2 nights at HolisticLifeFarm Clatskanie OR

So much gratitude for all the beings that make up Holistic Life Farm. Paul, his wife, and their assistant were all wonderful. One of their cats greeted me when I pulled in, and by the end of my two night stay I had met their other young kitties, their elder dog, chickens, flock of sheep with playful young lambs, and assorted cows. I was also able to purchase a sampler of some of their farm products, all of which was extremely high quality. I really enjoyed the a-frame tucked away on the edge of the property. It was warm so I kept the one side open to stay closer to outdoors. I truly was tempted to extend my stay, but have to keep up with some other tasks for now. Looking forward to next time!

Weekend Trip to Nature Camp, Cabin and Farm

This campsite had everything we were looking for--privacy, quiet, and beauty. Our kids loved visiting the farm animals and skipping rocks in the river. We had plenty of space in our site with a sturdy picnic table that was close to very clean restrooms. We really enjoyed the sound of water nearby all weekend, and occasionally the bald eagles nesting overhead. The host was very friendly and helpful, and provided everything we needed. No complaints at all!

Weekend Trip to Gather and Feast Farm

Our campsite at Gather and Feast Farm was an absolute delight! Waking up to the sounds of goats, pigs, and chickens was such a fun change from the usual campground noise. But the real stars of the show were the Highland cows – they are even more magnificent in person! Getting to see them up close was definitely the highlight of our trip. And Mark, the owner, was incredible! He was so welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a unique and memorable camping experience, this place is a must visit.

1 night at River Mountain Meadow

This was a fantastic spot tucked away on the back acreage of a private home at the end of a quiet road. With only two campsites on the property, there was plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Our German Shepherd, Trooper, loved having the room to run and play freely. We even had a few friendly visits from the neighbor’s cows on the other side of the fence—an unexpected treat! The location is also incredibly convenient. Just minutes from charming Battle Ground with its fun vintage shops, and only 20 minutes to Vancouver or 30 minutes to Portland. It’s the perfect mix of quiet countryside and suburban access. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quiet retreat with room to roam.

Secluded campsite off the road and up the hill. Beautifully replanted after storm damage. Mind the saplings while maneuvering around the camping area. The drive to/from this area is also a treat.

Where do I even begin? This place has everything! Trees, gardens, wildlife, a creek, beautiful star filled skies, chickens, farm cats, rv spots, tent spots, air BnB, and Dan. I’m pretty sure Dan and my wife became best friends. He showed us all around the property, showing us all of the beautiful foods and flowers they grow, the history of the property, and took us on walks by the creek for agate hunting and cedar branches to make walking sticks. Waking in the morning to the sound of the trees rustling and the birds chirping was the cherry on top. For those tent camping or not equipped with a bathroom, they’ve thought of everything! There’s a camper bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, and laundry! I could go on and on. David was very thoughtful and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. If you love nature, great conversation, with thoughtful amenities, this is your place. We will definitely return!

We loved camping on Holistic Life Farms! When we first arrived we were welcomed by James the farm dog who never barked once and was so sweet with our dog. James lead the way to our Luxury Glamping tent. The tent is amazing and has a gorgeous deck overlooking beautiful forests. The tent has a comfortable bed, desk, end table, cabinet you can store things under, and a charging station for your phones, etc...which was very helpful. There is cell phone service but opted out of communicating with the outside world, as we were mesmerized with the beauty of our surroundings. There is an overhead light, beautiful wood floors, a large rug and two armchairs. The best part is the woodburning stove which we used every night and morning. Having coffee in bed with the warmth of the stove was Luxury at its finest. The deck is quite big and is covered so if it rains you can still enjoy the outdoors and the solar lights come on at night. There are two chairs, a small table and a large table to put your camping stove on. We did bring an additional folding table for the deck . Handy for extra gear. The composting toilet is very close, well thought out and well kept. Bring a good flashlight to get you to the toilet as it is pitch black when the solar lights turn off . The next morning we met Kyle the farm hand, Buttercup the cow, Sidney, and Paul the owner who is amazing! All absolutely lovely people. We bought grass fed steaks and raw milk. So delicious. Weekend Trip to Your Farm in the City

What a fun place to stay! Love that it's close to town, in case you want to venture out. But it also doesn't feel like you're in the thick of things - you do see planes flying over, and if you look at it you can see 122 traffic, but it really doesn't disturb the vibe and you only notice if you look or occasionally hear it. She is VERY responsive to texts if you have questions, but you're also not bothered if you just want peace during your stay. The bathrooms are clean, the ground are pretty. The historic things on site are fun, and it was great to see the goats and turkeys!

Weekend Trip to Columbia River Camping

After spending a quick night out in the fresh air, I fully plan on going back here again. It is a beautiful site with a lot of solitude, and is the perfect place to relax, launch SUPs or canoes, and enjoy the stars. As long as you understand that there are no amenities and have the necessary gear, you won’t be disappointed.

