Thank you for such a peaceful, gorgeous and dreamy respite. Healed by the nature, mountains, sweet cabin, blackberry bushes, lizards, butterflies, owls and of course baby goats. I could feel the thoughtfulness and care that went into the compound and I could not have asked for a lovelier time. ✨

Kathy was easy to communicate with. I had an unfortunate experience with torrential rains & after a 13 hour drive my navigation skills were not spot on. I landed at another Sugar Hollow(which is only 10 min away). Bottom line…..Kathy was very accommodating & rebooked me for my return drive home. Thanks Kathy!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the glamping sites a week after Hurricane Helene. We were fair warned that there was no power or wifi, but for us this didn’t matter, we’re “middle of no where” campers anyway. We were prepared for that. Kathi and her friend Daniel were so wonderful. They have an amazing piece of property and they’ve worked really hard and put a lot of thought into the layout of the buildings. They let us have a look at the other structures/cabins and they were SOOO cool. We will definitely be back for a stay in one of them. (These I believe are available on her air bnb site or verbo). I felt compelled to leave a review because these two deserve the recognition. They were kind and thoughtful and due to no power, they too had a campfire every night, cuz what else are you gonna do? Lol We we’re even serenaded by their joyful singing and hootin and hollerin round the fire. The whole vibe was love and nature and it only heightened my life goal of living in East TN. All this to say, I’m unsure of when they’ll have power again, but if you are okay with camping with only warmth from fire and no cell phones, than you can absolutely still visit this beautiful site.

Cool spot! The cabins were cute and clean. We were just there for a night but it was a sweet getaway. Kathi was kind, responsive, and easy to work with.

This is one of the coolest stays ever! You totally get the nature, Outdoors, camping experience without having to set it all up. Running water, electricity, a comfortable bed, a shower, a restroom all surrounded by wilderness and mountains. Even more enjoyable was the rain that fell on the tin roof.... none of it getting inside except for smell of fresh rainfall. I was being very antisocial and the caretaker checked the facilities waved and left. The next day I thanked him for the amazing opportunity and he was very gracious and kind. I would have loved to have had more time to spend at this lil jewel. Thank you Ma'am, for sharing your mountain with me!

Beautiful area with gorgeous views. Beds were incredibly comfy but it does get cold at night so make sure to bring layers!

I loved staying at the artistic cabins. It rained the first night, but it didn't get into the cabin. It has an outlet, a fan/light, fire pit, grill and an outhouse. The outhouse had showers. Mine was cold in the ladies, but my friend said he had a hot shower in the mens. Go figure! The location is near Twisting Falls and Watauga Lake Winery. It's about forty five minutes from Roan mountain. There are a lot of twists and turns to get up to the campsite so you can prepare. A general store is close by, but from what I hear, they only make ham sandwiches. Overall, a nice place to glamp.

From the moment we rode up the hill (on bicycles!), Kathi was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The location was perfectly away from everything, but had the amenities we love: warm showers! The rustic builds of the lodging made it feel cozy and unique, while having everything we’d need to stay comfortable. It is clear there is more cool stuff to come, and we’ll happily return.

Fabulous Glamping setup with all the amenities! Super close to lake Watauga and Wilbur Reservoir. Everything was clean and welcoming. The showers had more than enough hot water and towels.

We had a great stay on Kathi's land. The glamping tents were equipped with an electrical outlet as well as a ceiling fan. We loved the open concept of the glamping tents, the tent was screened in with one privacy cover facing the adjacent tent.. the bathroom and showers have a separate men and women's, with available hot water.. overall a great stay.

The Shelter that The Host built was beautiful, warm & inviting. The bathroom & shower area was very cool, very innovative. I will say research the area and make sure you know what kind of activities you plan on doing. I admit I wasn't prepared for the isolation of the area, but with proper planning your stay can be amazing!

Look for a quiet get-away in the mountains of Cherokee Nat’l Forest. We stayed in our host’s artistically built, screened-in huts, perfect combination of ‘indoor’ comforts and out-of-doors openness! Enjoyed short walking path, and glad of outdoor shower/restroom. Would be great for a campfire, but we just enjoyed sitting out, and listening to birdsong. 10 out of 10, would recommend!

What a great experience we had . Off the grid. The accommodations were perfect . The owners went well above expectations. By covering the windows with plastic and installing a great electric fireplace. The bathrooms and showers were clean and actual hot water for the showers. I can't wait to return. This was just what I needed. Highly recommend.

My son and I had a wonderful experience at Kathi’s huts. The weather was cold and she was kind to give us a heads up that the water lines to the bathroom/shower may be frozen (which they were). This was not that big of a problem for father and son. Everything was super clean and well cared for. I would love to return in the spring/summer/fall.

Mini cabin was a joy to stay in, private from the road and the main house, but not so much from the neighboring cabin. It has a fan, light, and outlets, but I'm super glad we brought our heated blankets you start warm through the night. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend to anyone.

Very nice scenic drive up to the property. No cell service, which was wonderful for the getaway. I thought I booked a tent campsite, but actually booked for mini yurt/cabin, which turned out to be a happy mistake. The cabin itself was screened in with a fan, light, & 2 plug ins. No heat in the cabin, but we brought heated blankets so we were warm throughout the night. There is fire pit for sharing between the two cabins. You don’t get much privacy with the neighboring cabin, so I recommend to the owners to install some curtains or blinds. There is no restroom yet but it looks like the owners plan to build one.
Overall a nice little place with great outdoor sounds!
