Fire pit is down by the river not at your campsite. It’s down an extremely dangerous slope to get to.

Cute little spot with the river down below. It is RIGHT off the highway but quits down nicely at night. Hook ups were great!

Beautiful area and wonderful river bank site. If you want easy river access then this is great. Two things to be aware of when deciding if it is the place for you. The upper section of the site (where we put our tent) is right next to the highway which has a lot of traffic going 55+ miles per hr. The traffic is also loud. If you dont mind traffic sounds then this is a great site for you. If you want a quiet peaceful setting then I would look elsewhere because the traffic sounds are continuous. The traffic is steadily loud until about 1-2pm. Also, the water spout is great for cleaning but is very sulfur smelling and tasting. It had too much sulfur taste for us so we picked up drinking water down the road at the gas station.

Spot near the water is great. Various places to explore.
BUT literally right off a super busy road… traffic is loud! Didn’t go camping to hear traffic noise on and off all night. Not safe for dogs off leash due to close to the road and a neighbor house right next door

We really enjoyed a slice of heaven on Ed and Erika‘s Rio Grande River Bank site. The river is truly beautiful here, and we were lucky enough to even see a beaver. There’s ample space to park an RV, and nicely landscaped rock steps take you down to a grassy area on the riverbank of the Rio Grande. You can easily set up here with camp chairs, your kitchen table, even a tent. As others have noted, the highway noise is definitely a factor. It recedes later at night, but if highway noise bothers you… We had the good fortune of meeting Ed, and he was super accommodating and friendly. We would love to stay here again.

This is a very convenient place to camp if you are looking to pull to the side of the road and spend the night. It is easy to find and right between Taos and Santa Fe. If you are in a trailer be mindful that there isn’t much room to turn around - we have a F150 and a 20 ft trailer and it was a tight squeeze. Also, the pad for trailers is right off the road - so you will be hearing traffic at a pretty close range - it dies down at night but people still seemed to be speeding by at all hours. If you have a tent you can go down to the bank of the river which feels more secluded and is probably a better bet. There is a nice beach-y area where we set up chairs and did some fishing - you could probably swim there as well. There is a free antique Gas Station museum less than 5 min up the road - that was an interesting find and a good side quest. The site itself is very clean and well maintained. Really the biggest thing to note is proximity to the road, but you also have proximity to the river :) very convenient location and a good place to spend a night while traveling.

Great location for exploring area (and numerous wineries). Easy to find once you know what you’re looking for (look for HipCamp flag next to road). Place is probably better for tents since that space is away from the road and right next to the river. The spot for an RV (or our rooftop tent) is right off the road and a bit noisy. Didn’t have any problems sleeping though.

Amazing slice of paradise right off the road and right next to the river. Great place to stay for the night passing thru on a road trip. Some traffic noise but it died down as night went on. Fun trails to explore along the river. Thx for a great stay!

It was a great stop through New Mexico on our way across the US!! Such a beautiful spot that overlooks a river and is perfect for fishing or just relaxing. Easy to find and spacious!!

It’s a nice setting with amenities like power and a beautiful view. However, the area for the RV is very close to the highway and so it’s very noisy. I’d rather stay in a quiet state park in New Mexico for a lot less money.

Sadly this location is not marked well at all, but the owner was very helpful in finally getting me situated. This was a beautiful mountain pass stop, but unless you are in shape to go up and down to the actual riverside area below, it's just kind of windy and road loud.

What a beautiful bend in the river! There is even a beaver dam on the other side. I felt safe, there were solar lights and the fire pit was perfect. I left a citronella candle for the next guest, I didn’t have bugs but it is nice for ambiance. ✨

You have to see it to believe it. So unassuming from the road and it feels private. You are right on the river and the view in both directions is fabulous!!! Would definitely come back. I actually didn’t realize New Mexico was so beautiful until I drove through it. Hidden gem.

The directions were spot on for the site, we did miss it and have to turn around. Full disclaimer: it was nighttime is and we were putting our camp together in the dark. The AM views were beautiful, the river was incredible, and I'd do this site again in a second.

Me and my son had an amazing weekend at this campsite. Right on the river and the view couldn't be beat. If traveling North it is Exactly 4.6 miles from Mike's Mini Mart (look for a turquoise mailbox and it is the next left). Do yourself a favor and book this site

We loved this little campsite on the river. There were some very nice touches and it had everything we needed. Loved being able to charge our Tesla there. Ed came and checked on us and offered some recommendations for the Taos area.

Our hosts Ed and Erika were very friendly and super helpful. They provide extra assistance when needed and even provided wood for the fire pit that is located a little down the bank closer to the river. The spot is actually located right on the Rio Grande River and the views are beautiful. Erika also showed us a really neat hiking trail that goes under the road and comes up on the other side where you can hike through the mountainside. The site is equipped with 50 amp and 15 amp power and a water hookup. There are some landscape lights and even some fake fire lights to accent the spot. The site is mostly rock, gravel and dirt and I definitely recommend smaller rigs because of the smaller size of the site. The site is located right off the road but the traffic noise is very light late at night. Great hosts, beautiful site.

Wonderful and so unique! We stayed in late December in our teardrop trailer. It had everything we needed- water, electric (it was 50 amp, but it looked like there was possible 15 or 20 amp as well), and the views were unbeatable.
Erika provided top notch service by being responsive to our question, and even set up camping chairs and a fire pit for us right on the river. We loved it!
