Check in: After 3:00 PM Check out: Before 3:00 PM This campsite provides a large, creek side beach, hanging swings, fire pit, and room for at least 5 tents either near the creek (3+ tents) or in the Cedar Grove (2 small sites) and plenty of room for Hammocks A truly magical spot and easy access with a summer connection "fallen wooded" bridge from parking to the campsite. The "hike-in campsite" is a less than 1 min hike during summer. Be prepared to wear hiking shoes or even boots during the wet months and will have to take the extended trail when the creek is at high water levels in Winter and early Spring. This campsite is a rare gem-nestled quietly on the Little Wind River. These beloved woods are the remaining part of the once vast, St. Martin homestead-started in the late 1800s. Our family ties and our roots grow very deeply in these woods-we've been born and raised here and continue to strive to be good stewards of these lands. You might just see some of us around on the network of trails and rivers that you can explore if you wish. We recommend at least staying for two days to get the most out of this Hipcamp experience! From your staging parking spot, it's less than a 5min hike along the Little Wind River. (There is one bridge crossing so people with animals please be aware- Some dogs cross just fine and some don't. The walking bridge is off the Little Wind River about 15ft and is about 30ft long, if the dog doesn't want to cross it, they can cross the creek.) From there you will follow a short path up and down a slightly rooted hill and then to camp. If you're feeling tired already reading this - then this is not your campsite! This site is perfect for large groups of up to 10, with enough room for 5 large tents. Creek water is at your doorstep with a lush canopy and a picturesque setting of Pacific Yew, Western Red Cedar, and Douglas Fir forest as far as the eye can see-and the afternoon sunset is by far the best to view from Eagle's Nest. This is Wilderness camping without going into the Wilderness and taking the hours it takes to get there... Hot Springs Meadow is a well-maintained grassy meadow at the junction of two legendary rivers, the Wind and Little Wind. The first campsite on the property and most accessible with plenty of flat space for large groups, RV's, or just a bunch of tents. The ideal location allows easy access to rivers, fishing, swimming, and easy "in and out" to go visit the local sites. *Be prepared/aware to see other residents, campers, hikers, and fisherfolk walk through the upper part of the campsite to access the trails and other parts of property. However, the site is so large you will hardly notice them if you don't camp right next to the trail. I love it there! The sauna is a great addition on. Especially when you arrive later in day and can't find your way to the hot springs. I only have one recommendation. And there definitely needs to be a map of the camp area cause service is hit and miss in the area and could get turned around... Other then that this is a fav or mine!!! Happy camping!!!

Absolutely magical. Definitely a bit of work to get the camping gear from the parking spot across the Little Wind to the campsite, but so worth it. So quiet, secure and peaceful. Will be back for sure!

We’d stayed before at a different site but could never find an available date at Cedar Grove. We finally booked it and it was awesome. The creek crossing to get to the site makes it very fun (pay heed to the warnings about bringing proper shoes to get to it as it can get a bit slippery). Watching the river flow by, gazing at the stars and falling asleep to the sound of the water was all magical. The property is very nice with access to the Wind river. The outhouses were very clean. There’s no drinking water access that we could see, so make sure to bring enough for your stay. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time during our stay and the property is beautiful!! The only part I didn’t like was the bridge. The log on the right is decaying quite a bit and so the platform leans a lot. In the end I just crossed at the creek.

Nature Sanctuary

This homestead is a relaxing beautiful sanctuary for everyone. Perched next to a river the tall trees make you feel like you are in a tree house with the squirrels and birds. It is peaceful and quiet and has an amazing sauna and outdoor shower. It is quite literally the dreamiest handbuilt tiny house you will ever set foot in.

This campsite is in a beautiful spot among the Wind and Little Wind Rivers, offering a peaceful and private experience. The composting toilets are clean, and the log table at the Little Island campsite is useful, though the deck is weathered so much, we weren’t inspired to use it. The cable gate system at the site entrance is cumbersome and honestly, is a pretty big safety concern (considering everything from a quick moving forest fire to a sprained ankle, needing to get to a medic) relying on a shared key, which could be problematic in an emergency. Individual keys or an emergency exit from the site would be better. The site is buggy, and with few trees, it’s hard to hang hammocks or lights. Improving river access (to both Wind and Little Rivers) with better trails, foot bridges, would also enhance the experience. Despite these issues, the location’s natural beauty makes it worth a visit.

Restorative stay at Fern

This was our third stay at Fern, and we are planning on returning to this magical and artisanal place. We had a phenomenal restorative stay at Fern. Nestled deep within a lush forest of towering cedar trees, this site is a true retreat into nature. We loved eating breakfast and birding on the patio. The trails, Wind River and Little Wind, are stunning features on the large property. Faith was a welcoming host and Chris was a knowledgeable guide who helped us explore the local area. One of our favourite aspects of the tiny home was the outdoor shower. The shower is perfectly positioned to give us a sense of privacy while still being connected to the beautiful environment around us. The setup at Fern has thoughtful details such as comfortable chairs and a hammock that made it easy to relax and unwind. We were also able to book the sauna for private use, which was an amazing daily activity that we always followed by a cold plunge in the tub. This Hipcamp site is a perfect escape for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature. We can’t recommend it highly enough!

Great time at Eagle's Nest!

We had a great multi-night experience at Eagles Nest. The short hike into the camp was well maintained and clearly marked. The bridge was a lot of fun to cross and well designed. The camp area was larger than we expected, flat, and very private. Even though there were other people camping on the property it felt like we were alone. The compostable bathrooms were very clean, organized, and well maintained. We really enjoyed walking the river, exploring the area, and having some quiet in nature. Great experience and will definitely want to return!

I have camped at WindWoodRivers three times now and it just keeps getting better! The sites are well maintained and the setting is absolutely magical. The new toilet system is a wonder, doesn't even smell bad! The hosts are great too! A high recommend from my whole family.

The sites are spread out enough that ya don't see other campers unless y take a stroll. Really fantastic spot for kiddos, because the stream is slow and there are all kinds of little wading holes.

When we arrived at the campsite I wasn't sure it was a good fit - it was a bit smaller than anticipated, there was a bit of garbage we had to pick up, the air was very humid and their was smoke in the air. The next day we explored the property and found an amazing amount of blackberries, there were fun hiking trails to explore and many spots along the creek and river to cool down. The composting toilets were so clean and nice. I would recommend the campsite if you are looking for a nice place to walk, sit in the river, read, cook and relax.

Easy easy accessible spot for larger vehicles, but it’s not as quiet as some of the other locations. There’s a sauna across the street, but not sure how to access it. The bathroom is very nice and clean.

This was my second time camping at WindWoodRiver, first time at Cedar Grove and we absolutely loved it. We slept so well with the natural white noise on an otherwise hot night in The Gorge.
