I highly recommend staying at Camp Tomtuga. Tom was very helpful. Everything went so well that I extended my stay. It’s very quiet, mainly the sounds of nature, hardly any road noise and the train only comes by every few days.

Great little campsite! They have tent and RV sites. Hosts were very friendly. The goats were adorable. The piggy too! Convenient distance from CMAC if you're going to see a concert. Just remember to come back quietly and be respectful of the property. This was a nice quiet location other than a little bit of road noise from 5/20 but that diminished overnight

Weekend Trip to Lean-to in quiet forest

What is not to love about this hipcamp. We absolutely loved the seclusion of this site. It was honestly everything we wanted from the trip. We loved the location for adventures and hiking and we're extremely happy with the lean to when it was a bit more rainy than we had hoped. We checked out Lake Ontario and Watkins Glen. If you are looking for a great secluded spot for the night I absolutely recommend this hipcamp.

James had a nice, clean property and was very welcoming when we arrived. Directions were clear. He was hospitable and checked on us to make sure that we had everything we needed before settling in. Great experience overall!

Weekend Trip to Crazy Goats Farm Camp

Perfect spot for a short stay!! The hosts were super kind and helpful. We came in after a few days of rain and they relocated us to a dry spot, and went the extra mile to help us pull in and level out our camper. The farm animals and pets on the property were the star of the show! We loved being able to watch the goats from our window, and were greeted in the morning by the dogs and cats. All are super friendly, I would highly recommend this camp to any animal lovers out there. Clean bathroom with shower available was a bonus.

Had a wonderful time at Thomas's Hipcamp! Thomas was very welcoming and accommodating. Nice quiet, peaceful place to camp! My boys and pups loved having lots of space to walk and run around. My boys also loved the lights that come on at night they thought it was cool.

What a great little camp ground! The goats were adorable. Lots of shade at this location. The hosts were very friendly. The electrical was very helpful considering the weather was less than ideal. We will definitely come back again. This was a great location for visiting CMAC for a weekend concert.

Best for smaller travel trailers but they do have a spot for a large one. Remote tent areas. The goats are adorable 🤩 Two very friendly fun loving dogs.

It was nice to have water and electricity nearby! The kids loved the goats, and there was a Lot of wood around to make a fire with. The only thing I wish was different was you could hear and see cars going by all night, but other than that it was a great experience!

1 night at Lean-to in quiet forest

We just spent 1 night camping here for a quick getaway. Finding the driveway was a little tough as it wasn't marked but when we pulled in, it was a short drive through the woods to the woodsy, secluded site! The lean-to was huge! It was able to fit a 4-person tent inside plus had extra room on the sides for belongings. The firepit was right outside of the lean-to which was convenient. The outhouse was clean and a short walk away from the hangout area. I would suggest bringing extra lights! It got so dark at night being surrounded by all the trees. As it is early spring, the trails around the site were pretty muddy and we couldn't figure out where they lead to but we also were not trying hard to walk too far out. We ended up discovering a pond but we were not sure who owned it since there was a house pretty close by. We loved the sound of owls at night and gazing at the bright stars! Our 2 golden retrievers came with us and absolutely loved frolicking through the woods, although they did get several ticks. Overall a great stay! Very glad we went.

There is a dock, fishing, picnic table and deck, and fire pit, you will have the entire area to yourself and can set up camp whenever you would like. No running water other than the stream. It seems clear, but it is not safe to drink. For shower: there is a public shower at the Beach House at Fair Haven State Park. NO Hunting on site. Please engage in 'active raccoon control' meaning, lock any food in the car before bed or when not in use. Raccoons are naturally shy animals that prefer to retreat when they sense humans nearby. Removing access to food sources is the most effective raccoon control. Adventuring? Nearby attractions are a NYS specialty. This is a great location for anyone visiting Fair Haven Beach, Sterling Nature Center or nearby Chimney Bluffs. The NYS Renaissance Festival is only a few minutes’ drive.

This location is "Dry Camping"; no water or electric; just a port a potty. Italy Valley is a gorgeous hidden part of New York. Be one with The Great Outdoors near New York's picturesque Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes. Our Mountainside Camp offers a retreat for the fully equipped camper who wants to get off the beaten path. There is an Eagle's Nest about 2 miles North on Route 245, pass Coward Rd., watch across valley in a big dead tree about 400 yards away. When you see the nest, you'll know it. I've seen an Eagle perching on the tree. Here, you're within driving and biking distance to the Town of Naples, NY (Grimes Glen Park), and Canandaigua Lake, and all of the beauty and culture of the Finger Lakes Region is at your doorstep: vineyards and wine tours, water fun on the lake... and so much more. Within an hours drive you can bike, hike, camp fish, boat or swim in 7 of the 11 FINGER LAKES (Conesus, Hemlock, Canadice, Honeoye, Canandaigua, Keuka, and Seneca. If you ever experienced, as a kid, going to the country to visit grandparents/aunt or uncles - this is an adventure just like that with dirt (mud puddles and all) driveway (approx. 1100 ft. long). This is a private property of 10 acres of lightly wooded, sloping areas with a pond and a private residence of 2300 sq. ft. which have guest rooms available as a BnB - Book rooms on AirBnB or Booking.com. It is NOT a manicured estate but rather land with mowed rustic trails with a old pond with water critters, bullfrogs, fishes, water spiders, tiny snails. There is an occasional Blue Herring, Wood Ducks and Canadian Geese that stop by as well as other wildlife.

