Weekend Trip to Glamping Tent Overlooking Waterfall

My fiance and I had a lovely experience. The sound of the stream next to the camper was very relaxing, and the ambience was thoughtful and charming. I took a bath on the porch, and it was the best bath ever! The spot is secluded, and very private. Curtains on the tub for privacy, but it still feels amazing to take a hot bath and take in the calming sounds of nature. There were more amenities than I had expected (kitchen ware, towels). The camper is comfortable and quaint. Sam, the host, was very attentive and communicative. The property is well cared for. There are hiking trails nearby, and a lake for kayaking/canoeing. I Definitely recommend!

Absolutely stunning location. A true gem and had quite the adventure. The GPS did in fact take us to the wrong locations (Google maps), so if you enter q junkyard at any point, turn back and read her instructions instead.

We had a great stay here. Very scenic and well maintained. Sam supplied a charcoal grill and portable stove, but we used our own so I cannot attest to their functionality! The space heater came in handy, as did the complimentary firewood when we ran out of our own! The mineral tub was a bonus as well. The downside- you’re not going to get the privacy you might expect at a campsite. There are cars coming by all hours of the day (even 1030 at night) and delivery trucks. Of course not a deal breaker but good to know!

The most amazing campsites and cabin. I think site 2 is the best campsite I've ever seen hands down. We stayed in the cabin it was fantastic greeted by white tail deer in the morning . Next to a creek.The waterfall must be seen in person photos don't do it justice.

Loved it! The small trek to waterfalls was a little challenging while it was raining but totally worth it. The cabin seemed to be quite new as well. Some other reviews mentioned they could hear vehicles passing by the Fulton road. I did not hear a thing during my stay and the campfire setup was also nice. Would totally visit again!

Weekend Trip to Glamping Tent Overlooking Waterfall

Me and my wife stayed at Sam’s Glamping tent and it went phenomenal. The view was beautiful and the tent was super spacious, the entire vibe of the campsite was great. We felt welcomed and any issue we had was solved by our host. The campsite came with a lot of amenities that was nice to have like a propane cooktop, a cooktop for the fire pit, aswell as silverware and a pan, Another thing to note is the bathrooms and campsite in general was very well contained and clean. There is also a yeti cooler on site which is a very large cooler and was super helpful in keeping our food fresh and bugs out. The hot tub was large enough to comfortably fit 2 people and got super hot, the hot tub was also overlooking the waterfall. Sam was great, anytime any unexpected issue arose for us he went out of his way to help as much as he could, I would definitely recommend the camp site and and definitely the host he was a super down to earth guy. We had a great time and definitely will come back sometime soon. I rate the whole trip a 5/5 with everything involved.

Super cozy site with just about everything you would need provided (minus food and drink). Having a cup of coffee early in the morning while soaking in a hot bath listening to the stream and birds is absolute heaven. A+ experience. The site is a bit close to the road but there was little to no traffic so it wasn't an issue at all. If you're looking for total seclusion you might be a little disappointed but if you're looking for a super convenient, very comfortable and well thought out site you will be very pleased. Sam couldn't have been a better host. Was extremely communicative and I have no doubt he would have happily helped with any requests we may have had.

We love visiting the homestead. I think this was our 7th trip. My 3yr old daughter put it best, "Mommy, why does it feel like we are home when we are not home". She's 100% correct, Ziegenvine Homestead is our home a way from home. The Cabin was ready for us upon arrival. We visited the new piglets, goats, and chickens every day we were there. The bunk beds are perfect for little ones, we appreciate the safety of the guard rail. The bonus at the end of the trip with the warm brownies that Allison shared with us. We are already looking forward to coming back!

lovely stay- the cabin was warm & cozy. they really thought of every little thing to make the stay as comfortable as possible. you do have to park up the hill & carry your things down but it’s not a huge or long walk. the showers are camp bag showers, I do recommend bringing your own if you have one & some straps to hang it. the waterfall is stunning & ther is a lot of good day hikes around.

We had a great stay at the wildflower cabin for our family of four with two boys, aged 9 and 13. The cabin is adorable. Although it was cold for April, the space heater in the cabin worked well. We really enjoyed the waterfall nearby but couldn’t find a path across and had to wade through the freezing water- the kids loved it at least! We also had a great hike on the Vroman’s nose loop nearby. Overall, a great stay.

