We are located in the heart of Antelope, a rural (near) Ghost town that is rich in history and culture. This particular property is currently being cleaned up and revitalized. We would like to open it up to dry camping only at this time as we are already seeing a huge influx of cyclists and motorcycles in the area and they have no place to camp. This is dry camping only until the facilities are improved. There is porta potty onsite next to the old Rajneesh bath house (Red and white building). In the image any spot that you can find in the near 2 acres of grass highlighted in orange is the designated areas.

Welcome to Antelope RV Park and tent camping. We are new owners and currently revitalizing the property. We want to be open if tourist, cyclists, random scenic byway travelers….do want to stay a night they are welcome to dry camp at this point. Eventually we will have full services. A portable toilet is available and running water. The camp has lots of signage and is located on the corner of Union and Main Street in the heart of Antelope. You cannot miss the location. Please see photos attached and look for the red Adirondack chairs to stop and relax at. We also have an honor system refrigerated with cold drinks and popsicles available.

Antelope RV Park can accommodate up to three partial-hookup spaces with 30 amp power and water. Camp rules require that all RV provide ample power cords to connect and that hoses to the water are secure. The location for this hookup site is level.

A-Frame cabin is approximately 168 square feet with two twin beds, a chair, a mini refrigerator, coffee maker, bottle water, end table, books, linens. Also has heating and cooling, garbage onsite, and portable toilet. There is currently no running water due to winterization at the park, however the cabins will have plenty of furnished water supply. The park is in midst of construction and this is a work in progress property. We sincerely appreciate you working with us while we continue to remodel the remaining cabins and finishing the bathhouse and other buildings. We have had high demand to get a cabin ready for occupancy and we are doing this early to accommodate those requests.

What a welcome oasis in the desert! So impressive to see this new development in the area. The setting is in beginning stages with showers coming soon. The cabins were comfy and clean. Loved the stay, easy to book, owners responded quickly!

The A frames are really simple, but a great option. Once the permanent bathroom opens, it'll be even nicer. Ran into the owner on the way out and she was super nice. We stayed one night before a trip down the John Day - plenty of room to park the car and trailer.

Great little A-frame! Power, heat, and two mattresses (BYO sleeping bag and pillow) far better than an inflatable sleeping pad. Nice covered area I used to cook in my camp stove and eat dinner, honor (Venmo or cash) fridge with sodas and a few other little treats. Port-a-potties had a real sink with soap and a mirror adjacent. I’d def recommend for overnight accommodations bikepacking the Oregon Outback.

Nice cabin in a nice setting. Brandi was very helpful and welcoming. Perfect location for our meet-up prior to rafting the John Day. Parking our cars during our trip and charging our EV where bonuses.

We had a great experience at the Hipcamp in Antelope. It was an ideal place to start and end our 3-day Bikepacking loop out to the Jon Day River. Camp host, Mark, was super friendly and even cycled a bit with us when we headed out of town. Upon returning, the fridge full of cold drinks was perfection. Excited to see how the property develops, including the A-Frame shelters that will make it a four-season destination. There is so much beauty in this part of the state, and Atelope is a worthwhile place to rest your head whilst adventuring :)

Antelope is a quiet small village with a lot of history starting in the late 1800s. It is surrounded by rolling high desert hills clothed in golden grasses making it a beautiful place to stop and relax. There is plenty of good camping sites to choose from and it will only get better as the hosts have taken steps to offer lots of upgrades in the near future. Glad I stayed here and would stay again.

Oasis in the Outback!

I love what Brandie and Larry are creating in Antelope! Antelope is a stop along the Oregon Outback bikepacking route. In this part of the state, there is not a lot of public land and very few camping options, so it's awesome they are creating this oasis for all kinds of travelers as well as trying to stimulate their local economy. Currently, the site consists of a large, well maintained, grassy lot with many mature shade trees. It feels like a park! You can camp where you want in the park. They have also provided a couple tables with umbrellas, lounge chairs, clean porta-potties, potable water and a large sink, and an honor fridge with bottled water, sodas, and candy. Brandie met us at camp and showed us around, telling us about future plans for the property, which will include a dozen small cabins, a bathroom/shower/laundry building, and an adjacent convenience store. They have a great vision and I'm rooting for them to succeed! I'd definitely recommend staying there!

Made a reservation, they were super helpful when we double booked. Then we ended up having trailer issues and didn’t get there till the next morning. While we didn’t end up camping the place was very clean. It’s a great spot to camp before heading out on the JD at Clarno.

Great open field camping (for now, I see there is construction for additional structures). We had a big group, so the one porta-potty was not enough; luckily there were two by the school to relieve some of the morning business. We planned for no water availability, but it was great to have nice, cool and fresh water there on site. It was also really nice to have a sink. There was no good place for gray water.

Antelope Market Camping - Loved It

So, Antelope Market Camping is a work in progress. Brandie and Larry have purchased a couple of adjacent lots in Antelope and have made substantial improvements to them. They are ready for tent camping now and have a couple of full RV hookups. When I was there (May 2024) they were in the process of building some mini-cabins. I was there for 5 days with an RV (trailer). Everything was fine, it was quiet, morning coffee under shade trees was a treat for me. My dog and I would always take an evening walk around “town”. Antelope is a quasi- ghost town. I’d suggest reading up on it before you go there, pretty interesting. Also you might want to take a look at the Rajneesh, there are lots of articles and Wild, Wild Country on Netflix is good. I was staying in Antelope because I wanted to explore that part of the state. It has a lot of history, many beautiful locations, and is remote. If you go there, you should be fully provisioned for food. The nearest real groceries are in Madras (40 miles?), gas in Shaniko. The Antelope Cafe/Market is currently closed. Don’t expect to go out for dinner. Most of my communications were with Brandie. She is cordial, knowledgeable about the area, and truly wants you to have a good stay. This really is wild country. Many of us appreciate that. If you are expecting a lot of amenities this might not be what you are looking for.

Met the hosts, and they are great people! The camp site was a great spot along the Oregon Outback Trail. Perfect for pitching a tent, and the honor-bar fridge is awesome! Highly recommended!
