Had a great time on Dwayne’s land. He met us after dark to get us to our site which was nice. There was plenty to do there plus enough within 20 minutes to adventure out. Very scenic land. Dwayne is a personable person and we’ll be seeing him again

We had a wonderful experience here! Dwayne was a very accommodating host and even built/started our fire for us on our first night arriving! Beautiful property with lots of cool spots to hike around. Definitely want to come back next summer and try out the swim hole!

Dwayne’s ranch is a cozy, little spot to camp out, away from the hustle and bustle of a town. We chose this place as it’s a quick 15 minute drive to Watkins glen and must say it turned out to be a wonderful choice. Dwayne is an amazing host, always willing to answer any questions. He helped us with an abundant supply of firewood for the camp fire. There’s a trading post very close by to the ranch entrance, from where you could get food, groceries, and beer.
Would definitely recommend Tempest ranch and would come back here again ✌️

Folks like Dwayne and Tina are the reason we love Hipcamping. They care about their property, and their campers, and the Tempest Ranch was perfect for our three-day stay. We almost stayed longer even in the rain! The Sugar Hill State Forest was also a gem. Peaceful, lots of trails and 4x4 roads, and we felt alone whenever we ventured into the forest. Just what we wanted.
Thanks Dwayne and Tina - see you next year we hope.

This place was so cool, Dwayne was awesome and such a nice host. Beautiful trails around, farm animals, little creek. I would definitely recommend a trip here and plan to come back myself.

We were in search of a nice private camp ground to camp with our little girl. We had never been to Watkins Glen and found Dwayne's Ranch. It was absolutely beautiful! Clean rest room, Clean forest. Quiet! Exactly what we needed. We loved walking around and petting the Horses and Full. It was so nice having firewood ready for us. Dwayne stoped by to make sure we had what we needed and you can tell he enjoys his ranch and wants to share it with others. I would feel comfortable bringing my daughter her bymyself. At night we watched shooting stars over our fire and it was so calm and quiet.
Thank you for having us, We will definitely be back.

We loved camping on Dwayne’s land! He was a great host. We went on the hikes/walks he recommended and he was super helpful with firewood. His dogs are adorable too. Would definitely return!

Dwayne met us when we arrived & showed us different areas where we could set up our camp. We were thrilled with the area we chose & also with the amazing views. The horses and donkeys are adorable. He suggested some awesome places to explore in the area & we saw some beautiful sights thanks to him. We had a wonderful time camping on Dwayne’s beautiful land! We would highly recommend it!

We had a great time at Tempest Ranch! Communication with Dwayne was great - he made sure his son was there to greet us at the entrance and led us to our campsite. We had a camper van and booked a dispersed camping site which felt private, was well stocked with plenty of firewood, and was a lovely spot by the pines. We only stayed one night so didn't get a chance to explore too much but the property is beautiful and has lots of space to roam around. Definitely recommend for a peaceful, fun camping experience!

Dwayne had a beautiful property with lots of unique features! We ended up picking a tent camping spot back in the pine woods and it was perfect. He came to check on us and said we were allowed to explore his 40 acres of land. We even got to pet his donkeys! We would definitely stay here again.

Dwayne’s little slice of heaven was amazing!
He met us (me and my hubby) as we pulled in, in the dark, helped us pick a great spot and even got a fire going for us! He was very hospitable. We stayed from Thur-Sun and we were right by the pines! The area was beautiful, even though we had no sun and some rain we enjoyed the hiking, amazing views and his property, the thick evening fog was cool, made it mysterious, we were even able to do some “off roading” in our Jeep (Beast Mode) on the attached state property trails, we hiked for miles and it was great! The evenings were peaceful and relaxing, and Dwayne made sure we had plenty of wood through our stay, we saw some wild life including deer, snakes, bats. We had plenty of privacy. There is no service so make sure to bring other means for music as we brought a small battery run radio which worked good, We will definitely be back with the whole family next year Thank you Dwayne for sharing your amazing property with us!! And for coming over Sunday to say fair well!!

Best camping experience I’ve ever had. Beautiful place, with very friendly owners. The sites are more private than a state park camping site which was really nice. I would 100% recommend this place.

