Weekend Trip to Royal Heart Hill

This was a beautiful and calm place to camp. The directions were super clear, and the amenities were great (the platform even had an outlet, the shower was warm, and there was a nice fire pit). Be aware of mosquitoes and ticks! Luckily, we brought bug spray, but we did get a tick bite. Overall, loved our stay.

Weekend Trip to Shelter at Castle Rock Farm

My family loved our weekend getaway here! Richard provides you with just about everything you need. The property is beautiful, our 2yr old loved looking for rocks by the creek. It’s a perfect spot for stargazing as well. We enjoyed seeing all the wildlife, especially the turkeys and hummingbirds! Lots of good hiking nearby too. :)

Weekend Trip to Royal Heart Hill

Beautiful campsite, perfect for people who want a step up in convenience from backpacking in the woods. Everything is nicely organized, prepped and clean for arrival. Signs and instructions are easy to find (and follow). I stayed at the platform. Huge, safe firepit. Briefly met Carly at the beginning of the drive way. A bit out of the way. Nice views of the sunset. Enjoyed the walk around the property.

Weekend Trip to Carsners Tree Farm (CTF)

This place is amazing. Check-in was easy, Mike helped us hook up electrical. You can walk the entire property, it’s all fenced in. The lower barn is open during day for all visitors. Coffee maker ( and coffee), hot plate, large toaster oven. A refrigerator. They have archery, basketball, etc available. Also flushing toilet and hot shower, dish sink, washer/dryer. Campfire was waiting for us when we got up in the morning. Also, a visit from the dogs! They have chickens! Plenty of wildlife, and very peaceful. Thanks for an amazing time.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left everything was perfect. Richard takes time and effort to make sure your needs are met. This peaceful paradise offered incredible wildlife viewing right from the tent. Cannot recommend this spot enough!

Weekend Trip to Carsners Tree Farm (CTF)

The cabin was warm and comfortable but I didn’t enjoy using the outside toilet in the night . There was access to the barn which had cooking facilities and a toilet and shower . But they were really dog friendly and my dog had the great is time being able to roam free. The hosts were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. There was internet and a tv in the cabin

Jered and Stefane welcomed us to their fantastic spot with open arms. This place sits mid mountain, with fantastic views and easy access to logging trails. Stroll through the local cemetery or just enjoy the quietness from the campsite. Full hookups, level ground, plenty of room to turn around for our 35ft Skoolie. No obstructions on our Starlink. Fire pit and picnic table. Honestly, this place is fantastic. If you are in the area, check this place out!

2 nights at Royal Heart Hill

As a solo traveler I felt super safe here. Surrounded by beautiful plant life, I really enjoyed the comfort of nature and the shelter of the bell tent! Nice big camp fire as well. I was just coming from a farm so having a nice hot shower when I arrived was perfect. Carly was very responsive and friendly. Her system for compost and trash was super organized, which I very much appreciated. The only thing I wish is that I had more time to check out the rest of the land! Can’t wait to be back!

This campsite is the perfect escape from spending a day in the city of Eugene. We really enjoyed our stay in this serene, private spot. Dru is an amazing host, a very kind hearted human being who made sure to check up on us to ensure we were doing okay and was happy to answer any of our questions. Would definitely recommend staying at Dru’s!

Tranquil refuge. Inspiring multi-faceted use of the surrounding acreage. Pristine site with very cool hand-crafted structures and thoughtful amenities. The property was just outside of Cottage Grove and easy to find. The property was clean and well kept. Description of the site matched the physical reality. We were hauling a 22 foot travel trailer and would suggest backing in at the turn off from the upper road. Peaceful and quiet location.

