I enjoyed the peacefulness, my tour with Jim, the animals, and breakfast. It was a special opportunity to be with alpacas, goats, camels, and a donkey! Stacey and Amanda were very nice and communicative. I expected an assigned site, but really you just park on the grass that is shared by other campers and the alpacas. The property is leased from an owner who has a lot of eyesore junk on the property, which is unfortunate. It’s a lovely setting between Mt. Rose and Washoe Lake. Overall a very enjoyable and laid back time for my first Hipcamp experience!

2 nights at Harris Family Farm and Forest

The tent camping on Jane's land was awesome! Its tucked away, and surrounded by trees, but not too far from her farm or civilization. The entire campground was very clean and so were both porta potties. It's pretty quiet most of the time- the campground is by a road, so you hear cars coming, but its not bad. The campground is also near a creek woth a flat trail that branches off into a couple other trails, which is very nice. My husband and I went there with our 2 dogs and were at site#2, which was very big- big enough for 3 to 4 tents. Lots of fun! Jane and her staff was also very friendly and very accommodating! We bought some goodies at her farm and they were amazing! Thank you Jane, for your kindness and for letting us camp at your campgrounds, its beautiful!

2 nights at Water front on Topaz Lake

A little tricky to find, look for the Topaz Resort sign, it’s small, pass it and you’ve got several miles before you could turn a trailer around. Once there, it was a jewel of a spot. The owners had done extensive dirt work and all the sites were dry level gravel with power and water. The views were lovely , Access the the lake right from your campsight for swimming, fishing or boating . We were the only campers there so it was very quiet with lots of birds and no bugs ! The restrooms immaculate as well. We will be back!

This ranch is amazing!!! Prompt responses from my host. You can come and go with ease, feel safe in the presence of all the animals and the area is amazing. Close to Carson city and a quick drive to Reno. I highly recommend. The price was also super fair and spacious to fit my toy hauler. Come check it out. It was great

The lake was beautiful and our spot was nice and level for our van. It was crazy windy, so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the fun amenities, but the shower was super clean and nice with lots of special touches. We would definitely come back!

We had so much fun staying on Helen's site and letting our dog run around our area while we relaxed. Lots of space to set up and beautiful birds singing, lots of fire wood available for when it's appropriate. I was initially nervous about arriving there and locating the area, but Apple Maps took us right to the dirt road and Helen's directions are very accurate. It was no problem at all for our '05 Chevy pickup. The outhouse was very well maintained and did not stink at all, which is impressive! Helen was very communicative until the moment we lost service and again, once we regained it upon departure. It was quite buggy during the day, so some netting would be handy if that bothers you! Can't wait to come back.

Come for the awesome campsite, stay for the delicious freshly baked donuts. I loved where this campsite is located, beautiful trees, and very nice trail to walk. Across the street is the lovely farm. Jane is very nice, she told me all about her dogs. I picked Campsite 5 based on previous reviews. I would absolutely stay here again, especially at campsite 5. It was just me and my son, but there was plenty of room to add more tents and not feel crowded at all. Each site has a picnic table, a couple plastic chairs, and a fire ring. They even provide fire wood. Port-o-potties are kept clean. My son appreciates the free wifi. I will be back with the rest of my family and hopefully a longer stay. Thank you to Jane and her family for being wonderful camp host.

It is on this property that I saw my first grouse. Also look for warblers-notably Audubon's and the Hermit Warblers- along with the White-headed Woodpecker. You will likely hear a Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see one Learn more about this land: Welcome to Sugarpine Slopes. The Sugarpine has the longest cones in the world and many birds and mammals like the pine nuts and use the tree for habitat. This is a spring through fall place only. There is no winter access. The property is at 5800 feet. Depending on the weather the road may close from Nov 15th to May 15th. The road on the property is a dirt road. All wheel drive or 4WD vehicles recommended although the lower section could be accessed by most vehicles. Shorter trailers allowed at Site A. Site 3 can also accommodate a small teardrop-style trailer The property is totally undeveloped at this time. It is a wildlife corridor for deer and bear (keep all food contained), the mountain quail and the blue grouse. Keep your eyes open for the Hermit Warbler, Audubon's Warbler, and our gorgeous visitor from the tropics the Western Tanager. You are likely to hear the Pileated Woodpecker and if you are lucky you will see it and its red crest in an undulating flight through the trees. The property has a lovely west facing slope which climbs gradually at first then more steeply to the top of the property. We have drive-in camping on the lower section. There is one walk-in site at the top of the property. There is wonderful hiking nearby with several trailheads in the area within approximately 4 miles. We are located in Foresthill 30 minutes above Auburn. 15 minutes from the town of Foresthill. We offer off grid RV camping in the forest right off Foresthill Road, here you can experience the view of the Crystal Butte Mountains. Additionally, we offer close access to dirt bike trails. You can hike our 55-acre farm, ride mountain bikes, or even bring your horse for trail riding. We have a communal fire pit meaning - all campers are expected to share the one fire pit we offer. All roads on the farm lead back to the campground. What does off grid RV camping mean? Well, that means we have no power or water hook ups. We do have potable water access. You are more than welcome to bring your own generator if you please. Quite hours from generators and campers are from 10pm-8am Are Dogs welcome? Of course they are welcome the are family. All we ask is for them to be leashed at all times and no poop bags are allowed on the farm. Their poo helps fertilize our trees as nature intended. However, please clean up after your pets in the camping area and please take it with you when you leave. Don’t feel like cooking while your camping? No worries we have restaurants in town that would love to serve you. Lastly, the farm has no trash cans or dumpsters on site. We are a "pack it in pack it out" farm. History of the snowy peaks- the Wilson family started the Snowy Peaks Farm in 1979. When you camp with us the tallest trees you see are planted from the original family. Snowy Peaks opened the gates for choose and cut Christmas trees in 1984. Since then, the property has had 3 owners: the Wilson’s, Armstrong's and now the Jones family who are continuing the tree farm legacy. Over the years we have HAND planted (yes hand planted) well over 30,000 trees to make up for every single tree we sell during the Christmas tree season. We highly recommend an off-road vehicle/ATV or eBikes for easy access to creek. 3) Be aware you are in the middle of the forest and wildlife such as bear, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, etc have been spotted on the property. Poison Oak is also common. 4) The property has cell service in the upper quadrant, however once you drop below the tree line toward the creek there is no service.
