My girlfriend and I loved the Bambi cabin at Shoestring Creek. Rhonda and Roberta are amazing and very accommodating. Very quiet, tucked away, and peaceful.
Do yourself a favor and go spend some time at Shoestring Creek

We really enjoyed the seclusion and the starry sky. It's so much better than an RV city. We really would have liked to use the firepit, since it was so beautiful outside, but due to an area wide burn ban, it wasn't possible. We will be back, to hike more of the many nearby trails.

Absolutely wonderful! This was my very first time using HipCamp but after looking for a while we finally settled on these cute cabins. We stayed in Mama Bear cabin and had so much fun. The first night there we found salamanders, frogs, toads and heard a few wolves howling around the cabin. We ended up leaving a day early, disappointed that we didn’t make time to explore the woods more.
The drive to the office is extremely fun. You don’t need a 4x4 but you should take it slow and cautious.
Keeping this spot in my favorites as I plan to make more trips to Tennessee and this will be my go to.

I can't recommend this site enough. It was very secluded, which is exactly what I was looking for. Our hosts were amazing and super accommodating. You can buy 5 gallon buckets of firewood, but you can also use any downed wood on the property.
I had a family emergency while there are Rhonda was so understanding and even checked on me while I was gone. If you enjoy primitive camping, do yourself a favor and book a site at Shoestring Creek Campground. I can't wait to go back.

Very nice and quiet little cabins. You can still hear the birds and bugs chirping at night. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

This was my third visit to Shoestring Campground and another totally relaxing stay. Cute camping cabins with real beds and great hospitality make for a wonderful getaway. The cabins are spaced far enough apart that you really have your own private space and rarely see or hear anyone else. The cabins have also been carefully placed in the woods disturbing as little nature as possible. This is definitely one of my favorite spots.

We had a great time in the Momma Bear cabin! The bath house was clean and Rhonda was always available if we needed anything. The camp store was so convenient- especially for ice! We would definitely recommend.

Dogwood was a cozy spot to camp at away from the city touristy areas, my girlfriend and I enjoyed two nights of nature sounds all around us rather then campers being 10 feet away in every direction. We will be coming back to try hill side next time! We also saw a young bear just outside of the property once we checked out.

As beautiful as the campground is it is far more remote than we expected. The cabin was clean and well furnished and Rhonda, her husband or her mother checked in on us each day. .. bringing supplies. The bathhouse was cold water only but there are flush toilets and sinks and a quaint shower system. Mama Bear is better suited for more experienced campers rather than "two-old-ladies-getting-away for-a-few days" type of glamping we have often done in past. Shoestring Creek Campground is lovely, but it was a bit more challenging that we were comfortable with.

The camp was very well set up and Rhonda’s mom was so kind in giving us all the info we needed to enjoy our experience! Can clearly tell the site was made with lots of love and care.

Rhonda was such a great host! When people say this campsite is remote, they mean it. It was great! The bath house was nice and clean. The shed is simply a shed with a bed and a few chairs but that’s ok because it was all we needed to stay out of the elements. It was great to feel remote but yet be only 30 minutes away from Gatlinburg. We also had our dog, so it was great that this site was pet friendly :) he definitely enjoyed the great outdoors.

We stayed in the momma bear cabin and it was wonderful. Nestled on a hill with plenty of shade coverage and trees to hang out hammocks out on. Rhonda was definitely so accommodating and we would absolutely stay here again and again.

We loved shoestring campground this past weekend! We stayed in the sunflower cabin- it was lovely!! Rhonda was so accommodating and kind. We were running late past the check in time as we were driving up from Florida for spring break- she stayed up and waited for us to arrive at 10:30 pm! We were sooo thankful for that! The grounds were clean and comfortable and I would stay here again! I made it in with my 2021 Toyota Corolla with no problems too.

I found the cabin very dusty inside with little little care for the outside. Welcoming was reduced at its minimum. Nevertheless the location was great, and primitive camping was a good experience.

The stay was nice. Deep woods were very dark at night which was cool. The cabin was spacious and clean with a table and chairs. Hosts were very nice. Saw some bears in the early evening while we were grilling!

Me and three friends stayed here for 4 nights over our spring break and we were thoroughly impressed with the hospitality. Our host Rhonda was very helpful with getting us checked in and she also responded to messages promptly whenever we needed something. The cabin was very secluded and we enjoyed many a night by the fire pit.

We had a great stay in the Bambi cabin! Rhonda was very welcoming and helpful. The bathrooms and the cabin were really clean and it was a great place to get away to for the weekend.