Batwater Station on Columbia River

Batwater Station is located halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast on the Columbia River. A private refuge where river otter, beaver, mink, muskrat, seals, raccoons along with threatened Columbia river white tailed deer can be seen. Property has 1,000 feet of boat docks, river deck, and pier. At the pier is a full kitchen, heated bathroom and shower room. Included are 2 outhouses, a fire pit for summer months, a viewing station overlooking the wetlands along with brick charcoal fired barbecue and another propane barbecue. We are committed to your privacy so guests are limited and spread out. High speed internet through out the property. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs. Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you. Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too. Check out the pictures for more information.

Relax at the River

We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away. The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to. There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property. We value your privacy. We do have cameras on the property that are on when no one is there. Once a Hipcamper arrives at the property, they are turned off. We also keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will never be there camping when you are there. In the summer, we sometimes kayak. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If it is booked at that time, we will always check first to see if it is okay for us to get out there. If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer. Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out! We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. Please ask if you expect to arrive earlier or want to check out later. If your plans change, please cancel through Hipcamp to get a refund.

The Arboretum at Bear Canyon West

This is a gorgeous park-like RV campground situated between the trees of the arboretum. No tents, please. Also we have NO public restrooms. Beautiful view of the mountains and forests here in western Washington. We are close to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier and several lakes. There are walking trails all around the site. The 12 acre campground is located on a 136 acre property that is an active Christmas tree farm. Trails continue throughout the tree farm. Many trails have a view of the Tilton River, which can be reached via a challenging 3/4 mile trail. Sites are on 10 acres planted with many different species of trees that are about 30 years old. Giant Redwoods, Cedars, and Maples are just a few of the varieties present. Part of the farm is still a working Christmas tree farm. The trails are wide and grassy. The old logging road that we use as a trail to the river has an elevation change of about 500 feet, the trail can be quite challenging. Bear Creek empties into the Tilton river at the end of the trail. There is an ART GALLERY where you can learn to pound flowers, see the host's artwork and get a cup of coffee! This is upstairs above the shop, right on the property. Tilton River Studio Gallery. Three sites have electrical hookups. Every site has a water spigot (use a pressure regulator if you want to hook up). No restrooms or sewer hookups. Garbage disposal site available Memorial Day to Labor Day. This is a great place to get away from the scattered urgency of modern life. We want you to reconnect with what matters most and get some new inspiration! We are 25 minutes west of I-5, halfway between Seattle and Portland. Pacific Ocean beaches are 1.5 hours away. Our guests love the near-by swimming hole, shared fire areas, fresh produce and clean outhouses. Meeting the farm animals, napping in the hammocks, mastering the rope swing and wandering the many paths are also memory-makers. Some of our "extras" -- Farm Tours, Propane Firebowls, Saunas, and more -- are available for purchase when you make your booking. ALL SITES have flat tent spots, a picnic table, hammock, sun, shade, outhouse access and room to park. Sites are 300 feet apart, on average. River Mountain Meadow

Learn more about this land: It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond, but the Lewis river is in within walking distance and tons of recreational activities are close by (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with a few residential homes and Airbnbs along the river, so be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is close by for a quick trip. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a close trip out of town for a day or two. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow!!! Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. We plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal so it dries out depending on how much rain we get). Please, read each site description carefully! Site 1 has a composting toilet for tent campers (please do not rate me based on this or any other things out of my control, I have tried my best to inform you about what to be aware of in this description AND each site's description). The toilet is santized, bags and gel are provided and it's private. You MUST pack out ALL waste; if you do not like any of these conditions please do not book this site. Site 2 is for RVs that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules.

RV+ Rainbow Falls / Willapa Trails

(This is a leave no trace site. You must take all of your garbage with you!) Just 1.5 hours from Seattle, Portland, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, & Olympic National Park, just 3 minutes from Rainbow Falls State Park and 4 minutes from Willapa Biking Trail! We are located on top of Bunker Hill nestled between the Dunn creek and Chehalis river. Our property is 56 acres of mixed biomes including multi-generational forests, open meadows, and creek side trails. We are located right off Chandler Road, off of Highway 6. You turn onto Labri road (white sign) and you're on the property after going through a gate. Meander down the road past a red barn and several buildings on your right. Through the second gate, the dispersed camping site offers various sites for camping attached to a main trail that parallels the Dunn creek down to the Chehalis river. They are conveniently accessible off the logging roads which cross with Labri road after you've passed through the second gate. If you take the logging road to the left (look for a blue and white ribbon) you will come up to a tree line where you can park (another blue and white ribbon) and either take the trail to the left or right where you will find ample places to camp. You may camp along the trail or closer to the creek. The most ideal spot is right after you park near the blue and white ribbon if you walk North you'll see a site marked with an orange and white ribbon. This site has easy access to the creek but is still on a hill. There are four RV spots with full onsite hook-up. Two of the RV sites are paved and lit with ground lights and are prioritized for heavier rigs. The other two sites are on grass. We have two RV sites with no hook up (boondocking) but bathroom and shower access. We do not allow dumping of grey water or sewage at our property but there is a dump station just 1 minute away at Rainbow Falls State Park. The site is located on a hill so you get very nice view of sunsets and sunrises. For those who enjoy bird watching the nearby fruit trees bring in many birds. We are an ideal location for those who love the outdoors or just want to have private family events. 6 mi from Jones Creek Brewing, 7 mi from Evey's Cafe & Pe Ell, 20 mi from I-5, 69 mi Westport Quiet hours are from 11pm - 8am.

