3 nights at Howling Goat Farm and Grange

For a farm, the only time it was truly noisy was when one of the baby goats got tangled up in the fence and ended up hollering, making the name of the farm very appropriate. Ashley was very gracious with amenities and recommended a nearby Lake George which we had a ton of fun swimming and boating.

2 nights at Maine Lakeside Hideaway - Otyokwa

We had the whole place to ourselves with pick of the land. This was the perfect place to unwind after a long day of adventures! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing 3 wild turkeys and waking up to the sound of the leaves in the trees above rustle in the wind. If you want a slice of peace, camp here.

Evan was very accommodating and responsive even though he wasn't home. Everything was as he said it would be. I would absolutely stay there again without hesitation. It was a delightful place with a friendly house cat.

Erica’s place was better than advertised and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Our main goal was to visit the Botanical Gardens which were an easy 1 mile bike ride away. We stayed 2 nights with a camper van & 2 tents and it worked out perfectly. Several good flat spots for RVs & tents. The communal kitchen was really well stocked and convenient especially when it rained to have a dry place for dishes and what not. It seems like they are working to add some more amenities beyond the nice outhouse & kitchen so I’m sure it will get even better. There is a rather tight turn off the main road onto the drive that would bother me if I had a big trailer. Excellent cell coverage with Verizon.

This is the best camp!!! The view of wild flower fields and the river takes our breath away no matter how many times we have seen it! We can’t thank John and his family enough for persevering and caring for this land and allowing us to enjoy it!!! :)))

Great camp near many attractions like Botanical Gardens, great hiking at Boothbay Region Land Trust, swimming, shopping, dining and various boat tours. The camp is well maintained with fire pit (incl. grill), seating, lighting and an outdoor kitchen area. Erica was extremely communicative and helpful with local info, having grown up there. Heed her warnings re: rig lengths and I recommend u keep to the right when approaching the camping area. The left fork is a bit gnarly. Also beware there are some decent size rocks which can be a problem depending on ur clearances. I shall return.

3 nights at 🌲 40 Acres Of Riverfront Serenity

Wow, this is an amazing piece of paradise in Maine!! The river was refreshing, clean, and stunningly beautiful. We had the best of both worlds being in the woods and near water. My dog enjoyed being able to roam around off leash while I relaxed in the river. The location is perfect, close to a grocery store and gas station, Farmington had a wonderful downtown area with shops and restaurants, and also close to Rangely! The camp host, Kyle, was very responsive and welcoming. One day it was almost 100° and some kids made their way up the river, crawling on the rocks to float down on their tubes. Next time, Im bringing a tube! Thank you for allowing other people to enjoy this site!!

2 nights at Camp Nepenthe

Kilene & Chris's place is a little slice of heaven! If you want a stress free SAFE and easy place to get away to...this is it! The loop road is a perfect 2 miles little hike to do after dinner when the temps cool down...the dock is a perfect place to sit and have a beverage and get some sun and salt air. We will be back for sure!

Weekend Trip to Continuous Harmony Farm Camp

The site along the pond was very picturesque. There were other campers but noise was not an issue at all!! The host recommended a great hike to an amazing view spot. The animals were fun to see walking around and the fireflies at night were fun to catch!

This is a wonderful campsite in an absolutely beautiful part of the world. I would highly recommend Camp Nepanthe to anyone. The host was extremely informative and responsive. We had an absolutely wonderful time and hope to return again soon.

Weekend Trip to Rustic Retreat

This was the perfect spot for me to test out the little camper I had just purchased. It was close to town in case I needed anything but completely private at the camp site. Erica was very nice and let me choose my own place to set up. There were several spots to choose from. She let me know my dog could enjoy off leash time which was great because he's a puppy and loved sniffing everything. There was a nice fire pit with plenty of brush piles to keep the fire going and full water jugs on hand to put it out. I would definitely recommend this location for either the single remote camper or a group b/c there was a nice area that would fit several campers in a round open field area. Thank you Erica for sharing your piece of paradise.

Tender Field hip camp is located on a quiet rural road not far from the town of Lewiston. It sits on 35 acres, 4 acres of field and the rest is wooded with a sweet small creek that leads to a series of beaver dams. At the end of the property you can get a distant view of Mt Washington. This Hip Camp site has just added the option to rent a Jayco Popup Camper and now has an outhouse on site 1. Be there first to explore. There is a cleared trail with several nice camping spots. And if you want to explore more. Near by you can either visit a quaint town called Lisbon Falls which offers some lovely outdoor activities or go to Lewiston/Auburn and venture into the twin cities. There are some decent restaurants, a few pubs and Bates College has a great art museum and sweet outdoor waling garden area. There are also a few hiking trails to explore, Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary or Mt Apetite.

We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

Nestled in a pristine natural setting, Hermit Island Campground offers a unique camping experience that has captivated generations since its establishment in 1952. This rustic retreat remains largely unchanged, providing a slow-paced atmosphere that harmonizes with the surrounding environment. With 271 distinct campsites located on the southern end of the island, each site offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature. We invite campers to bring their tents, pop-up trailers (up to 25 feet), and truck campers, while keeping in mind that RVs and hard-topped campers are not permitted. Although we adore dogs, they are not allowed in the campground to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests. Reservations are available from May 24 to October 14, 2024. During the off-season, the campground operates from May 24 to June 21 (excluding Memorial Day) and after Labor Day until October 14, though please note that the Kelp Shed, Snack Bar, and Gift Shop will be closed during this time. The campground is closed from October 14 to mid-May. Each campsite is equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table, space for your camping gear, and a designated parking spot for one vehicle.
