was cozy and calm. We stayed at site one. This is the closest site to the road but, as was mentioned in another review, traffic on the road was sparse to non-existent during the night hours. Emily's communication was informative, helpful, and pleasant. The box of thoughtful items at our site, along with the dry firewood, simply made things more relaxing and enjoyable. Whether just passing through or staying for a bit, this is a good spot.

Such a cute little site and Emily was a great host. Would absolutely recommend and I will definitely return! My only critique is for site 2, it's the only site out of the 3 that's on a pretty steep incline. I'd suggest adding a stone walk way from the tent placement down to the fire pit. Or something to make it easier to get up and down the grassy hill. The grass is just very slippery from the dew in the morning. You can use the stone driveway to get up and down though, so it's not a big deal. 9/10, will definitely be returning. All three sites have a ton of space. Emily also leaves little care packages as well, which were very helpful along with plenty of firewood. I hope Emily gets more buisness! She deserves it.

Emily was a great host! Very clear directions to get to the site, and some thoughtful little details including the wood onsite was great! Only downside to camping on Site 1 was most of the site is on an incline, so it was a bit tough to find a good place to pitch. Site 2 has a dedicated camp pad though!

Emily is a great host. Had the fire going for me on arrival, which was a really nice touch. Site was comfortable, pretty close to level, and reasonably private. Only thing I'd love to see change would be a door (as opposed to the current Realtree curtain) and a roof on the outhouse. I didn't have to drop my morning deuce in the rain, but if anyone had been in the site across the driveway from the outhouse, they would have had a full view, because the wind made the curtain useless.

Allegheny Dream Getaway

We had our dream weekend getaway here primitive tent camping. The campsites are very spacious and have excellent views of rolling hills, forest and pasture. The surrounding roads were very quiet throughout the night, and we were only minutes from two covered bridges. For a day trip, we went to Big Mountain Overlook in the Buchanan State Forest. The campsite hostess was very polite on messaging through the app and kept the bathroom clean, but other than that we felt very secluded. I would definitely recommend this to anybody looking to experience the Allegheny Mountains in central Pennsylvania, a gem of the Appalachians.

Emily got us out of a bind last minute. New to hipcamp we thought we had another instant book booked but turned out they were closed. She was quick to respond and got us situated. Her spot is very tranquil. It had rained a ton and the site we wanted wasn't drivable but she got us into site 1 and we had a great time. Thanks for the juices and fire starter. Didn't get a chance to meet her in person but Soooo appreciate the quick response and setup.

Emily was super communicative and welcomed us by having a fire started, as well as with a fire starter log, drinks, and maps of nearby hiking trails. We booked this super last minute as and she approved our stay so quickly and we were so grateful for that as we were in a bit of a pinch. Although we had the entire property to ourselves, each site was super private. Our only issue was some worker hornets coming out at night as they were attracted to our fire/lantern. We stayed at site 3 which was the closest to Emily’s home & they had pigs who kept their distance, but were super cute when we got to get a glimpse of them :)

Would definitely tent camp here again! Emily was a wonderful host and built a fire for us as we arrived as well as providing a welcome kit of marshmallows, water, a citronella candle, and maps/info of the area. I honestly feel like the pictures are underrated and it's more beautiful in person.

One of the best sites I stayed on on our 21 day cross country trip. Emily was so helpful and gave perfect directions on how to get to the site! We arrived to our site to a welcome pack that had marshmallows, waters, dog treats and a starter log for us. When going to start the fire, I realized Emily had made sure the base of the pit was hot. All I had to do was throw kindle on it, break up a few twigs, put a couple logs on and it was easy upkeep from there. The site was quiet and my pup loved having the place to himself to roam. Our site was close to the main road but I heard maybe 5 cars drive by all night so it’s very low traffic/noise. This is a must stop for a private, getaway in the woods!!

Great camping experience

Emily’s land was awesome! And she is a great host, she had a fire lit for us before we got there, and it was perfect because we arrived later in the day. She also left a case of water and mellows!! There is also a compost toilet which is perfect for camping. You are close to a road, but it’s a rural road so no traffic at night, and only a few vehicles in the day. Compared to other hipcamps that charge hotel prices for camping Emily blows them out of the water with a fair price comparable and better than packed state campgrounds.
