Beautiful countryside. Enjoyed sitting by the fire. Checked out the Columbia River across the street. Would be nice to explore with a kayak. Host was quick to respond to questions.

Lisa and Brad were lovely hosts! Great communication before my visit. Huge space with a fire pit, hot shower, and composting toilet. I didn't spend much time there, so I didn't get to check out all the beauty of their space, but they were incredibly welcoming and hope to return.

I really enjoyed my stay. Brad and Lisa were welcoming and kind. There is a sandy beach with parking a couple minutes down the road, which my dog loved. Really appreciated the propane hot water heater. This is a gem of a place.

Slow Boat Farm
Slow Boat Farm was the perfect spot for an early season van camp! The camping field is spacious with a couple of nice clusters of trees, one of which my friend chose to pitch her tent in. Brad, Lisa and Holly are kind hosts who keep an amazing garden that they showed us. Puget Island gives you a back-in-time feel with farms, farm stands, sloughs with dock-built homes and endless bird watching. The migratory geese came in large waves throughout the day.

The site was clean and tucked away on Puget Island. Easy to access, quiet, with a friendly greeting from Brad, Lisa, and Holly. We encountered a bit of a wind/rain storm throughout our stay, but since the site was nice, it kept our spirits up and we found it to be adventurous.
I would highly recommend this site, and excited to come back when the weather is a little warmer and dry.

Brad and Lisa are amazing hosts and the spot is just perfect for a quiet getaway. We arrived after dark and it was a treat to wake up to see the cows next door. The propane shower is so refreshing and the composting toilet was clean and easy to use. Holly the dog is a sweetie pie.
Our only recommendations have nothing to do with Slow Boat and just our own lack of thorough packing. Bring waterproof shoes because the tall grass is dewy in the AM. And bring layers because the wind picks up a bit at times and it can be chilly at night.

Brad & Lisa were excellent! Our group was really happy with the space. The bathroom was clean and the area was absolutely beautiful. It was nice to be on grass rather than dirt. I would definitely recommend this spot.

We loved this site. Brad, Lisa, and Holly made us feel so welcome, and were so kind as to give us produce from their land. This is a beautiful, tranquil site with plenty of privacy. The shower was excellent also.

We really enjoyed staying at Slow Boat Farms. Really nice hosts, lots of space to roam. Beautiful green field to camp in and a nice fire pit. The island is quiet and that was the beauty of it…simple and relaxing.

My husband, two dogs and I had such a great time at this Hipcamp. Lisa, Holly, and Brad are wonderful hosts! Lisa met us when we arrived and gave us the run down and some helpful tips for our stay. We enjoyed seeing and listening to all of the wildlife around (without it being overwhelming), exploring, and relaxing in the open space. The grass was nice and cool and there was both plenty of sun and plenty of shade for the pups. The facilities were well maintained and clean. I loved the heated shower! Lisa and Brad made our stay private and comfortable while also being available for any of our needs. They were especially accommodating to our dogs needing a slower introduction to Holly, which turned out great as they loved her company. I highly recommend this spot-we will definitely be back.

Genuinely could not recommend this place more. Such a huge field with great scenery, peace, and nature- the perfect place to camp.
Lisa was a wonderful host- she welcomed us to the property, gave us a tour, and made us feel so welcomed.
I’m fairly new to camping, but this was overall a wonderful experience.

We loved staying at this campsite, it was our first Hipcamp experience and they communicated well the whole time. They have a lovely space to camp, the amenities of a bathroom, shower, and campfire made the stay even better, we definitely recommend!

Lovely and peaceful basecamp to escape the city! Brought along a 3 year old and she loved running around the field and watching the cows 😍 Two mile drive up the road is a nice beach on the river for swimming or boating-
The composting toilet and propane shower were so well devised and maintained👍👍Much appreciated! Thank you for great visit!

Brad & Lisa were exceptional hosts, who were very friendly and accommodating! The property was stunning, with lots of space and nicely mowed grass to pitch a tent, and no bugs! We highly recommend and would definitely go back. Also, Holly the dog was great.

Wow, what a fabulous spot! Brad and Lisa were there to greet us and show us how to use the hot shower (which was so lovely after a long day on the road!). It was so peaceful, and we really enjoyed watching the blue herons fly in at sunset. Our pup loved frolicking with their pup and especially loved the wide-open field to get his zoomies out. We would definitely stay again!

Amazing campsite!! Camped there for the first night of a road trip and hosts were very friendly and showed us the site. The site includes a bathroom and shower house, a picnic table, and a fire pit! There is plenty of space and we ended up pitching our tent underneath some trees as the hosts recommended because it was windy. Overall great experience and would definitely go there again!

This is a really special place if you like simple, pastoral settings with a minimum of clutter and "stuff". There is a very nice hot shower provided by an instant hot water heater and the compost toilet was totally acceptable and clean. We had a picnic table and access to freshwater nearby, what else would one need when sleeping under the stars on a summer evening? We woke to birdsong and a bit of fog.

Brad, Lisa, and Holly were great hosts with clear communication. This is one of the best deals I’ve found on Hipcamp. Unlike many other hipcamps, which will try to squeeze multiple groups on top of one another, Brad and Lisa only accept one group at a time. Accordingly, you have the entire place to yourself, and it feels very private. There a shady area to set up tents as well as a large open field with a fire ring. PUGET Island is idyllic, and I recommend visiting the nearby wildlife reserve. I look forward to visiting again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Slow Boat Farm! The pasture setting was beautiful, such a nice environment to relax it. Brad greeted us and gave us an overview. Lisa came out latter to say hello, we really liked meeting our hosts and having a short chat, we had the sense they were there if we needed anything, but still had privacy of an entire pasture. It was nice to have a (compost) toilet and hot shower available, in a cute outbuilding, complete with fresh flowers. Would definitely recommend it and stay again if we’re ever in the area.

First time using HipCamp and great experience overall! We brought a small tear drop camper and there was plenty of room. The landscape was beautiful and so peaceful/ quiet in the morning. Brad and Lisa were lovely, and had excellent recommendations for things to do in the area.

Brad and Lisa were super kind in accommodating my daughter and me at the last moment. Their farmland was impeccably tidy, with fresh-cut flowers in the toilet room, freshly mowed grass, and a clean picnic table for our use. We loved exploring the areas they suggested for fun water access and enjoyed several hours splashing in the cool Columbia River and watching the barges go by. We had a beach spot all to ourselves (within a mile of their property).
Brad delivered a bag of farm-fresh apples, garlic, and onion upon our departure. It was the perfect, quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of Portland.
