Creature comforts

Dog Mountain RV Park offers a variety of camp sites, including full hookup RV-camping, dry camping with or without electricity, tent and campervan camping, and overflow camping. We also offer a Glamping Unit with a kitchenette and three beds. Centrally located in the Columbia River Gorge, our RV Park offers a unique vantage point to experience the breathtaking beauty and spectacular waterfalls cascading from basalt cliffs, including the renowned Multnomah, Bridal Veil, and Latourell Falls. As you venture eastward, the landscape transforms into an even grander and more vibrant panorama. The Gorge is a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking, cycling, mountain biking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, excellent (salmon) fishing, two boat ramps nearby, and with Hood River, proudly recognized as the windsurfing capital of the world, only 15 miles away. Our area also offers the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and three volcanoes, Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Saint Helens, the Bonneville Dam and wineries, brewpubs, museums, and so much more. Our RV Park is not just a place to stay; it’s a gateway to unforgettable experiences in nature. Cancellation policy: you will receive a full refund if you cancel at least one week before your scheduled check-in. Disclosure: We're sure a lot of Hipcampers look for seclusion and peace and quiet, but that's not what you'll get at our park. Although our sites are spacious and the grounds are beautiful with impressive views, we're located along busy State Highway 14 and there's also a train coming through at all hours of the day and night (far more often than we like). Light sleepers, please ask our host for complimentary earplugs or bring your own.

Tent Site # T3
100% (1)
Tent site · Sleeps 4
Our park has four designated tent sites. Site T3 is on the lawn, on the north end of our park. You can park next to your site, take up two steps made out of flat rocks onto the grass below towering Douglas Firs. This tent site is not very close to the restrooms and showers. The site has a picnic table, a fire pit, and a barbeque. There's only room for one car. We know Hipcampers prefer seclusion and peace and quiet, but our RV Park is next to busy State Highway 14, and a train comes through far more often than we like, blowing its whistle day and night. Light sleepers, ask our host for complimentary earplugs. But our park is quiet and centrally located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, with lots of outdoor activities close by, including all the watersports, and excellent fishing. The beauty is stunning, the hikes and waterfalls superb, with wineries, brewpubs, white water rafting, kayaking, surfing, and mountain biking opportunities galore. Ask for a free visitor guide in the office. Our cancellation policy is strict: Full refund 1 week before check-in time CHECK IN between 1pm and 7pm. CHECK OUT is noon. Although all Hipcampers can choose to go straight to their site on arrival, we recommend ringing the doorbell at our office for the host (doorbell alerts the cellphone from the host someone is there). The host will share bathroom and Wi-Fi-codes, hand out a visitor guide, and offer other sites that might be available to choose from. Light sleepers, please ask our host for complimentary earplugs or bring your own. All we want is our guests to be happy and have a good time, and to ensure that, we're around to assist where needed. If you choose to go straight to your site, no problem. Just make sure you reach out for a campground map and our bathroom and Wi-Fi codes, and we can text them to you. Any late arrivals: please, be quiet to not disturb the other guests. Thank you. Hosts are available between 11AM and 7PM, depending on the season. In case the host doesn't hear the doorbell, please CALL for assistance. (Do not text or email because that will probably go unnoticed)

Site W14 is located off of a steep gravel driveway at the northern edge of our park. It's graveled, roomy, and private with a picnic table and a firepit. A water spigot is nearby. Although all Hipcampers can choose to go straight to their site on arrival, we recommend ringing the doorbell at our office for the host (doorbell alerts the cellphone from the host someone is there). The host will share the bathroom and Wi-Fi-codes, hand out a visitor guide, and can show any other site that might be available to choose from. All we want is our guests to be happy and have a good time, and to ensure that, we'll be around to assist where needed. If you still choose to go straight to your site, no problem. Just make sure you reach out for our bathroom and Wi-Fi codes. You may need them. Overflow w/electric (RV, Van, Tent)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 4 · Vehicles under 60 ft
Our overflow is a grassy area intended for .... (you may have guessed it) overflow. We installed four 30AMP electric hookups for travelers who couldn't find anything else during busy weekends with water spigots close by. Included in our overflow camping is a free shower and use of the restroom in our main building. We know Hipcampers prefer seclusion and peace and quiet, but that's not what they'll get on our overflow. You'll be out in the open, next to busy State Highway 14, and a train comes through far more often than we like, blowing its whistle day and night. But the advantage is our central location in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, an easy in and easy out into your spot, and no fuss. Another advantage is that we can accommodate anything, from a tent and campervan uo to a 46-foot motorhome.