Fishing does vary depending upon the time of year. Rainforest glade by the river

Rare river front with ancient temperate riparian rainforest with room for 1 sprinter/ camper van / truck under the tree canopy along the “soapstone run”on the Necanicum River 12 minutes drive from Cannon Beach or Seaside. The site is a few steps from the river that will have a river rock fire ring for camp fires on the gravel bar .My home is just west of the site but guests will have privacy . There are river otters , beavers, a resident herd of elk often on or along the lane to the property!, Barred owls, which are hooting as I write , deer, a pair of bald eagles that nest downstream and a diversity of other wildlife. We have a blueberry patch and 15 heirloom apple trees that guests will be welcome to pick fruit for their breakfast and lunches for hiking /biking adventures when in season . During spring / summer the soapstone run remains deep enough for swimming. I am a mostly, retired restoration ecologist with a place based knowledge of the north coast and will be happy to share “ locals only “ hikes and special experiences you won’t find on the internet for north coast exploration. My intention is to provide a no impact/ sustainable camping site near the beach that are not available elsewhere near CB and Seaside. It is a natural pad for your RV on river rock and wood chips as a base surrounded by native temperate rainforest just outside your door . Sea run trout use the “ soapstone run” from July through October and can be caught ( ideally on a fly rod ) at dawn and dusk with steelhead and salmon from October to March . It’s considered one of the very best steelhead runs on the Necanicum. There is a river cobble / gravel bar that is perfect for evening campfires only a few steps from the parking pad. It can accommodate RVs up to 24 feet to park in a forest glade setting just a few steps from the river . I live at the end of an easement road that will require campers to drive Slowly to the RV site. Campers will be provided some camp fire wood, there are no other amenities on the I look forward to sharing the special place we live and not well know hiking experiences and other activities with hipcampers .

Pleasant Places

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, and in order to keep the camp private, larger groups are given priority. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest for everyone. In camp you will find a rustic kitchen, two 6' picnic tables, and a fire pit with accessories. There is also a resource area where you will find an electrical outlet, a water hose, five gallon jugs, bundled firewood, fresh eggs/produce for sale, and a wagon to transport everything back to camp. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a play field (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, badminton set and lawn games. You'll enjoy communing with the farm animals, the goats are especially hands on and love the attention campers give them, while the chickens and ducks are mostly just fun to observe. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum--bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While there isn't water on the property, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes are all 20-30 minutes from here and provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Just five minutes down the road, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle getaway. offering up an area on our property for clean, friendly, quiet campers that want to get out of the city and enjoy some peace and quiet. We are located in Banks, Oregon. We are approximately 45 minutes west of downtown Portland. Our camping area is about 5 acres and offers something for everyone. If you have a large RV and need a safe and quiet spot to stay for the night, we got you. We have a large fire pit, Adirondak chairs, a large picnic table, and a swing set for the kids. Badminton and cornhole available on request. Family get-togethers or birthday parties are welcome! We are located just 1.5 miles from The Banks-Vernonia Trail. Bike campers are welcome! Feel free to bring along your 4-legged friends as well. We do not have a fence, so if you do not trust your dog of a leash, please keep them tied up. We have a lot of deer that pass through and untrained dogs love chasing them. Banks has a few restaurants to choose from: Subway, Dairy Queen, Main Street Pizza, Mary's Mexican Food, Hop-Cycle Brewing to name a few. There is also a Supermarket in town just in case you forgot your S'mores supplies, Spirits, or campfire wood. We are about 20 minutes away from McMenamins Grand Lodge, in Forest Grove, which hosts some great live concerts during the summer. We have a few fishing spots within about 30 minutes of the property. Hagg lake, Horning's Hideout, Dorman's Pond and the Wilson River are all popular spots. We have clean well water and 50A electrical hookups. We do not offer dumping of black water, but you can empty your tank at the Elks club in Forest Grove (25-minute drive) for free or Camping World over in Hillsboro. I don't mind if you drain your gray water on the property as long as you use a longer hose to keep it away from the immediate camping area. The parking area for RV's is fairly level and easy to get in and out of. During the late summer, our 5 apple trees produce great fruit. We also have 2 plum trees, and some blackberries. Feel free to pick what you would like. Currently, we do not have any public bathroom facilities available for campers, so please plan accordingly. Please, only book if you have an RV with working plumbing. **We will not accept tent campers** Please feel free to ask me any questions, we are willing to make accommodations for special situations/events if possible!
