When I first stepped foot on this property I literally fell to my knees in awe of the beauty. There were many offers on it but I had to have it so I offered well over asking price. It has been an adventure making it my own over the past 4 years. I even got a pet pig - Alice! I love sharing this beautiful piece of land with other nature lovers. It's rare to have property of this size with this beauty in a Chicago suburb. You feel like you're out in the middle of the woods yet if you drive 5 minutes to Randall road there's any restaurant or store you could ever need. I look forward to sharing this space with you!Relax by the creek listening to the flowing water or take a dip in it on a hot day! The property is surrounded by large mature trees and has a big open field in the middle and a creek running through it. There is a large firepit with adirondack chairs for bonfires. The firepit is closer to the house but still fairly private. If requested in advance I can provide a firepit table and a charcoal grill that you can keep closer to your campsite. There is also a deck off to the side, close to the parking spot, with a table and 5 chairs. Lots of wildlife comes through- deer, beautiful birds of all kinds, hawks, owls, frogs, squirrels, chipmunks, fox and more! I keep my grass short and try my best to keep up with the weeds, but I do not use any chemicals or fertilizers whatsoever. There are quite a few forest preserves and trails nearby for hiking or biking. Driving through the neighborhood you might see horses, chickens, and a peacock. This property feels like you are in the middle of the woods but if you drive 5 minutes to Randall Rd. there is pretty much any restaurant or store you could ever want. Pets are welcome. The property is not fenced so pets will need to be leashed or well-trained not to run off onto the neighbor's properties. I have a mini-pig who lives indoors but loves to spend nice days outside in her fenced area by the barn. If you see her outside feel free to say hi or let me know if you'd like to meet her and I can try to make sure she gets out there. I have a very large driveway that can easily fit an RV/camper. Or you can park on the grassy area at the entrance to the beautiful backyard. Kristen’s land was the perfect place to park while visiting family in the area over Thanksgiving! The state parks are closed to camping this time of year, and the RV parks in the area are not highly rated. But Kristen’s place is conveniently located to Elgin, Geneva and St. Charles, yet feels like you’re in the countryside! The river was flowing, the yard is spacious, the driveway is level and Kristen was so sweet and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Kristen’s property was idyllic and I am so grateful I booked here for two nights. I loved the sound of the creek and the birds. There were wildflowers and big trees and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to rest while I was visiting. Kristen met me at arrival and showed me around the property which was a kind and unexpected gesture.

Very nice host! Nice property , a great place for tenters . Basically a driveway parking spot for a trailer or motor home. Good spot for an overnight. Quiet spot.

No problem setting up a tent; there were many flat sites to choose from. Lots of trees around the perimeter of the yard. The grass was short with clover and bees around to watch. There was a table-top fire pit that worked out really well for the two of us. I was able to get a 10" Dutch oven over the fire without any problems. We were able to find quite a few sticks on the property for fire kindling. The Jewel off of Randall (a very short drive away) had firewood bundles for sale. The indoor bathroom was very helpful and we appreciated being able to use it. On-site garbage available as well. The creek was a great time. The water was ice cold but very refreshing during the heat of the day. Behind her property, the creek isn't that deep but if you keep walking, you'll find some deeper spots. Don't forget to bring a clothesline to hang clothes from to dry. There are trees perfectly suited for this. Also did some geocaching around the area as well. We did not need to take advantage of the very large fire pit. It would be absolutely ideal for larger parties. There were chairs around the pit as well. The whole back property had solar powered lights that provided just enough light to light your way to the house but definitely left it very dark to enjoy the fireflies and bats. (At least I think they were bats.) Kristen, the host, kept in contact before our arrival, showed us around and then left us to our own fun. She was responsive to messages during our stay.

We had a great night camping here! The host was quick to respond and showed us around her property when we arrived. We really enjoyed the privacy—our kids could run around in the yard, play in the creek and have fun without any issues. While still pretty close to modern conveniences (ie: food and stores) the property has a fairly isolated feeling. Would definitely stay there again.

We had an amazing time on Kristen’s land. It was beautiful, there was plenty of privacy, and she was a great host who made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. A short walk to the creek was a major highlight for us as well as our dog. Kristen had a fire pit ready for us next to our creek side camp site, and even with light showers we had a blast. Highly recommended, we look forward to visiting again!

Perfect in our small motorhome to relax after 500 miles and prep to get east around Chicago and 650 miles next day Early. Quiet, safe, nice hostess and easy on and off. I like this Hipcamp thing so much I will be up and running with my 15 acres in Maine by July. Probably no more campgrounds.

We stayed at Kristen's for a weekend and had a wonderful time. She lives in a wooded residential area. We were able to park in her large driveway and walk 1-2 min to where we decided to setup camp right by the creek. Her yard is really large and well kept. We were happy to have access to her bathroom through her walk out basement but still felt we had plenty of privacy. Also, Kristen's communication was super consistent and helpful. This spot is awesome and a great value. Highly recommend! We will be back!
