To find Jacob's, you'll snake back through a rural "neighborhood" for a while -- but then! Just like that! You're alone! In the middle of nowhere! While not 100% remote, it did feel like we had a lot of space and privacy. The land is divided clearly into different spots, which would make it excellent for mixed group camping (e.g. folks in the group could stay in different accommodation types: tent + yurt + wooden goddess). We stayed in the Wooden Goddess and found it to be clean (no cobwebs or dust), equipped with sturdy furniture (basic futon & coffee table), and secure (windows and doors sealed well from the elements). We brought a table to set up an outdoor kitchen for our stay, and thought an outdoor picnic table nearby would have been nice. (There are some tables around the property, so it's probably just a matter of moving tables around?) We loved our stay, and took astrophotography from the property because it was so dark and night sky visibility was great! We did not have to battle extreme heat during our stay, but be warned: there isn't a lot of natural shade nearby, so keep that in mind if you do book in this area!

The site was wonderful! Richard is a very conscientious host, and the site is extremely well equipped with everything you need from stoves to firewood to a beautiful tent for your night stay. We had a wonderful time and we look forward to coming back again!

Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm

I recommend this to groups of all types. I am a solo female traveller and I camped out here for a night super last minute. There is TONS todo in the area and you are staying in your own private mossy paradise. The site is unbelievable and everything was super clean and nice. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

The property is just stunning. From the tipi you get a good view of the valley. The tipi is set up with an extremely comfortable queen bed with all the blankets you could possibly need. There is a great deck around the whole thing perfect for sitting and watching the sunset. The property is quiet and the creek that runs next to the tipi makes for relaxing sounds. We will definitely be returning. Perfect distance from Bend and Sisters for day trips!

5 stars – Peaceful, dog-friendly stay with an incredible host This was my first time camping with my 15-year-old dog, and it exceeded all expectations. The tent was spacious and cozy, with clear views through the open sides — perfect for enjoying nature while staying comfortable. It felt incredibly peaceful with tons of wildlife around, and my dog loved it. She even made a friend, Daisy, who led her down to the pond to feed the fish — an unexpected and heartwarming moment. Richard, the host, went above and beyond. He thought of everything and was so helpful with communication and setup. The directions and pin drop were crucial since cell service is spotty, but once you’re there, it feels like a true retreat. I came here to reset and connect with my dog — and that’s exactly what happened. Would absolutely return.

Weekend Trip to Rags To Rescues Sanctuary

We absolutely loved our stay at The Bunkhouse. We were warmly greeted and made to feel most welcome by Bonita and Red. The Bunkhouse was cozy and comfortable, and the farm was an amazing place to spend a few quiet days. Bonita provided us with Mountain Bikes and every morning we rode the trails into Sisters for Coffee and Breakfast. Our daughter loved feeding and interacting with the farm animals which also gave us some great downtime:-). Overall experience really was 5-stars! We typically head out to Bend but Sisters our new go-to, and Rags to Rescues Farm will be our choice of accommodation every time we can book it. 100% recommend..... we will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm

This campsite is a real gem. I echo previous campers in saying that Richard has done a stellar job with all sorts of touches for a perfect 'glamping' experience. The tent was large, clean and sturdy, the covered patio was very comfortable, the sink/cooking station was great, and there was plenty of room for other tents. Nice big cots, mobile charging port, lots of lighting. The fire pit was also awesome, and loved that plenty of wood was provided (along with gas for the two stoves and plenty of water for cleaning). The hammocks were a treat too. Very close to some spectacular natural wonders in the McKenzie River system. Highly recommend, and look forward to coming back.

Weekend Trip to Sage Ridge

Truly a magical spot! Having our x-small propane fire pit inside, the Tipi was incredible. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking to do something new and exciting in Bend.

Great spot, especially for kids! Ping pong and corn hole was a big hit for my grandson. The Aloha trailer was tidy and convenient with the ability to cook. Hosts are super friendly and helpful!

Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm

This place was so beautiful and relaxing! It had all of the amenities to make camping easy for a larger group. It was nice not to pack everything we would need ourselves. We had a lovely time cooking dinner and spending time in the shared spaces like the little covered areas and fire pit area. It was also easy to explore different spots in the area. A short drive to Blue pool and Clear lake. There was a little convenience store close by too.

We loved the land with its junipers and Artemisias. The tipi was big and well constructed. Sandy & Tim did a great job creating their campground. My family and I had a lovely time under the stars.

I’d definitely recommend this cabin for your sister’s stay! Our unique location is close to Bend city limits and right next to Horse Ridge Mountain Biking Trails. BLM land surrounds the area, and is even accessible from the upper part of our property. Come out and enjoy the high desert and expore the juniper forest. We have tent camping sites and one tipi. We are currently in the process of still building out our glamping pods. However in the mean time you can currently book a stay at thoses sites for tent camping. The tent sites offer a comfortable setting for your tent in the sandy dirt. Each site includes a picnic table and a fire pit. We have a small community area! There you will find a mini outdoor kitchen with a blackstone and a bbq. (We have no water on-site) This is also where the trash bins are located. There is also a basketball hoop, yoga deck, and pull up /hanging bars. Next to the community area is where you will also find the bathroom, which is a clean porta potty. Come enjoy wandering the juniper forest and sage brush in Central Oregon’s high desert. We are next to 100’s of acres of BLM land, including the Horse Ridge Mountain Biking Trail System. There is hiking, biking, horse trails and ATV trails all nearby. Our open skies are great for daydreaming and stargazing. Come see how bright the milky way is out here Sage Ridge. Sage Ridge is only 15 miles east of Bend right off of Hwy 20.

Experience Heaven

8 campsites and 2 original Mongolian Gers. The season for the camp sites is from June 1st to end of Sept and the Gers for 2025/2026 winter are blocked out from Nov 15/25 to May 15/26. Pets allowed, toilets on site, campfires permitted when burn ban is not in place. Now up until this year I have provided Free Firewood. I have quit doing that for a variety of reasons, the least being the cost and the work for me. I am encouraging everyone to purchase a Propane Fire Pit if you don't have one by now. I am not to the point yet of saying no big dogs. Talk to me if you think your "big dog" might not fit in. I don't like running thru other campers sites, so just be respectful. Take them for walks along the lake, not having them run thru everyone else's camp sites. No Yappers, no barking dogs, no yapper's, no pain in the butts. Why would you drive by 46 grocery stores and forget to bring ice? No loud music. I have changed quiet time to 9:00 PM. You need to listen to the chaos/stressful music I suggest you start a band or become a DJ. What I want folks to get out of being here, whether they are camping or staying in the Gers is just to “take a break”. Relax, appreciate, assess and just listen. I hope what you hear is the sound of life and of course all the Angels that make up this special piece of Heaven. Then there is the silence. The best part of “Heaven”.

Pitch a tent out in the pasture, near the canal that runs through the property. We are a perfect location to the fairgrounds for the Farewell Festival and all Bend festivals throughout the year. We are 4 miles to the festival sights in Redmond and 20 min to Bend. We offer shuttle rides to and from the festivities so just enjoy the ride, enjoy the show and come home for a relaxing evening under the stars. If coming for The Farewell Festival we offer the purchase of a weekend shuttle pass to and from the fairgrounds for the weekend so you can enjoy your time and not spend it stuck trying to get out of the parking lot!! If you are bringing an RV or trailer we have hookups for electric (first come basis). We are close to Bachelor for skiing, Smith Rock for hiking, Sisters for shopping, too many lakes to name and 20mins to all Bend has to offer and so much more!

We also have books to recommend 100's of other hiking, biking, nordic skiing and alpine skiing nearby!
