It was great experience to have a camping here. Their store has delicious coffee and Lopez ice cream plus awesome draft BEER! The bathroom was clean and well maintained. Their description shows the shower room is operated by coin but I think they updated their shower so you don't need a coin. You will just need to push the button. The store also sells a firewood with reasonable price, so you can enjoy camp fire every night. There is also a small playground for kids and only 2-3 minutes walk for beach. It was great for weekend+holiday getaway.
I love when wonderful sites are found and unexpected! We hadn’t researched the place because we like the surprise - lovely property, clean and safe. Great jump off point for hiking and exploring the island. Wonderful staff and gorgeous views at sunset! We already want to go back and bring the family and kayaks too!
West Beach Resort was a perfect camping getaway... providing small luxuries (a hot tub), necessities (nicely stocked and reasonably priced store), a friendly greeting upon arrival, and glorious sunset water views at days end. We loved the nightly frog chorus and morning bird-song. Our stay was quiet and since it was the shoulder season, we had much of the camping area to ourselves. The other accommodations (canvas tent glamping and cottages) have caught our attention and we hope to return to West Beach someday!
Cheers!
Chris & Kim (from NM & WA)
Amazing camp ground.
We stayed in one of the tent sites for one night. Every employee was helpful and kind, the facilities were well maintained, and the area was beautiful.
Definitely coming back!
Please stock more stickers and we'll buy some!
One of the best RV site I have ever stayed at ! It s in a small resorts with direct beach access, a long pier, playground, a store with essentials, coffee, pizzas, and much more.
The people working there are extremely welcoming and helpful.
The RV sites are well maintained and spaced out.
We really loved it and will be back for sure !
It’s a lovely little resort, especially if you stay in one of the cabins. I was in an RV spot, which are pretty close together. There was hardly anyone there though, so the size of the sites wasn’t an issue.
I was in a tiny teardrop and the advertised shower house was one of the reasons I picked this location. Unfortunately, it’s closed during the winter. That would have been good to know beforehand. I’d recommend either booking directly or messaging to make sure the description on Hipcamp matches the reality.
We did economy pitch tents and we had a beautiful , quiet site . walk to the beach it’s surreal. You can also take one of their cabins or one of their tent. Either way you will have a wonderful experience at this place. We loved it definitely come back.
I had an exceptional experience tent camping at the West End Beach resort. On top of the great amenities, super friendly customer service, and perfect location on the water and close to town, there were so many activities to do, such as a nightly bonfire, boats for rent, and a hot tub! I am hoping to get to stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone :-)
The camp site was family friendly and well maintained. We arrived in the dark and followed the map to our site. The map was unclear and the site was quite difficult to find in the dark so I would recommend showing up before dark. The sites are very close together so if you are looking for a private campsite, I would look elsewhere.
I thought this place was just on someone's private property and didn't realize it's a whole camping resort. It worked out just fine because as a single solo traveler, I felt incredibly safe. Loved the grounds. There are places to go enjoy the water, sunset, nature and just relax. Easy location and just minutes to all island activities. Next time I visit, I'll try one of the cabins directly on the water. But the tent sites on the grass were great and not on top of each other.
Great resort, bathrooms and showers were clean. The store was charming and the coffee stand was delicious. I see why people return year after year. The campsites are in an open field so not a ton of privacy, but the proximity to the water, and great atmosphere make it worth it!
This was a luxurious place to camp! We stayed here for a couple nights between camping in the Cascades and Olympics and it was the perfect reset. Bathrooms/showers are great and access to the hot tub/canteen/beach all felt like staying at a resort without paying too much money.
We loved tent camping at the resort. It is really nice to have a bar, store, showers and a great camping spot. Views and resort are spectacular! The staff couldn't have been more helpful and nice. We both recommend!
This is an amazing spot! Super clean, friendly staff, everything very well maintained. It was cool to have the little shop with beer, wine, coffee, and food! We plan to make this a yearly trip to see family!
Clean campsite, nice host, checkin was easy, and they have a little convenience store with food and supplies if you need it. Super close to the beach and was able to watch the sunset.
I was able to drive right up to the picnic table/fire pit for 51A. There wasn’t anyone else camping nearby, so it was super quiet. Restrooms were nearby, with showers and electrical outlets for a blow dryer. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There’s a small bar area, hot food (pizza, etc), candy and LOPEZ ICECREAM!!! Sunsets are gorgeous sitting by the dock…and some friendly cats on staff, too—by the laundry area! Loved this stay…would also look into the cabins they have available, especially the ones right on the water!
My stay was great, courteous staff, clean facility and lots to do.
The camper spot was next to a small pond. I really liked hearing the frogs at night.
We had a great time at West Beach Resort. This is a full-on resort: beachfront cabins, RV camping, glamping, and tent space. There was a store selling sundries, (excellent) espresso, and draft beer. There was even a hot tub available for campers for a small fee (bring your swimsuit). The shower/bath house was under construction but it was fine for our needs. It looked like they were doing a lot of work around the place and it is probably a vastly different experience in the summer! We were happy to go during the quieter season. Wifi was excellent and much better than expected, if that's important to you while camping.
Epic sunsets really doesn't cover it! They reminded me of the sunsets we get in Sitka, AK, that epic! Stunning views, fires, full kitchen, cute 2 bedroom. We really couldn't have asked for more. Definitely recommend!
This place is magical!! Camping and facilities are great and camp fire pits on the beach is awesome. Love the espresso and creamery ice cream. We will definitely come back and make it a yearly family getaway. Thanks