What a magical place. We decided to book a trip for our son’s 5th birthday and the site was everything a little boy dreams of. From the bunk beds with true tree limbs to the hidden beds above the kitchen area- it was perfect! It is certainly thought out and a lot of love was put into the building process. Jeremy was great with supplying firewood and amble cooking equipment which made it easy to not have to leave for anything extra one may need. Highly recommend paying a visit!

The heated bunkhouse has 2 twin mattresses in the loft, and several blankets and pillows, but you need to BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS and pillow CASES as you wish. Firewood is $5 per fire, starters materials included, marshmallows are in the end table drawer! You can select the campfire wood option here or pay in cash in the cabin. Bring your own fire wood and pay nothing. If you need any help starting a fire, we can do that. We have a sweet fluffy orange cat who roams the property. His name is kitty kitty :) He's fearful of dogs, and is wary of visitors since they might be harboring one! If you have a pup with you, please keep them leashed at least around the main house and cabin. We are also have a very sweet dog, Beya-- ( Bay-yuh). She is the nicest person you'd hope to meet. She may bark a little the first time you come in to use the bathroom but she's just letting us know you have arrived- and will be very happy to have you greet her. She doesn't jump up, growl, or have any negative behavior with people . There isn't a shower included in the stay unless you are here for multiple days and have spoken with us about it...but you can definitely wash up with hot water and soap, in the half bath --hand towel provided as needed. This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond or artesian spring fed pool. The land consists of 14 acres of forest and open space, with a beautiful creek and several small ponds. After mid-July, we have a huge organic garden where guests can "U-Pick" garden fresh produce, as available (for sale at our farmstand). Sacred Waterfall & Quiet Retreat

NOTE: THIS IS A QUIET AREA for reconnecting with nature. Not suitable for parties or loud groups. For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty and power. It is considered a sacred site that has been central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka, also known as the Mohawks, Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, Kahonrakén:ra Waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into a hidden pool, which then empties again into the river, running into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. The effect is transporting. Truly, it is one of those extraordinarily beautiful spots on earth that makes you feel like you are in another world. There are two tiny cabins on the property. Both sites have extra space to set up a tent if needed. The Forest Cabin is insulated with hemp, has electric lights and outlets, is bigger inside with a work desk, Anderson crank out windows, a bigger deck, and two twin mattresses under the bed if you need them. The Wildflower Cabin is a bit deeper in the forest, a little smaller, uninsulated with two walls of old-school wood-pane windows that open out to the forest completely, one twin mattress under the bed and a powerstrip for light electric use. Both sites have private fire pits, solar shower stalls, fans for cooling and an electric heater for chilly nights. It's a 10 minute hike down the gorge to the waterfall from the campsites. Each campsite has a private path down to the waterfall, where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire at your fire pit and fall asleep under the stars listening to the waterfall and the river below. Be aware that the hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Please be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and to keep noise down after 10pm to chillax and enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside that makes Schoharie so special. In the big red barn at the entrance to the campsites there is a community room with a charging station, cold water sink, mini fridge, coffee maker, grills, and a port-a-potty for your use. There are also 5 gallon solar shower bags that you can use at your campsite. You are responsible for filling them and putting them in the sun to heat the water. :) This is a leave no trace site. Please take all your trash with you when you leave. And please bring your own biodegradable soap for dishes and toilet paper for the port-a-potty! Firewood is available onsite for $1 per log. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms with fresh produce and organic meat within 5 miles of the house. There are several farm stands and a general store a few miles away, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, and the Sap Bush Country Store and Café just up the hill in West Fulton. Mustang Valley, a wild mustang sanctuary and rescue center, is just down the road. Nearby hikes include Looking Glass Pond and Vroman's Nose, among many others.

About the Trials Riding: We host 6 Mototrial events each season (see below) and if spectating appeals, you can plan your trip to coincide. You're in for a treat if you've never seen these nimble motorcycles do their 'thing'... up, over, and around the obstacles. Events are busy and exciting, but no worries (!) trials bikes are not loud and riders are friendly and considerate. If spectating is not your thing- no worries either. Non-event days are very laid back. On any given day if Trials riders come here (just to practice or instruction with Mike) it's not loud or invasive, nor interferes with any camper training or playing on the course. When riders are here (barring events), it is typically only 2-4 riders at a time. Multiple activities co-exist quite nicely here as there is plenty of room for all.
