Weekend Trip to Al 's camp

Can't say enough about Al's camp! Al adds a lot of extras..a very clean outhouse, lots of firewood and non potable water. We had a nice time on the trails that are nicely kept. We didn't have fly on tent so the fireflies gave quite a show! Thank you so much for a lovely camping experience :)

5 nights at James H.’s Land

Being parked with our RV at James’s land was super convenient for us. The parking spot both for our camper and truck was easy to park in and plenty of space. Jim greeted us and was really nice. His property had space to relax and let our dogs run which was great. It is really close to the expressway which is convenient to get all around Rochester and the surrounding areas. We will likely be ack again!

The land was beautiful, well tended, and secluded. Plenty of clear flat spots for our tent and total privacy. We enjoyed our stay on the land!

Weekend Trip to Tomtuga on the Erie Canal

This was one of the most interesting Hipcamps we have visited yet! The Host, Tom, was fabulous and provided enough area information to keep us busy for a couple of weeks, but we only had 2 days. We would highly recommend using this Hipcamp right on the Erie Canal. Peaceful and fun.

We booked Debra’s land for a large camping group. It’s really great property! We had an excellent time. Debra was very responsive and accommodating to our questions and needs. We will be back for sure.

Weekend Trip to Brookside Lean-to

What an absolutely perfect experience! We had a "woods" experience with amenities not too far away. (very private). The camp site and lean to reminded me of camping along the AT. Our host was very gracious as well as knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Friendly horses,dogs and chickens at the barns added to the experience. We were offered a bottle of local wine but instead swapped out a dozen fresh farm eggs. A great jump of point for the region, we will be trying to stay again our next time through.

Tommy and Laura were amazing hosts. We got to feed the cows, they gave us some firewood, and took us on a tour of the property! Bathroom was clean and site was private. Stayed on the last night of our roadtrip and could not have been a better end.

We had a lovely 2 nights at Connie’s Cabin celebrating my birthday. Watching deer and birds from the deck was so peaceful and serene. Grateful that Laurel and Rock have shared their beautiful property with folks looking for a little respite. We feel refreshed!

The tent camping was perfect. Having all the modern amenities (electrical, a fridge, toilets, sink) made it for the perfect glamping experience. The grounds themselves were *gorgeous* and it was like stepping into your own personal oasis. 10/10. Thank you for having us!

Korey was a wonderful host was kind and considerate. Some sites were a little overgrown, but the main pathway was mowed and well taken care of. This a great budget option for people who are hiking and spending time in the Finger Lakes

I highly recommend staying at Camp Tomtuga. Tom was very helpful. Everything went so well that I extended my stay. It’s very quiet, mainly the sounds of nature, hardly any road noise and the train only comes by every few days.

1 night at Crazy Goats Farm Camp

Great little campsite! They have tent and RV sites. Hosts were very friendly. The goats were adorable. The piggy too! Convenient distance from CMAC if you're going to see a concert. Just remember to come back quietly and be respectful of the property. This was a nice quiet location other than a little bit of road noise from 5/20 but that diminished overnight

James had a nice, clean property and was very welcoming when we arrived. Directions were clear. He was hospitable and checked on us to make sure that we had everything we needed before settling in. Great experience overall!

Weekend Trip to Crazy Goats Farm Camp

Perfect spot for a short stay!! The hosts were super kind and helpful. We came in after a few days of rain and they relocated us to a dry spot, and went the extra mile to help us pull in and level out our camper. The farm animals and pets on the property were the star of the show! We loved being able to watch the goats from our window, and were greeted in the morning by the dogs and cats. All are super friendly, I would highly recommend this camp to any animal lovers out there. Clean bathroom with shower available was a bonus.

