Weekend Trip to Lake Georgia-Sue

5 stars out of 5. We could not have loved this trip more. Great environment, great people, great animals. If you're worried about the train sounds camp on the opposite side of the lake. We found it soothing & slept great. A must stay!

Weekend Trip to Geist Family Farms

We had a wonderful time staying on Allie's land! The private bathroom and shower area was very clean. They were accommodating and kind and even brought us fish food and worms. The catfish were huge and fun to watch! It was an incredibly peaceful experience. Thank you!

This site was perfect for our camper-children. Even beyond the excellent tent camp area and excellent fishing available, was the cordial and authentically real hospitality of Ryan and Allie.

Weekend Trip to Basecamp Flint Hills

We stayed 3 nights in RV site 2. The site was just as advertised with electric hookups and water available at the site. The site is perfectly located on the Flint Hills Trail. We rode in each direction and the trail was in exceptional shape. Amy sent a welcoming message and answered promptly. I would recommend this site. Quiet and comfortable place to spend time with family or friends. Thanks Amy!

This was my first camping trip with my grandsons and new travel trailer. Davion and his daughter helped us newbies with everything we needed, even checking on us after dark. The land and lake is beautiful. We will be back.

We had such a great time! Very quiet and a good distance away from other campers, overall a very peaceful weekend. We’re already talking about planning our next trip! The lake was great for swimming and fishing!!

3 nights at Lake Georgia-Sue

Our stay was fantastic. The Fisherman's Cove site we were at had a really great view over the water. The host was welcoming and gave us a tour when we arrived and told us about all the animals and other property information and some history. There was plenty of space on the property, and the laid back slow paced vibe was excellent. And we were close enough to town to run in and get a few things we needed for the weekend. The only downside is it's near railroad tracks. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you're particularly sensitive to sound, you might not enjoy the trains.

The camping here was great! The host was amazing, dropping off firewood at your camp site was a nice touch.

We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, camping in the shade, and cooking out over a fire. The hosts were attentive and helpful and made sure we had everything we need. It was fun to see all the animals as well! The train noise was the only downside.

Basecamp Flint Hills is a must-stay if you are in the area. The accommodations were great and the views spectacular. We were sad to leave but hope to get back here again.

Would recommend and plan to stay again if we are in the area. Host is fantastic and goes above and beyond. We had a rooftop tent which was a good fit for the space. Area was private-there’s a bit of traffic noise, but did not bother us.

Great space, many of options depending what you want to do. Surrounded by horses, goats, ducks and all the animals. Very accommodating camp host! Only thing to note is this is near train tracks, so some sites are close to noise. We didn’t have a problem in our roof top tent.

Fred’s place is fantastic. Davion helped us when we arrived, showed us around and made us really feel at home. Thank you so much!

1 night at Basecamp Flint Hills

We really enjoyed our evening here! Amy and Darius happened to be on-site and were super welcoming. The site offered everything we needed: a flat spot for our campervan, very clean porta potties and shower, and plenty of space for our dog to scamper around. The tent area looked really nice, too, and the overall vibe was very friendly and relaxed. We were in the area to visit the Tallgrass Prairie National Reserve, but this would also be a great spot for anyone interested in gravel biking in the area. (Amy even let me take her g-bike for a short spin!)

The spot was great for us. We did an overnight. Super quiet, abundant bird life and privacy. Nice spots for tent camping too.

Weekend Trip to Lake Georgia-Sue

My family and I had the best camping experience on Fred’s land! We have a 4 & 7 year old and they had a blast hanging out with all of the animals, riding their bikes, fishing, paddle boarding and just exploring the beautiful land. My husband and I were able to relax at the campsite while we kept an eye on them from afar as they explored. They brought wood for our campfire, a generator for our RV, and they have a cozy little office where you can use the restroom, shower, and just sit and visit with the wonderful hosts and their sweet dog. We couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience and will definitely be back!

What a great campsite! Amy and Darius have thought of everything to make a comfortable and inviting spot. This was my second time at this peaceful and remote camp in the Flint Hills and I will surely be back.

Kate’s property was not only beautiful, but all the different amenities she provided helped to make our camp experience extra special. Our only issue was we didn’t have time to stay longer! Would definitely recommend and GREAT for families!

Lake Georgia-Sue is an 85 acre oasis of relaxation and fun. We are located in East Central Kansas, not far from Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, and Wichita. The lake itself is 8 acres, with a lot of fish, swimming, small craft boating, kayaking, and wind surfing. The property has numerous sites where you can private pasture your horses, work them in our private round pens, and trail ride them in the hundreds of miles of trails that intersect the property. These are VERY large and private campsites with no nosey or loud neighbors. Sites are for primitive camping, RVs needing electric hookups via available generators, fresh water. Lakefront sites or forest sites are available. Showers, toilets, AC Clubhouse, playground, ponies, pet pigs, goats, and chickens. Pet friendly. Group camping for up to 25 people. Great for weddings, birthdays, etc We are just a short drive from four larger state lakes. An abundance of good restaurants are just ten minutes away, and sometimes we take a trail ride to eat Mexican or BBQ in the village close by.

Little Spot on the Prairie

Come reconnect with nature and rejuvenate by the water at this unforgettable escape. Stargaze, watch sunsets, or curl up and read on the 15 foot hammock by the water. You’ll see lots of wildlife-ducks, geese, a great blue heron, deer, and more have been spotted by the pond. The pond is about an acre in size and we also own the hay field south of the pond all the way to the road. You are welcome to walk around the pond on the path we’ve mowed and can also walk the field (depending on the time of year). It’s a hay field and you’ll see all sorts of vegetation growing up, including some beautiful wildflowers in the spring. The RV spot is in a large grassy area next to an apple and peach tree. We also have a small asparagus patch and a raised bucket garden with tomatoes. Feel free to grab a couple items to add to your dinner as needed (depending on the season). We do have barn cats (and frequently kittens) that might venture over to say hello and a new puppy named Pepper. Pepper loves new people, but wears a collar connected to an electric fence outside, so he won’t be able to reach your rv spot. However, you are more than welcome to walk to him and give him all the love and snuggles. We also have three children that you may see outside climbing trees, reading in homemade hammocks, or playing cabbage ball in the yard. For the explorers, there are plenty of gravel roads to bike, kayaks and a paddleboat available for the pond, and plenty of fish in the pond to catch. There is also an apple orchard up the road that has a small storefront and a mini golf course in the back. Emporia is only 4 miles south of us so there’s plenty of grocery stores and restaurants nearby.