Dancing Creek Farm

In 1948 a wildfire came thru what then was a mixed forest of spars old growth conifers, evergreen and deciduous broadleaf trees burning intensely enough to render the entire area to primarily grassland. Today it is quickly returning to primarily mixed forest, recovering the ability to hold water at cooler temperatures as it once did. Nestled on the south slope of Dickinson Mountain it offers plenty of sunshine yet some of the best cool freshwater to be found anywhere. Although much of this paradise is considerably steep there are ample cow and goat trails to make exploring extremely enjoyable. Bachelor Creek which runs thru approximately 1/2 mile of the Southeast portion is home to beaver, cutthroat, western pond turtles, great blue heron, and many other wildlife. There is a pair of resident Redtail hawks, wild turkeys, deer, bobcat, coyote, cougar, mink, flying, silver grey, and pine squirrels, owls (sawhete, screach, Pigmy, barred, and great horned), and many others. There are also many swimming holes on Bachelor Creek and a tributary we call Dancing creek, although they are all somewhat small the water is nice and refreshing for a quick dip on a warm day. This is a working farm raising cattle, and chickens. On that note please don't feed any of the animals as they could become a real nuisance. If you are going to be leaving your camp for a hike or swim etc. please secure any food items to avoid a potential disaster. The farm is 170 acres (a half mile by a half mile) and there is a fence all the way around it. Feel free to hike wherever, as long as you don't cross any fences you are still here. You can take a dip in the creek where it comes out of the culvert below the road and there is a picnic table at each site as well as at the dipping hole.

This site is in a private RV Resort with full hookups. There is a wonderful clubhouse with a full kitchen, excercise room, recreation room, and fully enclosed sun room overlooking the river. This is a small resort with only 47 sites in total. My site is right on the river so the views are very nice. I won't be using my site this year so it is available for rent by the day, week, or month. The season at the resort runs from May through the end of November. The town of Florence is a resort community with lots of activities throughout the summer. Many people come to Florence for the Sand Dunes and the many great areas for dune buggies. One can bring their own or you can rent one. Either way, it is a lot of fun. The site is restricted to Class A motor homes. Your coach should be in good physical condition and working order.

Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown CG (7 miles from the I5) and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is connected to the Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit, electrical outlet and hammock. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. There is a mile long loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

Campers are encouraged to explore, but be aware, this property is wild.. and encounters with wildlife are common. Beyond the adventuring that can be done on the property, Baker Beach state park is less than a half a mile away and there is a plethora of trails, parks, and lakes within 10 miles. We do have full time neighbors just to the North, so we ask that you be respectful and cautious with regard to dogs/noise. Hwy 101 can be very dangerous for unsuspecting pets. There are several roadside campfire stations(directly across 101 from camp) offering small bundles for $5-6/night. **Be advised that we are slowly working on the property to eventually create more camping space. There was a lot of dirt/fill brought in over the winter of 2022 and the property may not be as green as years past.** Please be our guests, relax, and enjoy!

Glenada was incorporated in 1912 and disincorporated in 1922 after the town's sawmills burned. This side of the river was pretty bustling before the Siuslaw bridge was built in 1936, being quite a transformative event considering the ferry from Glenada to Florence was the main way across the river. River View is located up on Glenada mountain, on the upper level of our three-acre lot. We have a free-range farm atmosphere, with 2 children, 2 large dogs, a cat, and 12 chickens. We allow Hip Campers to bring animals on the property with the understanding that they are good around children and other animals, as our kids and pets are often running around the land. We have firewood bundles and farm-fresh eggs available for additional fees. THERE IS NO TOILET on the property. This is not a tent camping site unless you have your own porta-potty set up. This is a beautiful rustic property close enough to Hwy 101 to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy all the wildlife the Siuslaw River has to offer. Bird watching at its finest! We have also had a bear that passes through, so beware of leaving food out. There are plenty of places to hike and visit nearby dunes, rivers, lakes, parks, and the ocean. Enjoy Florence's amazing food (ask the host for her favorites). Walk down to Old Town for dinner or bring back take-out and eat it in the tiny house (no electricity or running water). Take a short walk to Pricket state park for clamming or just relax with a book and feel the breeze off the river. Whatever you enjoy, we’re sure you can find something close by! No bathroom or running water but there are 2 electrical plugs (110V and 220V) available.