Tomtuga on the Erie Canal

Thank you for looking at what I have to offer. We love to have fun here. Which is why we call our little campground Tomtuga. It is sort of a reference of the Caribbean pirate island of Tortuga, except my name is Tom. I'm here mostly for the canal and living the pirate life but there have been sightings of Bigfoot and his cousin Yeti. They show up once in awhile to keep things interesting. Here at Tomtuga we are 2 acres with the Erie Canal across the front on a quiet street and the Genesee Valley Transportation, a local shortline railroad across the backyard. Boat season is May - Oct. Train runs mostly just two days a week all year. Step out and give the boats and trains a friendly wave. We are a hard packed base that can handle the very large RVs. Campsite #1 is where the 50amp / 30amp / 110 electric outlets are. Campsite #2 is the only area that has a "good" grassy spot. With only two campsites, along with my RV here, it is a rather peaceful camp. There are no bathrooms here, so I'm sorry but no tent camping available. We offer ''Buddy Camping'', in which if you are traveling with friends in a 2nd RV / camper. I allow you to both camp on the same campsite #1. You still need to book campsite #4. If you have more camping friends, I can add more campsites for each camper using our "Overflow sites" for booking. This is just a clerical thing for charges. Actually campsite #1 can hold three campers. Also if you don't need power, like you have solar or batteries etc. I might allow you to park anywhere on our two acres. You book campsite #3. You can check the property out before setting up. I allow 2nd vehicles or also ''toads'' on the campsites too at no charge. I'm Ok if you show up early from an overnight drive to the site and park in the main driveway. If there are not any previous campers onsite, I might let you into the site. Just let me know beforehand. *No bathrooms on the property! You must have self contained units! When I get the bathroom built, this will change. **Again, NO Bathrooms here! If you try to book posing as a ''campervan'' but just a van or staying in a cardboard box on a trailer, don't book here. Please go stealth camp at Walmart, they have bathrooms and are free to overnight. I wouldn't pee in your yard. No water hookups. No dumpstation either. We have free WiFi. Firewood available for $5 a bundle or bring your own. The local gas station has small bundles down the street for $8 each. * Please ask me before you let any of your dogs off leash. If there are other campers here, we all need to be in agreement on this. For their children and pets safety too. I do allow multiple dogs here. Again, please clean up after them. Do NOT just toss it into my woods or the canal. Nice small canal town here with local eateries, including two pizza places; two bars and a breakfast lunch spot / laundromat / hardware store / Dollar General / gas station. We have a veterinary in town too. All within a short walking distance. NYS Bike path on the opposite side of the canal, goes from Buffalo to Albany. Some 350 miles. Also a free NYS Canal boat ramp 1,800ft to the east, on our side of the canal. So bring your bikes / kayaks / boats / fishing poles. Rentals available in Lockport. Worms available at the hardware store in town. We are also open during the winter season, Uh yep. Please message me before hand because it depends on the snow depth if I'm letting campers in. *Special Bonus Offer - I am an online ordained minister and offer wedding nuptials here at Camp Tomtuga. Our twist is having your vows done by Rev Bigfoot or Padre Yeti in full regalia. Comes with an actual wedding certificate (you still need a license to make it legal). Cake is an extra fee. NO Dumpstation here!!! There is one 20 minutes south, just off the NY Thruway at the Flying J Truck Stop. 8484 Allegheny Rd, Pembroke. It is in the RV fuel island. Costs is $10. Get the code inside. *Ask about our free camper sticker or buying a Camp Tomtuga T-shirt. The shirts are Made to Order and can be mailed out afterwards. Hey if you could, when on the booking page it asks you to "Say Hello". Please tell me what kind of camper you are coming in like an RV or trailer and the size. It asks you that question right above that but I don't receive that info till much later. It just helps me gauge on placement here. I have plenty of room but it's nice to know what it showing up. Thanks Lots of people asking so, we are 30 miles from Niagara Falls. Very easy ride there and back using NYS Rt 104. This route goes along the Niagara escarpment with lots of farms stands and a few wineries. Most of my guests use my campsites as a basecamp to then go and explore Niagara Falls or even day trip to Toronto Canada 106 miles away. I provide a list of local NY info / places to visit in Canada and my experience on crossing the border. My camp to downtown Buffalo is 38 miles. To downtown Rochester is 51 miles. Lake Ontario Olcott Beach is 17 miles. Letchworth NYS Park 60 miles. We are 42 miles to the Buffalo Bills (Highmark Stadium). Thanks again, I hope you come and stay.
