Nancy and Jerry were wonderful. We really enjoyed our two nights stay by the Colorado River. It was cozy and quiet. It’s a beautiful ride in and we also took another beautiful ride to the town of Yampa. Highly recommend.

Lovely spot along the river! Friendly dogs came visiting. Jerry and Nancy were very friendly and full of information. Wifi at our site was great, able to watch a movie on a rainy night! Gorgeous area!

2 nights at Vacant Land On The Clear Creek

The host Jesse was super accommodating. We needed to drop a trailer and car off before roaming the national forest and this was perfect. He stayed in communication with us and made sure we got everything we needed. He has a house inside I would recommend renting to roam the area in your 4x4. Thanks Jesse!!

Weekend Trip to Valley of the Bear Ranch

Exactly as advertised. Very private pasture with good views. Cute baby goats to watch. A friendly guardian sheep dog will come to visit. The site is relatively level with a picnic table.

Weekend Trip to Colorado River Camp Has It All!

This was the fourth time staying on the property and it was amazing as usual. Super clean and private. I 100% recommend staying here! We were able to see the animals and give them love. We also caught some fish this year right off the camping site!! We WILL be back!!

We stayed at the first rv spot with a view and our family loved it! The view was great and the stars were amazing! The map that Joe sent was very helpful.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Ranch, South Park

We had a relaxing stay surrounded by amazing beauty. Jay was a perfect host - friendly, helpful, and respectful of our privacy. We saw bountiful wildlife and spectacular moose sightings. It was a great spot to unwind and beat the 100 degree heat of the lower elevations.

We really enjoyed staying on this lot, it was a tight fit for our 38ft motorhome width wise (not length wise). But the mountain scenery and kind neighbors made that not really matter. Feels like a safe spot for kiddos, nice neighborhood center basically right across the parking lot. Aaron was very communicative and replied quickly to any questions we had.

2 nights at Colorado River Camp Has It All!

I liked camping next to the Colorado River while still being very close to New Castle and Glenwood Springs.

2 nights at Bristlecone Camp Breckenridge

Had a little bit of trouble with the grill on sight. Other than that we all loved the spot and had some of the best Stars I’ve ever seen. Everything was clean and well put together with such a unique atmosphere would totally recommend and come back.

1 night at Wandering Moose Meadows

Moose camp, as we called it, exceeded expectations. We saw multiple moose each day, a red Fox and a heard of bighorn sheep on the mountain across the valley. Pack your toilet and bags, and plenty of supplies as you won’t want to leave once you get out there.

Weekend Trip to Bristlecone Camp Breckenridge

This campsite has gorgeous views. Took a bit for us to adjust to the altitude, but we really enjoyed our stay. The picnic tables, awning system for shade, and fire pits were nice added touches. It is close to the Bristlecone Trail and to Kite Lake. We also saw 2 marmots and 2 moose during our visit. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property!

Weekend Trip to Colorado River Camp Has It All!

Awesome space! Very peaceful and well put together. We were able to see two eagles up in a tree above the site. The property is absolutely incredible. There were some prior reviews about bugs, but they weren’t too bad this time of year. We would definitely come back again in the future!

There was a power outage the first night, but Aaron was super responsive, contacted the power company right away, and we had power by the next morning.

2 nights at Riverside Rest for RVs

The river front campsite offered a peaceful and beautiful spot to spend a quiet and relaxing couple of days. The golden eagle pair soaring over the Colorado River was an unexpected bonus that added to the experience. I managed to hook a nice rainbow wading in a very chalky river as the spring runoff (early June) made wading difficult. I would imagine better conditions in the next week or two as the flows drop and the water clears. Wonderful host and happy dogs made the stay exceptional.

The views are amazing and it’s nice to be out of town but still 15 minutes away from Glenwood Springs. Also clean perfect camp spots for tents

A perfect location for a self-contained 27 foot travel trailer! My husband and I enjoyed our stay and felt very safe and secure. The campsite is level and off the road enough not to hear traffic noise on a rural road near the Colorado river. The location is perfect for going into either Glenwood Springs, or rifle/salt. Not far from Newcastle at all. We enjoyed cycling, bicycle, riding, and iron Mountain spa. A perfect location and reasonable price.

The main house which is not yet finished has beautiful etched glass windows of the cattle drives. James Hinds the homesteader and original owner of the ranch created the ware and hinds ditch which supplies our abundant Valley water. He was a prominent attorney and got our water rights given to us forever from President Harrison. It includes water that extends to the middle of the Colorado River and the one mile of our shoreline. We live in a house on the property with our 3 year old son, and Buddy the dog, who will be very excited to meet you and might come check on you through out your stay. He loves leftover campfire hot dogs. Please be aware that this is old mining land and there is mining debris and also glass on the property. We work hard to pick it up and repurpose into art projects but it seems to be a never ending battle. If that is of concern this might not be the property for you. However feel free to bring a metal detector and your geology books and you can find a lot of fun treasures on the land if that is your thing!
