Our primitive tent sites are designed to appeal to those tent campers who want to “rough it” but who still appreciate access to all campground amenities. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table and is designed to comfortably accommodate one tent and up to four people in a 10x10 tent. Sites are on dirt or gravel. The bathhouse is within easy walking distance.

Everyone we came across was genuinely nice and hospitable. Unlike most camp sites they have a valet that will escort you to your site and make sure you have everything you need which is a really nice touch. Multiple times a day they drive past in a golf cart and pick up trash for you. There is a nice in ground pool and playground.

The campground was clean and well maintained. The vibe was pretty chill and lots of kids running around. 2 playgrounds, a pool. 2 bath houses (code access). The office had ice cream and other things you can buy. The campground cats were friendly

Raccoon mountain is fun! It seems to mostly be an RV community but the tent site I stayed in was lovely. They staff the front office past 5 pm and sell fire wood by phone and they’ll deliver to your site. Really nice people! The cave is also cool. Lots of cute cats that the staff take care of, and bathhouses are well maintained, clean, and dry. Easy drive to Chattanooga too!

Safari Glamping Tent (Deers Meadow)

The tent was very clean & spacious. Beds were fairly comfortable. The bathrooms & facilities were very clean & kept warm. We were right by the playground which was perfect for the kids, and the bathroom was close too. While the tent did have a heating/cooling unit, I’d suggest bringing extra blankets & at least 1 space heater for cold nights. We were able to keep the tent a comfortable temperature with the help of our space heater, but without it we would’ve been pretty cold overnight.
