We stayed in Epynt and had a lovely couple of days. It was basic but very comfortable and had everything we needed. Double bed was very comfortable and the kids liked staying on the bunkbeds. The view from the balcony was beautiful, especially at sun set. We found it warm enough so didn’t need to use the log burner. The communal kitchen was great and the games room was a very welcome addition.

Really enjoyed our stay in Poplys. The podcast was comfortable, warm and well equipped and the whole site was pretty and well thought out, with a good "amenity hub" which is particularly useful in inclement weather. The only slight issue we had was we found the temperature of the showers to be inconsistent and they seemed to start off warm but quite quickly get much colder. It should also be noted that the owners' dogs are free to wander the site which may be a concern for people who are nervous of dogs: one of them made my daughter and I jump when it appeared from the veranda of our pod as we returned one night from the bathroom (although it was perfectly friendly) and the other dog, which was more nervous, was by our car on two occasions when we wanted to access it and barked at us as we approached the car - it did back off when we got closer but some people might find that unnerving. Overrall we had a lovely stay and I'd be happy to return and also to recommend it to others.

Waunbayvil wild camping. A teeny pop up campsite for private groups of up to 10 people only .With just 5 pitches . Come alone or bring friends and family. Just 10 mins drive from the sea at Ceibwr on the Pembrokeshire coast. The space Waunbayvil camping is set in its own secluded spot on 40 acres of private wildland and woodlands in the Pembrokeshire national Park, with a pond and views of the stunning landscape. It is the perfect getaway, a place to re-connect with nature and your loved ones in the most peaceful place away from it all. This is not a big campsite with lots of other people, you can book the whole campsite for a private group, or otherwise, only 2 or 3 families very spread out at a time. The pitches are set out with plenty of space in between. There is parking for cars or campervans, and the camping area itself is not accessible for vehicles, making it a lovely car free space with nothing but nature all around you. You will need to carry tents and equipment up to the camping area., only around 100m from the parking area. (We have a wheel barrow for you to use)We also have a small hard standing area for campervan. There is a compost loo, a washing up area, and an off grid shower shack. It is set in the most beautiful surroundings, teaming with wild life and filled with wild orchids and many different species of grasses and wildflowers. It is unique and a treat for people who love natural habitat. The sea is about two miles away where there are spectacular cliff walks for many miles on the Pembrokeshire coast path, and beautiful beaches for swimming. Bring logs and kindling with you. (Can be bought from any garage) If you bring a cool box we can top you up with frozen ice packs. Just ask. NO LOUD PARTIES Guest access Acres of land and woodland, kitchen shack, compost loo, shower hut, pond. Other things to note 40 acres of meadows, wildlife habitat and woods which guests are welcome to roam. You can walk down the track and visit the artists gallery and shop in the big blue barn. It is our first season and we will be very happy to hear your on the spot feedback. Help us develop a really good camping experience. The two camps are at opposite ends of the woodland and are set up with two Tentsile tree tents each. It is quiet, peaceful and lovely, great for birdwatching. The Bannau Brycheiniog, (the Brecon Beacons) are a stone's throw away, you can see them from our property. The A40 and Llandovery train station are just minutes away.

Coed Obry

Coed Obry is a 5.5 acre private woodland on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. It has its own private gated access from the road and a 50m track leads from the A 4085 to a small car park for 5 vehicles. Paths lead from there to the caravan, bunkhouse, camping areas. There is a compost toilet block and sink (cold water tap) in the centre of the wood shared by all visitors. The notice board in the car park provides visitors with maps, photos and information about the wood, and there are laminated maps showing the routes of around 30 local walks which visitors are welcome to borrow during their stay. Canoe, kayaks and paddle boards are available to hire in Coed Obry and there are several fire pits with seasoned firewood for sale. There is no mains water so visitors are requested to bring their own drinking water, but rain water harvesting systems provide water for washing. Nearby there are several outstanding beaches within 1-3 miles and there is good access to the mountains of Snowdonia; the Afon Dwyryd provides an excellent sheltered river/estuary for canoeing and paddle boarding; the slate quarries and tourist attractions of Blaenau Ffestiniog, rock climbing at Tremadog (2 miles); spectacular waterfalls at Croesor (1 mile); the Ffestiniog Narrow Gauge Railway (0.5 miles); the Glaslyn Osprey Centre (1 mile); several shops, restaurants, hostelries and Spar shop in Penrhyndeudraeth (1 mile); three large supermarkets and a regional shopping centre in Porthmadog (2.5 miles).