I would recommend Dwayne’s land to anyone! Very peaceful area, fire pits included, and multiple spots to set up. There are plenty of things to see nearby, and down the road there is a store with everything you need. Dwayne was very helpful and communicative. If you love Donkeys, Horses, or Dogs he’s got it all! Very friendly people. We enjoyed our stay.

My 16-year-old son and I had a great time staying at Tempest Ranch. The land is beautiful, especially the meadows and pasture that lead up to the state forest. Dwayne was incredibly accommodating and friendly and really helped make sure we had a great stay. I would say this is a great option for anyone interested in dispersed camping on a well maintained property in the finger lakes region.

I loved the simplicity, beauty, and space of Dwayne's tipi. Though it drizzled almost the entire visit, Dwayne was very conscientious and put the extra effort into helping us enjoy a campfire in the wet environment. He also spent time learning what we'd like to do during our stay and provided ample ideas, which we appreciated.

Truly a great place to unwind & relax. Dwayne has an amazing property with campsites that are spread out enough to give everyone privacy. You don’t have to leave the property at all & you can still get a lot of exploring & activities in. The fire ring (with a sliding grate) & picnic tables are always a plus- but to make it better Dwayne has fresh chopped wood for you at a super fair price! He also had a dry bundle ready for us in the pit & there’s a lot of dead wood laying around as well. We tent camped in the pine tree grove & it was like being in another world! Other campers were around but far enough away to where you barely notice them. It rained 70% of our “guys trip” including a thunderstorm the last night- but it didn’t ruin our trip at all. We went kayaking at Lamoka & Waneta Lakes- it was amazing! About 15 minutes away to get to the public launch. Dwayne has a swimming hole, running creek, & a large fish pond on the property to check out! We even had a hiking trail two minutes from our spot that runs along the creek & another towards the back of the property. (You can see them on the map)! We explored the farm & the animals were all so friendly. I loved petting the donkeys & horses. We will definitely be coming back again with our wives & my pupper- dwayne is constantly updating his land & you can see the progress all around. He answers promptly & is so friendly. If you’re like me you’ll love to see all the birds, frogs, deer, guppies, fish & so many mushrooms.

What a lovely spot! Dwayne was a fantastic host and the campsites had everything we needed. Dwayne clearly cares about his land and curating a great spot to stay. We stayed in the spruce grove, walked the land and said hello to the donkeys, had a lovely fire built by Dwayne, and watched the meteor shower with little to no light pollution. Situated between Keuka and Seneca lakes, we weren’t far from various finger lakes attractions as well,
Both my friend and I mentioned how we can’t wait to come back. Thank you Tempest Ranch!

Third time staying with Dwayne, and as always, an amazing host! It's a fantastic spot, quite accessible, easy to level, but more, just so peaceful and quiet. I'm sure we'll be back again next season.

The area is well kept, so lush and taken care of. However, the sites are too close and not everyone respects quiet time. The loud music was well into 1 am almost 2. One car speeding so close to our tent and skidded! The people in charge, Mike and Laurie were very friendly and checked on us during the day. We stayed one night only.

Host was awesome
Setting and camp site where amazing saw lots of different wildlife. The teepee was really cool to stay in even with a night of rain. The stream was very low due to drought but was still very cool to explore.
If you like to hike you can walk right out of the teepee and a short walk to sugar hill state forest trail system.

Dwayne was the best host you could ask for. My friends and I were celebrating getting our PhD's by playing games in the woods and camping on his beautiful property. We were a large group of people, and Dwayne hooked us up with a massive site that was private so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. He was extremely friendly and happy to explain his future projects, and afterwards, he left us to be at our sites by ourselves which was nice. A fun added tidbit is he has many cute animals (dogs, horses and donkeys) at his farm that are a just a walk away from the sites. If you're looking for a peaceful night in the finger lakes, look no further! The tempest ranch is the place to go.

This is the perfect spot for families and kids that like to explore! We had the campsite to ourselves and the kids loved the swimming hole. The bathroom was super close by and extremely clean. Plus Dwayne made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!!

We loved staying in the tipi! The views are beautiful and there is no sound/light pollution. It is very close to walkins glen and Seneca lake, which was a fun day trip! Just plan for no cell service.
