This is a beautiful property and the hosts are very kind. We had great views of the river and mountains. There are 2 dogs and a cat that live on the property, they mostly keep to themselves and are all very friendly and add to the natural ambiance of the property. There is an amazing walking path along the river. The hosts were in the process of setting up some very nice glamping tents on wood platforms. Keep an eye out for those when they become available because those would make for a wonderful peaceful stay.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at Amber and Dale’s campsite. What a beautiful spot! The site was very clean and well accommodated. Amber was nice enough to leave some extra firewood for us as well as a few camping chairs. The site was easy to find and not too far from the road. At the site was a nice picnic table, an outdoor charcoal grill, plenty of space for 2 or maybe 3 tents and a large fire pit. Also enough parking space for at least two cars. We slept in our rooftop tent on the bed of our F150 pickup. Although the tent sites are level, the parking spot had a slight slope to it so I just used some firewood under the tires to level it out. slept comfortably no problem! The site is private and surrounded by some small trees with great views and a beautiful sandstone back drop. The owners are very friendly!

After 3 miles, at the end of pavement, you will see a sign that says "Dry Camp", with a long dirt driveway. Our campground is 13 miles before the hazardous road to Chaco Canyon. We like to say the we are "The Gateway to Chaco Canyon". Save the wear and tear on your trailers, camp with us! Horse-Thief Campground is an upcoming camp; located on 5 acres of land and more, for campers to enjoy. In a quiet; serene, beautiful landscape area of the Dine Nation. With beautiful sunrise; sunsets and night sky is out of this world. There are trails in which visitors may walk or bike, as well as a Look Out Point. Horse-Thief is currently a Dry Camp with no Electricity or running water however generators are welcome. There is one portable restroom. We look forward to Meeting and Greeting you!