Tomtuga on the Erie Canal

Thank you for looking at what I have to offer. We love to have fun here. Which is why we call our little campground Tomtuga. It is sort of a reference of the Caribbean pirate island of Tortuga, except my name is Tom. I'm here mostly for the canal and living the pirate life but there have been sightings of Bigfoot and his cousin Yeti. They show up once in awhile to keep things interesting. Here at Tomtuga we are 2 acres with the Erie Canal across the front on a quiet street and the Genesee Valley Transportation, a local shortline railroad across the backyard. Boat season is May - Oct. Train runs mostly just two days a week all year. Step out and give the boats and trains a friendly wave. We are a hard packed base that can handle the very large RVs. Campsite #1 is where the 50amp / 30amp / 110 electric outlets are. Campsite #2 is the only area that has a "good" grassy spot. With only two campsites, along with my RV here, it is a rather peaceful camp. There are no bathrooms here, so I'm sorry but no tent camping available. We offer ''Buddy Camping'', in which if you are traveling with friends in a 2nd RV / camper. I allow you to both camp on the same campsite #1. You still need to book campsite #4. If you have more camping friends, I can add more campsites for each camper using our "Overflow sites" for booking. This is just a clerical thing for charges. Actually campsite #1 can hold three campers. Also if you don't need power, like you have solar or batteries etc. I might allow you to park anywhere on our two acres. You book campsite #3. You can check the property out before setting up. I allow 2nd vehicles or also ''toads'' on the campsites too at no charge. I'm Ok if you show up early from an overnight drive to the site and park in the main driveway. If there are not any previous campers onsite, I might let you into the site. Just let me know beforehand. *No bathrooms on the property! You must have self contained units! When I get the bathroom built, this will change. **Again, NO Bathrooms here! If you try to book posing as a ''campervan'' but just a van or staying in a cardboard box on a trailer, don't book here. Please go stealth camp at Walmart, they have bathrooms and are free to overnight. I wouldn't pee in your yard. No water hookups. No dumpstation either. We have free WiFi. Firewood available for $5 a bundle or bring your own. The local gas station has small bundles down the street for $8 each. * Please ask me before you let any of your dogs off leash. If there are other campers here, we all need to be in agreement on this. For their children and pets safety too. I do allow multiple dogs here. Again, please clean up after them. Do NOT just toss it into my woods or the canal. Nice small canal town here with local eateries, including two pizza places; two bars and a breakfast lunch spot / laundromat / hardware store / Dollar General / gas station. We have a veterinary in town too. All within a short walking distance. NYS Bike path on the opposite side of the canal, goes from Buffalo to Albany. Some 350 miles. Also a free NYS Canal boat ramp 1,800ft to the east, on our side of the canal. So bring your bikes / kayaks / boats / fishing poles. Rentals available in Lockport. Worms available at the hardware store in town. We are also open during the winter season, Uh yep. Please message me before hand because it depends on the snow depth if I'm letting campers in. *Special Bonus Offer - I am an online ordained minister and offer wedding nuptials here at Camp Tomtuga. Our twist is having your vows done by Rev Bigfoot or Padre Yeti in full regalia. Comes with an actual wedding certificate (you still need a license to make it legal). Cake is an extra fee. NO Dumpstation here!!! There is one 20 minutes south, just off the NY Thruway at the Flying J Truck Stop. 8484 Allegheny Rd, Pembroke. It is in the RV fuel island. Costs is $10. Get the code inside. *Ask about our free camper sticker or buying a Camp Tomtuga T-shirt. The shirts are Made to Order and can be mailed out afterwards. Hey if you could, when on the booking page it asks you to "Say Hello". Please tell me what kind of camper you are coming in like an RV or trailer and the size. It asks you that question right above that but I don't receive that info till much later. It just helps me gauge on placement here. I have plenty of room but it's nice to know what it showing up. Thanks Lots of people asking so, we are 30 miles from Niagara Falls. Very easy ride there and back using NYS Rt 104. This route goes along the Niagara escarpment with lots of farms stands and a few wineries. Most of my guests use my campsites as a basecamp to then go and explore Niagara Falls or even day trip to Toronto Canada 106 miles away. I provide a list of local NY info / places to visit in Canada and my experience on crossing the border. My camp to downtown Buffalo is 38 miles. To downtown Rochester is 51 miles. Lake Ontario Olcott Beach is 17 miles. Letchworth NYS Park 60 miles. We are 42 miles to the Buffalo Bills (Highmark Stadium). Thanks again, I hope you come and stay.

This location is "Dry Camping"; no water or electric; just a port a potty. Italy Valley is a gorgeous hidden part of New York. Our Mountainside Camp offers a retreat for the fully equipped camper who wants to get off the beaten path. There is an Eagle's Nest about 2 miles North on Route 245, pass Coward Rd., watch across valley in a big dead tree about 400 yards away. When you see the nest, you'll know it. I've seen an Eagle perching on the tree. Here, you're within driving and biking distance to the Town of Naples, NY (Grimes Glen Park), and Canandaigua Lake, and all of the beauty and culture of the Finger Lakes Region is at your doorstep: vineyards and wine tours, water fun on the lake... and so much more. Within an hours drive you can bike, hike, camp fish, boat or swim in 7 of the 11 FINGER LAKES (Conesus, Hemlock, Canadice, Honeoye, Canandaigua, Keuka, and Seneca. Keep truckin' and hit Cayuga, Owasco, Skaneateles and Otisco. (or 90 minutes until you reach the 11th FINGER LAKE, Otisco) The camp has come along way since it was established (June 2017) when our Scout Camper came to stay***, with "Base Camp" site maturing with level tent sites, fire pits, benches, tables, port-a-potty. "Hawks Landing" site (1/2 way up the hill) making progress as well, not so much road noise up here. "Eagles Nest"; all the way up is the most private deep in the woods, 1000 feet back! More carved out camp sites to come soon I hope. ***Carry in and carry out. I'm shocked at the liter left by some campers. This is a simple privately owned piece of land that I've been renting out for the lower cost, no frills private location. PLEASE just leave as you find it; most do, thank you.

Every year we host a Tree fundraiser called "May We Begin" where we replant as many trees with tree shields as we can raise funds for. Learn more about this land: The feeling of peace is about 1 mile off the road. Pulling into Apple Cove you'll see we've cleared areas for tents and small van style RVs. There is an individual fire pit for each camper, a small rock bottom creek runs through the 15 acres for a nice, relaxing view of the woods.
