Nothing fancy but a quiet, off the beaten path spot to overnight. Campsite is nestled among pine trees at the edge of the property with a walking path to the nearby lake. Perfect for my truck bed tent setup.

A fantastic venue - beautiful, peaceful, truly natural. Kevin is a consummate caring host and wonderful educator on the history of the ranch and the care of the horses and cows. Definitely would return.

Kevin was a great host, really outgoing and nice, he gave us useful pieces of advice. The camping spot had a mesmerizing view (volcano, forest, cattle and horses) and we slept very well. It was a perfect overnight stay.

Secluded site, lovely view of the prairie and the volcano. Kevin is a saint. Horse whisperer, people whisperer. On-site spring with cool, clear water (water). Short walk through beautiful woods to Hyatt Lake. Serenaded by coyotes, owls, and mystery creatures ooo lah lah. This is a super-find in the hipcamp universe.

I absolutely loved camping on Kevin‘s land. Our family has already planned to come back a few more times this summer and we will be back next year as well. Kevin is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it if you’re going to be in the area that you stay on Kevin‘s land, it’s beautiful

We tent camped at Kevin’s ranch and he was a fantastic host. Very kind man with big ambitions for the property that we wish him all the best on. The view of Mt McLaughlin was spectacular and there was a lot of space to let the dogs run freely. Lots of history to be learned from him about the buildings and nearby sights. The roads back through the timber to the campsites are more freshly cut but my crosstrek made it just fine and with more use, will only improve. There is no cell phone service but fishing, swimming, hiking, and scavenging for various treasures and treats are all within a few miles and very convenient. We didn’t do horseback rides but anyone who wants a private stay with tons of options for activities, we would highly recommend Willowdale Ranch and Kevin for just that.

This is a beautiful, quiet spot — great place for viewing the night sky. Kevin is a kind, communicative host. He is doing a huge amount of work to rehab this amazing property. Help him out by staying there for a night! You won’t regret it.

Kevin's land is beautiful! He was a very considerate host and even had fire and a fire pit ready for us when we arrived. He is cleaning the area so there are some old barns and houses and a some junk, but I can't wait to see what he'll do with it in the next few years!

Beautiful and quiet piece of propery. I stayed here in late March and it was still a bit early in the season. There was a fair amount of mud and snow, but I was able to find a dry patch to pitch a tent and have a nice bonfire. Would happily stay again.

Kevin has a wonderful property that is quiet and scenically beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on a spacious pasture with plenty of room and privacy. Beautiful trees and views. Would definitely stay there again.

the entrance to property looks like a junk yard,the you ng man was nice and checked on us so that was good.the site was just dirt and weeds cut down with a pile of old tires and old bottles with in your general area but on the up side if you ignored the junk the views were beautiful...jjust not for us

This ranch was a hidden gem! The views were spectacular! We couldn’t believe we stumbled across this place. From watching coyotes playing in the prairies, sand cranes calling, horses grazing, sparrows and bald eagles flying amongst the trees. We enjoyed biking the trails from our campsite to Prairie lake not too far from our site as well as a horseback ride with the sweetest horses. Annabelle and Anyelle were such great guides, the horses were so happy and cared for you could tell 💗 Kevin our host was down to earth and helpful as we got to enjoy their spring water they have from their five natural springs on the property. This place is rich in history, from the old wooden barns to finding pieces of history as you walked around and explored.
Everyday we enjoyed the beautiful sights from our private campsite with the view of Mt. McLaughlin. Crater lake wasn’t too far either as well as sooo many other trails and lakes to explore. We were so sad to leave because of all the exploring we still could have done. The temperature was great too, since we were higher elevation it was cooler. We went into Ashland to enjoy an amazing dinner at Omar’s, but we always found ourselves ready to get back to the ranch to relax and enjoy the sights. We will be back and can’t wait to see this place continue to grow as they have big plans for this place and with their equine program. You will fall in love with this place of you enjoy the natural ways of the land. Thank you Willowdale Ranch 🦅✨🏔️

This was a beautiful place. I was able to camp out in a meadow away from everything with just the mountain view in front and the forest behind me. No amenities so you must be self-sufficient. The ranch is not too far away and the boat landing about 25 mins down the road.

This place was amazing, and what Kevin is doing is simply incredible. Visitors should know (and hopefully appreciate) that this is a ranch in rehab. Kevin is working diligently to get things cleaned up and is doing an amazing job. The spot where you camp are simply beautiful. I was able to get in with a 36ft 5th wheel, but it was dicey. If you're not confident in your towing skill and/or your rigs, I'd be cautious. Once we got squared away though, we were in heaven. The easiest way to get there would is to go up Hwy140 and around the back side of Lake of the Woods to Dead Indian Memorial Rd. and then backtrack a few miles to the ranch. I would NOT recommend pulling a trailer from/to Ashland on Dead Indian... very steep and windy. Pretty rough on your rig if you do. All in all I can't recommend this place enough and wish Kevin all the best. We'll be back for sure!

Kevin’s place is exactly what I’ve been looking for, and for quite some time. Just out of the city. Unbelievable nature. Amazing host. And great sleeping.

We had a fantastic time at Kevin’s ranch! The location was easy to find (there’s no cell service, so make sure to map out ahead of time), the communication was exceptional, and the campsite was breathtaking. I recommend this spot if you’re looking to camp in a private setting but still be close to nearby attractions. We rode horses when we arrived which was led by Kevin’s right hand, Annabelle. Annabelle told us about her and Kevin’s mission to provide equestrian therapy to those with PTSD and other needs. Our money was well spent to support their cause! Many well wishes to these two on achieving their goals. This is a great place to retreat!

I’m honored to be the first hipcamper there I guess. The land is in flux. Kevin has done a great deal of work to restore her to her original beauty, and he has many dreams and stories to tell. The ranch is stunningly glorious already. It’s cold!! You did not pack enough cold gear you need more. Despite the cold, felt safe and cozy hammock camping. My big regret is not staying there longer. Excited to see this place grow.
