Our second time here. Probably our favorite spot! A birdwatchers paradise! We will definitely be back!

We have been here a few times we love to bring the dogs they have so much fun running and swimming! We wished the weather would have cooperated a little better but we still had a great time everything was beautiful as always. There was several new upgrades this time which makes this place even better we love this spot and can’t wait to come back again!

This space is beautiful and private. Valerie provided great directions that made it easy for us to find the spot. It feels so remote despite being so close to Nashville. Great hiking in the area with access to a stream.

1 night at Peaceful Hills Retreat Campground

Great stay at Lumberjack! Rain didn’t scare me away, the road up to the campsites is in fantastic shape! Plenty of room for a couple larger tents. No ticks or bug issues (I treat my clothing/gear and also use repellent). Great hosts and great location!

What a fun spot and great camping area. Power was all set up and got my Airstream all cozied up behind the barn. Was a bit wet for walking around the property, so just had a fire and chilled.

This was a great camping spot with lots of space to yourself. Water was clear and deep in a couple places at site for swimming. I’ll definitely be back.

2 nights at The Bluffs At Tumbling Creek

Camping out in the country is great! Very peaceful. The last 3 miles to the campsite is on a gravel road if you are coming from the Bucksnort exit off I-40. Only 4 cars passed by while camping for 2 days. Plenty of shade available if you plan to set up a tent. This was my second visit to this campsite in the last month. Hope to return again in the Fall.

2 nights at The Bluffs At Tumbling Creek

We loved this place! Very private and picturesque. The deck was an awesome place to wait out an afternoon rain shower. We found that we didnt spend much time at all inside our camper. It was too nice to be inside. On a side note... if there was a 30A power outlet I never found it. Bring an adapter to use the 20A or 50A outlet. But that didn't dampen our stay at all.

1 night at Peaceful Hills Retreat Campground

Another great stay at Peaceful Hills! Campsite 22, Lumberjack, had plenty of space for our two large tents and offered privacy as well. Jennifer and her family are great hosts as well!

3 nights at Howlin Hill

We truly enjoyed our stay at Howlin Hills. Jenny was a gracious host that made sure we had everything we needed. The sites are nicely laid out and right along the river. Campers can enjoy a relaxing day of fishing and floating! The porta John’s were kept clean and the spring fed showers were refreshing after a hot and humid day in the sun! We will definitely be visiting again.

Property was beautiful and quiet. Saw Deer first evening and lightening bugs. Jade was very kind meeting us as we came in. Would stay again.

Run-A-Muck on the Red River

Or, for a more direct route, take a walk right up our dirt access road to the upper ridge, where you can peek through the treeline for beautiful elevated views eastward toward Columbia. Our treehouse (in progress) is located right at the top of the access road. Though the treehouse has not yet been completed, feel free to climb the 20' ladder up the inside of the hollowed out trunk and pop your head out the top! It sure makes a great photo! Come back to the barn area in the evening to lounge in the hammock, hang out around the picnic table, or cook dinner and roast some marshmallows over the wood burning fire pit with cooking grill attachment (fireside tools & 1 bundle of firewood provided). One filtered and cooled 5 gallon portable Igloo water cooler will also be provided and placed on the picnic table outside the barn. One rolling 96 gallon covered trash bin will be placed inside the barn (please bag your trash). "Luggable Loo" portable compost toilet is also available for use inside the barn. Tho cell & wifi are spotty here on the farm, we will provide one walkie talkie during your stay for direct communication with the main residence, should there be any issues or needs that arise. On the flip side, privacy is respected and use of the electronics is completely at your discretion! For recreation (each within 15-20 minutes of the farm): 1. Only 14.6 miles from I-40 and located on 97 acres, this campground is surrounded by nature, very secluded and private. There is a crystal-clear creek that runs parallel with the driveway and fresh spring water flowing from pipe in the rock close to the entrance on American Way. The creek is bio-diverse, filled with fascinating species, and spring fed, which means it stays cool in the summertime. There are three beautiful homes which are able to be rented out as well. The A-frame log cabin at the top of the hill is called the lodge. The second home, which is a two-story brown log cabin, is where the host lives. The third home is the cottage. Long before these three homes were built, native Indians lived in these beautiful rolling hills and we have found many arrowheads right around the homes on this property. This is a special place and we are happy and honored to share it with you! Peaceful Hills Retreat, a family owned business, started in May of 2017. It all began when Jennifer’s brilliant brother booked a two-story home through Airbnb for Jennifer and the family for a week in the Carolinas. Their Airbnb vacation was a great experience, and she loved having a kitchen to cook in, while traveling with her large family. She gladly said goodbye to tiny hotel rooms. Linda and her daughter, Jennifer realized they desired to run a BnB, and watched the scattered pieces beautifully fall into place. Peaceful Hills Retreat is also a wedding venue. There are three beautiful spots for a lovely outdoor wedding. The waterfall site is a favorite. The lodge is a beautiful place for the reception to take place outdoors and the Honeymoon Cottage makes for the perfect getaway afterwards. At each home you may read a special book called A Soldier’s Child Foundation (ASC). This life-changing, wonderful foundation near Nashville, serves children all over our great nation who have sadly lost a parent who served in our military. ASC tremendously helped Jennifer’s family after the loss of their military soldier and Peaceful Hills Retreat donates a portion of their profits to this amazing non-profit. A Soldier’s Child Foundation removed the shame and sadness from our loss and replaced it with hope, honor. and love. Conveniently located a few miles from town, far enough that it is quiet, but close enough that it is not a long trip to town. The property features a variety of thriving wildlife due to our fresh water stream that gently flows through the property year round. The stream is roughly ankle to hip deep depending on the area. The water is crystal clear and safe to play in if you have little ones. Walk along the stream and discover all kinds of fish, turtles, beautiful river stones and possibly see a beaver or 2. If you have Archery equipment, you can use our Archery Range. The property is split by a 2 lane road. 7 acres to the North and 33 acres to the South. The smaller side is flat with many trails, fresh water stream and a gravel road. It features relatively junior trees and is home to a family of Whitetail Deer. The Southern side of the property features a mature hardwood forest full of giant white oak trees. Be sure to put on your hiking boots though, because there's a few Hills to climb. Three hills that form a beautiful valley in the center, with another fresh waterstream. The valley was once home to a 1700s settlement, so you may find some artifacts. (We just ask that you leave them where you find them.) Main trails are marked clearly with large reflectors for safety. With the near-by wildlife refuge you are sure to see and hear a variety of wildlife. We have large steel firepits in every campsite. So feel free to bring your own firewood! Enjoy a good book or nap while relaxing in a hammock. Swing with a loved one while over looking the fresh water stream. Walk down along the stream and collect rocks, feed the fish, or go for a dip! Currently our property is very Primative, whichever there is no electricity or plumbing. We do offer clean composting toilets & a locking gate at night for your security. **Cellular service is limited in some areas. Signal can be found by the road, or cross the road and take the trail up the 1st hill**
