When I first stepped foot on this property I literally fell to my knees in awe of the beauty. There were many offers on it but I had to have it so I offered well over asking price. It has been an adventure making it my own over the past 4 years. I even got a pet pig - Alice! I love sharing this beautiful piece of land with other nature lovers. It's rare to have property of this size with this beauty in a Chicago suburb. You feel like you're out in the middle of the woods yet if you drive 5 minutes to Randall road there's any restaurant or store you could ever need. I look forward to sharing this space with you!Relax by the creek listening to the flowing water or take a dip in it on a hot day! The property is surrounded by large mature trees and has a big open field in the middle and a creek running through it. There is a large firepit with adirondack chairs for bonfires. The firepit is closer to the house but still fairly private. If requested in advance I can provide a firepit table and a charcoal grill that you can keep closer to your campsite. There is also a deck off to the side, close to the parking spot, with a table and 5 chairs.  Lots of wildlife comes through- deer, beautiful birds of all kinds, hawks, owls, frogs, squirrels, chipmunks, fox and more! I keep my grass short and try my best to keep up with the weeds, but I do not use any chemicals or fertilizers whatsoever.  There are quite a few forest preserves and trails nearby for hiking or biking. Driving through the neighborhood you might see horses, chickens, and a peacock. This property feels like you are in the middle of the woods but if you drive 5 minutes to Randall Rd. there is pretty much any restaurant or store you could ever want.  Pets are welcome. The property is not fenced so pets will need to be leashed or well-trained not to run off onto the neighbor's properties. I have a mini-pig who lives indoors but loves to spend nice days outside in her fenced area by the barn. If you see her outside feel free to say hi or let me know if you'd like to meet her and I can try to make sure she gets out there. I have a very large driveway that can easily fit an RV/camper. Or you can park on the grassy area at the entrance to the beautiful backyard. It really is a gorgeous slice of nature that I am excited to share with other nature-lovers. ~NEIGHBORHOOD RECOMMENDATIONS~ HIKING: •Blackhawk County Forest Preserve (small waterfall) •Tekakwitha Forest Preserve •Fitchie Creek Forest Preserve •Hawthorne Hill Nature Center •Burnidge Forest Preserve •Otter Creek Forest Preserve •Starved Rock/Matthiessen State Park (1.5 hr drive) FUN DINING ATMOSPHERE: •Village Squire, South Elgin (live music on weekends) •Old Republic, Elgin (live music on weekends) •Nick's Pizza & Pub, Elgin (rustic lodgelike) CHICAGO CLASSICS: •Lou Malnati's, Elgin (deep dish pizza) •Giordano's, South Elgin (deep dish pizza) •Portillo's, Elgin FUN ACTIVITIES: •Marcus Cinema, Elgin •Grand Victoria Casino, Elgin •Epic Air Trampoline Park, South Elgin •Arcada Theater, St. Charles (live shows) & Club Arcada (speakeasy and restaurant) •Rookies, Elgin or St. Charles - have free bingo nights and cruise nights with classic cars on different weekdays •Kane County Fairgrounds, St. Charles (fairs/markets/events) •Santa's Village Azoosment Park, East Dundee •Historic Corron Farm, St. Charles •Koi Whisperer Sanctuary, St. Charles - aquaculture design - learn how to grow for sustainable living (check groupon for deal) •Pottawatomie Park, St. Charles - mini golf, rent paddleboats/kayaks, movies in the park, pool etc. •EvenFlow, Geneva - live music •Improv Comedy Club, Schaumburg •Downtown St. Charles and Downtown Geneva are also nearby and have a lot of boutique shopping (Ghoulish Mortals, Antique Market, etc) and very nice dining options, some along the Fox River as well.
