I had a great stay in Castine thanks to this Hipcamp! The hosts were friendly and easy to reach through the app. I stayed at site one which was great for a tent and a little more private than site 2 as it was surrounded by trees on three sides. Very simple setup. The two sites are basically attached to each other though so I was lucky to be the only one there during my stay. The campsite was clean and freshly mowed when I arrived. It was a little buggy when it wasn’t windy when I was there in June and the second day was windy so be sure to keep everything solidly in place. I brought a camp toilet but ended up preferring to just use the public restrooms in Castine. They’re open 24/7 with parking right outside the building and only 5-10 minutes down the road. I also often stopped at public restrooms at libraries, stores, or grocery stores while out and about. Nearby I’d recommend coffee at bucklyn coffee in blue hill and you can fuel up and gas ice at their Hanford grocery stores while. The blue hill library is also fantastic and I picked up some used books about Maine there. The Stone fox ice cream truck down by the harbor was excellent and better servings than the dairy port imo. I’d also highly recommend Castine kayak adventures (especially the bioluminescent paddle), Wadsworth cove beach and the lupine meadow nearby called “hatch cove preserve” at the turnoff for the beach which was in full bloom during my stay in June.

Weekend Trip to Flatrock on the River

We loved our stay so much! The gravel road was smother than most black top roads! We pulled into our site and was so surprised to see such a clean, well put together site! We backed our truck camper in with ease and had a nice level pad. It was such a great perk of firewood, tiki torches! Solar lights were such a nice surprise and lit the path to the cleanest porta-potty I’ve ever seen!! We had the pleasure of meeting our host the next morning and he welcomed us and invited us to stay for the day with our dogs and check out flat rock! What an amazing area. Worth every single penny! You must stay here if you’re in the area!

Our stay at the tent site on Deer Isle was nothing short of magical. The location was stunning, surrounded by lush trees and the soothing sounds of nature. The site was well-maintained, providing a perfect blend of comfort and wilderness.We loved the privacy and peacefulness, allowing us to fully unwind. The nearby hiking trails offered breathtaking views, and the sunsets kayaking over the water were unforgettable. The host was incredibly welcoming and provided all the cooking things like grill and the cooking propane stoves and helpful tips about local attractions and activities and the best lobster places to eat.

We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access about 15-20 minutes south of Bangor. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. We have easily acomodated 20+ canpers at once (6-8 groups), though typically you might be the only group here. Car camping, van life, and RVs are welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here that won't bother you. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available at the RV posts and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. RV parking may need to be arranged with myself. For RVs, Electric hook up is 30amp and an extra $10/day. Water hook up is $5/fill. Chopped, split, and dried wood (pine) is available included in your Hipcamp fee! You can burn what you need for the day/night. Thank you. Enjoy ease of huge, level gravel pad. Includes a 2 sided privacy structure to hang an outside shower bag (bring water & bag). Branch lake is right across the main road (but more like driving distance than walking). 15 mins to Ellsworth, 30 to Bar Harbor. No bathrooms, bring water, take your trash. This is a huge level gravel pad up a long dirt driveway. Travel down a dirt road about 1 mile to find your oasis in nature. 4 wheel drive is not required but necessary if you bring an RV (please use 4 wheel drive when going up the driveway if you’re towing to avoid creating ruts in the drive way. A car will make it down the dirt road and up the semi-steep drive way. PLEASE DRIVE SLOW to respect the road and preserve the undercarriage of your car. Please bring everything you need for a great stay and take everything with you when you depart. The pad will accommodate multiple tents, a small to medium sized RV and 4-5 cars. There are no onsite amenities. Please bring your water and plan to take your trash with you. The area is lush and green and the stars are bright at night. Any fallen trees are yours to use for firewood. You can also take any small branches from the brush piles. We just ask that you do not cut down any other trees on the property. You have 13 acres all to yourself. There are a few short trails that lead to the rear of the property but they are very short and not maintained paths. Guests interactions: You are on your own! We will observe the property after your checkout. Please take everything with you and do not burn trash in the fire ring. There are nearby ATV trails. If you bring ATVs, kindly ask that you drive them carefully on our gravel pad, driveway, and dirt road (drive slow, no donuts please :)) Dogs are welcome! Bring your friends. Take your trash. Please respect our nature and pack it out if you pack it in. That includes anything you may or may not do in the woods. Do not leave tissue paper or piles of #2 on the paths. Use a bag, pack it out. We do not provide anything besides the space to pop a tent. Bring a hand saw to cut wood!

Welcome to a privately owned 200+ acre haven with miles of dirt roads to explore. This land is intended to help folks get back to the basics. Camping in Maine used to mean packing up the rig, grabbing the Maine Gazetteer and driving around until you found a vacant public campsite. Sadly, those public sites are rarely vacant anymore and you need to plan well in advance to reserve an ideal site at a state campground. Public campgrounds serve their purpose but they don't offer the backwoods camping experience that so many families enjoy. So, my family would like to introduce you to Jay Birds Way. Conveniently located at the top of Murray Street and only a couple minutes from downtown Bingham. The winding dirt roads are perfect for a bike ride or hike. Watch your dog flush a partridge or your little ones explore beautiful Jackson brook. Quiet solitude is what you will find here. There are no motorized sports allowed on this property. Sorry, but ATV access is not available. North Country Rivers is only 5 minutes away for your rafting experience or to visit Patrick's Pub. Wyman lake has a wonderful public swimming area and boat launch 15 minutes away in Pleasant Ridge and the Bingham Kennebec River boat launch is just a few minutes away. Bingham in centrally located to some of western Maine's favorite destinations such as Rangely, Sugarloaf, Flagstaff Lake, Jackman and beautiful Moosehead Lake.
